I know it's hard to divorce ourselves from being rock fans, but yes, despite breaking into the mainstream from time to time, he is not a household name. Could you name everyone else who was on the Oscars this year? Or last year? To most non-rock fans, he was just some guitarist, one of the long list of people involved in the show at some point. Wolfgang Van Halen was on the Oscars, too. I'd imagine most young people had no clue who he was despite him being on a mainstream platform.

Put it this way, I'm working with a singer who is a metalhead and she didn't know who Slash was. There were better odds already being into a related genre, and yet, nope.

Maybe some don't know the name but show the image and i'd wage that 7/10 know that top hatter!! 🎩

Okay, how about Oasis? You could apply it to literally any band in any era, I picked Floyd out of a hat. System of a Down? I think it's a heck of a stretch to call Floyd a "faceless band".

Regardless I find it hard to believe that the music industry is hurting for money as the explanation.

And it's easy as a fan to think that everyone knows Axl and Slash, but 9/10 people who aren't guitarists or rock fans have no clue who Slash is. That's why NuGuns was able to skate on the old legacy for so long. Most of my friends only know Slash because I'm a fan and I talk about GNR.

Wait....what? People don't know Slash? He is as crossover a guitarist as there's perhaps every been....dude just infiltrated the Oscars the other week and next he's vlogging with Skateboarders or slipping into Demi's DM's....

He has had no problems sharing personal things from his life previously. But after 1991 only under controlled situations. He stopped doing press not so much because he didn't want to share, but because he thought media was against him and wouldn't give him a fair chance. And he doesn't have a particular interest in growing his celebrity status, so he avoids press for promoting himself. An autobiography wouldn't really be opposed to any of this.

Yea...by pass the media, get it from the horses mouth...he's more than game for a story on stage, last tour was a return to that....perhaps he's in a sharing mood!

It was about 6 weeks ago. I tried to explain it in the lawsuit thread here (and since then everything has pointed to the answer to both 1) and 2) being yes):

What's going on with Axl's one? Any updates? Perhaps he's got the website ready to do press releases and rebuttals...ready to do a Neverland ranch style MJ direct to cam innocent profession....😸

I think Axl is pretty happy with Team Brazil, they seem to facilitate everything he wants to do. I don't see them leaving anytime soon unless Fernando needs to go because of the lawsuit.

    No offence to Nandos life..

But the lawsuit going south for him, could certainly make our fortunes go NORTH! Every rockstar slags them to shit but there's a reason credible management get shit done....mild competence

LiveNation had some involvement in Bruce Dickinson's speaking tour:

I've always thought it was strange that Axl likes Sebastian Bach so much, they seem like opposite personalities and Bach would grate on Axl's nerves with his constant yapping.

But he's a good lap dog Seb!

Hmmm....book coming and Axl doing a speaking intimate night alone with Axl tour? a la Bono etc....

That would be great, Axl for the lack of interviews he does, is actually really personable and funny in the right environment. That would be a great night, probably have Seb interview him or something and a few songs at the piano and fan questions....😏

    "when's CD2 out?

    "When's CD3 out?" 🤭

Didn’t have this on my 2024 bingo card, but cool!

Maybe with the off year, he’s gonna be releasing stuff solo or further tease new GNR drops. It is very interesting for him to finally do this NOW…

Yea...why now? He's an random old bugger BUT surely he didn't wake up one morning and go....Fuck It! Let's make fucking a website today, in-between flicking through NBA games....Nah, this must mean something....probably not our wildest dreams BUT, something

....STAY TUNED Uncle Axl has caught up with the 90s!

I agree, I’d prefer all of the CD stuff to be released as Guns with Robin and Bucket’s stuff there. But I’d accept those songs as they were with those players over any NITL version through any release method.

Get creamin' Axl has heard your prayers....🤪

He has said that he wrote about 60 songs during the pandemic and then continued writing, so he has to release at least some of those. He also said that he has a "GN'R" folder (as well as for Iggy, Ozzy etc.) on his laptop (and mentioned the "Amen" song along the lines of that) but most of the songs are solo songs.

Well....sure but it just leaves me imagining what all these songs over the year would of been like with Axl and GNR....we start with Snake Pit tunes to Ashba album 😏 all the way to now...."Fall to Pieces" even, would of been amazing with at the time Axl! Lots were put under his nose and he sniffed NO THANKS...Still wouldn't hate that coming to the set list these days....I'm guessing at least Slither is one he obviously would of been down with....

Do we think amongst many issues, one of Axl's is, he's extra particular? 😏

He said he wanted to take a break from touring after the GN'R tour. He also plans to release another album by the time he hits the road.

As well as the deluxe....ok! I guess all the songs they wrote for GNR are being repurposed now? As that's not coming any century soon.... Who knows!

Oh I'm sure they're head over heels for this, I mean, look at their history. Releasing banger after banger for years now, how do they do this? Chemistry? Magic? Who knows?!

Exactly, the only things they're getting together for is, a BBQ at Axl's mansion to celebrate summer and the return of the Burger truck....On the guest list, must not mentions is new albums and music....

You are very optimistic. Aerosmith are my favorite band but they haven't even been able to complete a Vegas residency as of late.. I admire your faith and do hope you are correct..

Now back to Slash! This album and tour should be a blast!

Good news on this front...even re-doing the first dates they already completed as Tyler wasn't happy with his voice those nights....🤞 He can get through it without more shenanigans!

    Faith I said....
