start of the long 4th of July weekend here in the good ole US of A! y'all have fun, do your BBQ, your picnics, your water fun and all that good stuff but be safe!

oh geez yes! they do that here too. my neighbor who used to live across from me is a cop and they were setting them off like crazy
personal firework usage is illegal here and i was thinking who the heck can i call to report a cop? 
hope you are getting triple time working a holiday and that your pup stays calm. my big ole 105 lb black lab hates fireworks (any kind of loud booming noises really ) so since the cop neighbor moved away hope it as all calm here

no thank you! i lived in Texas ( born and bred there thank you! ) which was barely bearable some summers ( 102 degrees at night with super high humidity but i'd go back there in a NY minute.) have visited a wonderful place called Gila Bend *sarcasm* where it was 119 degrees when my family drove to California. and been to Phoenix several times where the temps were also too high to even want to move. even the pools didn't help as the heat made the water than a hot bath!
i do have a good friend who lives in Tucson but they have a pool and good central AC and sheis one of those people that looooove hot weather!
don't you just love when they say but's it's a dry heat?? so is the inside of an oven!

i just found out someone i used to work with died Sunday. he was on a motorcycle and crashed into the back of a semi. died on impact. he was 29 and a really great guy. funny, smart, kind...always willing to lend a hand even if his own desk was piled high with his projects. he was a loving husband and father...4 little boys and another baby on the way. he'd really hoped for a girl this time. so today when i am reading some very petty things here ( and being petty myself ) i thought why is this happening? not gonna be all cliche and say can't we all get along. let's just try and be nicer to people. you never know when your time is up...or anyone else's for that matter.

Hi everyone! I'm new here. Sorry, I'm late! I understand ya'll have been around for awhile. In 1988 I went to a Guns n Roses concert, I was 20 years old! I became an instant fan, the music blew me away! I also met someone very special. His name was Sean. Fate brought us together thru our love of music. We became engaged. Unfortunately, Sean battled alcoholism & took his life. I stopped listening to music for years after this. It was just to painful. Since the Not in this Lifetime tour, I started listening again. It's still hard, because of all the great memories I have of going to Guns n Roses concerts with Sean & now without him.
