Those first two albums are unbelievable. every song is one of the best songs ever written in british rock. it was inevitably more hit and miss after that

I'd say first three. 'Be here now' is highly underrated. Liam's vocals on Stand by me are up there with his best, namely Slide Away and Married with children.

I just watched the Ritz Premiere in my movie Theater and all I gotta say is: holy shit. It felt like I was actually IN that room. Seeing it there really made it incredible and I’ll never forget this experience. I’ll post something more detailed later

Out of curiosity is it the full show, ie with the stoppages between songs or have they cut it down to just the songs with minimal downtime in between?

If it's indeed is a clip from ISE that would be really exiting since that was only played at the Pantages show, a gig we don't have any video or audio from and I don't think that footage would get upgraded for no reason at all.

I'd love to think so but if they had anything else of that quality I'd assume they would have thrown it into the box set. The Ritz film looks amazing though, far better than digital. It would be awesome to see this in a cinema. I can't wait for the full show.

Didn't the Chinese govt ban Chinese Democracy in China?

Please read my post, apologies if it comes across wrongly. My suggestion is the alternative to having a secure payment provider would be to move hosting to a country that doesn't recognise or care about US copyright laws, ie Russia or China.

I would seriously object to linking your paypal adress or credit card to any site, less a site being hosted in russia or china lol. It's hugely risky, unsafe and irresponsible.

These people know their way around the internet and god knows what tricks they have up their sleeves. Don't come complaining if your paypal acount should become hacked by these scumbags.

If that should ever become a requirement, I'm out.

That was an alternative. The 3rd party provider could be US based if that makes you feel safer.

  6. Apologies if I'm missing something but why can't you use a secure service provider to ratify memberships with some form of ID? I know it's seems simple but if you had to link a PayPal or credit card you could quite easily stop the dickheads from joining, unless they went to a lot more trouble. If you use a third party details would be kept secure and not in the hands of the mods. Alternatively move your service provider to Russia or China, I doubt they care about takedown requests (this is just an assumption).

Or go the other way.... Lift their bans and allow them to post, it might dissipate their vendetta.

The rumors started a few days ago and with all of the cryptic shit, If there wasn't any meat to this rumor, it would have been squashed already. It could be another season but shorter or another film. With all of the different locations used besides Twin Peaks itself, it has expanded into world building. They could even do spin offs if they wanted to. I've given it a rewatch or three and it all starts to gel together. It still is interpretive but I've found out what makes sense to me.

I agree, it's happening again... I'd prefer a film I think in a similar vein to FWWM, or potentially a few tele films. I bought the blu ray just to complete the collection but haven't watched it yet. So can you explain to me what the fuck happened??!!

I know you like your filmaking, check out moment lenses, I got the anamorphic just to make my phone vids look better and it's pretty good for a mobile lens.

Think About You is probably one of the more underrated - and definitely underplayed tracks on AFD. Yes, love and respect to the classics and the hits, but I can go a lifetime without ever hearing Jungle again.

I have to confess I wanted to put it in my list but chose Jungle to save getting shit from people I can't be bothered replying to. Well played.

That being said, live, Jungle is one of the best, I'd be devastated to go to a show and not see it.

Anyone else finding it hard to really get enthused by any of this?

its not like the CD leaks of 06, where you were hearing the new shit Axl was working on and wondering when it was going to be released and if he was going to add it to the setlists. This is outtakes from 13+yrs ago, which Axl has likely abandoned. Hardly new GNR album levels of excitement, surely?

I don't agree at all. I'm a 1993 or less fan but I've been on discord all day watching for anything new. It reminds of being stuck to mygnrforum when the Troubadour shows were being announced (except my wifes home - luckily she was out both nights in 2016) and the week later when Fede was streaming. The leaks maybe shit when they get released but it gives me hope, and as a GNR fan, unfortunately, that's the best I can hope for.

I think what I'm trying to say is, its a bit of fun, something is actually happening in Guns N Roses land.

just a 2 hr gig with minimal covers (2-3 max), minimal Axl costume changes (please retire the cowboy get-up from KOHD), and minimal Slash wankery (just end the song instead of adding 2 extra minutes of tasteless noodling). If they do that, even the same old setlist with a few rearranged songs could be made exciting-ish again.

I couldn't agree more. Set list Appetite and LLAS focussed, drop Estranged, Coma and November Rain, one or two ballads  - maybe Dont Cry and Sweet Child, no songs over 5 mins except Rocket Queen and Locomotive, no extended solos, no covers except Nice Boys and Reckless Life followed by ISE to open....and I'd probably cut it down to 90 mins.

I think Axl was leaning in this direction in 2001/02 but it all started to become bloated again like the '92 shows.

I love most of their songs and would have been disappointed if they'd dropped some of the classics when I went to see them and I understand the need to give value for money but the current show is boring. They need to mix it up like they did with the Skin and Bones tour.
