  1. My manager told me they're going to keep looking for a replacement. Much like GN'R, getting my hopes up was a mistake
  2. My job hired someone to replace me on 3rd shift so I can go back to working days. I was supposed to train her last week and she didn't show up on either of her scheduled days. She shows up a few hours early this evening so my manager gave her a uniform and told her to come back at her scheduled time this evening. She no showed again I'm not trying to be negative but why go through the hiring process and on boarding if you're not going to show up? It's especially frustrating for me because I desperately want to go back to days
  3. Given the recent legal trouble and Axl's criticism of the Chili Peppers half-time show several years ago I'd say it's pretty unlikely for both the Super Bowl or the WNBA
  4. Way too many to list but I'm going to a couple EDM festivals and I'm so excited to see Deadmau5 and Audien! I might catch the Chili Peppers at a festival in St. Paul, MN this summer as well
  5. 1. St. Louis 2017- still the best concert I've ever attended. 2. Chicago 2016- this was my first Guns show. Everything was perfect and I'll never forget it. 3. Milwaukee 2017- I got to hear Prostitute live. 'Nuff said. 4. Chicago 2021- Great show. Axl was sick and had a rough night vocally but it was my first GN'R show being front and center. 5. Minneapolis 2017- this one was fun but it had a different vibe than what I'm used to at their shows 6. Chicago 2023- fun show but it was 100 degrees and Slash was phoning it in big time. It could have been the heat but he barely moved around and his solos were a little lackluster. Axl was super energetic and had a great night
  6. Why? That stretch from '06-'10 was the best he sounded in years
  7. I don't know about the band members but one of their managers has this weird fixation with monkeys
  8. I'm curious about which ideas you think are dumb or poorly executed? I personally prefer the prequels (Ep. III has the best third act of the entire trilogy) but they definitely more than their fair share of flaws. They focused too much on the politics in AOTC. It was important to a certain degree as it served to show Palpatine's rise to power but considering 1-6 is essentially the story of Anakin Skywalker, I thought they'd have focused more on his training in Episode II.
  9. I've come to accept that my family is the way that it is. What really irks me about the holidays is the constant consumerist bullshit that's shoved down our throats for the entire month of December. Don't get me wrong, I'll bite on a deal if it's something that I need or would be a good gift for a loved one but I'm not going to spend my money on useless garbage that I don't need.
  10. As someone with Borderline Personality Disorder, I think Axl at the time met the criteria for borderline. There's 9 diagnostic criteria but you only have to meet 5 to be diagnosed. I believe Axl met these 5 criteria back in the day- Impulsive behavior (reckless driving, risky sexual behaviour, substance misuse, binge eating) Intense and sudden mood swings lasting from a few hours to a few days, Inappropriate and intense anger Efforts to avoided real or imagined abandonment A pattern of intense/unstable relationships with family, friends and loved ones. I'm not a psychologist but I would not be surprised in the slightest if he received a BPD diagnosis at some point in the 80s/90s. BPD is also very common in adults who suffered verbal, physical or sexual abuse in their childhood.
  11. Chinese saved my life in a way. I became a fan in 2012 and gave Chinese a fair, unbiased listen in 2015ish. Anyways, fast forward to 2017 and I'm a severely depressed college dropout. I didn't get out of bed for a week. Chinese Democracy kept me going for some reason, especially Catcher and Prostitute. I didn't resonate deeply with the lyrical content but something about those two songs spoke to me and gave me something to look forward to every day. I'm doing much better these days and don't listen to GN'R as much but that record will always have a special place in my heart.
  12. Consent isn't so black and white that you can boil it down to a simple yes/no answer. Her not saying "no" and claiming she wanted it doesn't change the fact that Axl (allegedly) grabbed her by the hair and dragged her down the hallway and into his room with no regard for whether or not she wanted to do it. That's assault.
  13. It's a civil case but the statue of limitations on rape in New York (state where lawsuit was filed) is 20 years, so criminal charges cannot be brought up. Edit from the article: The suit was brought through New Yorkโ€™s Adult Survivors Act, a law that has waived the statute of limitations on sexual misconduct claims for civil suits.
  14. They haven't gone soft, they have just matured as people. Slash and Duff would have been dead if they kept drinking and doing drugs. Steven has permenant damage from a stroke as a result of substance abuse. The riots, among other things, drove Izzy to leave the band and only made tensions between the remaining members worse. Being the "most dangerous band in the world" nearly killed all five of them. Yes, it led to some godlike performances but at what cost? The riots weren't some intentional PR stunt, they were the result of a mentally unstable singer who was unable to control his emotions. It's not 1988 anymore, man.
  15. My avatar is Avicii. He was a Swedish producer/DJ who was very musically gifted and the reason I got into making electronic music myself. My signature is just all of the GN'R shows I've been to
  16. I wasn't a fan of the mix levels on Hard Skool but the mastering sounded fine. Perhaps was phenomenal aside from the little blip right at the start of Slash's solo. I thought his solo fit the song really well. Absurd was a great song, production-wise. I think it could have been a little more fleshed out lyrically instead of repeating the same verse but I get what they were going for.
  17. The most likely scenario is what always happens between tours- complete radio silence aside from a steady drip of tour photos on their social media. Some new merch might come out as well. Honestly I have no complaints about the band this year. We got three new songs, including the holy grail of unreleased CD songs. The setlist seemed to cater more to the hard-core fanbsse by introducing more deep cuts and switching up the order each night. The show felt fresh when I saw it and I think for the most part Axl's voice was pretty consistent.
  18. Forgive me if this has already been answered but do we have any actual proof or connections aside from the title to suggest that Monsters is in fact Soul Monster/Me and My Elvis? I know that Slash and Duff reworked the CDII material but I find it difficult to believe that they'd take what was already a great instrumental and dramatically revamp it like this.
