Hey everyone,
@lame ass security and I have another track out, this one is a favourite of mine and I am really fucking proud to have been involved with a song that love so much! It has taken a while to get this one together due to a friend of mine providing the guitar solo and the creation of an accompanying lyric video, but the final product has been worth the wait. You can buy a copy of Drinkin' In Hell from Bandcamp using the link below:
https://collisongoodman.bandcamp.com/album/drinkin-in-hell
It is also going to be on the streaming services in the next few days, however buying a copy is the best way to support our music. In addition to the track you will also get:
Drinkin' In Hell - Billy's Acoustic Demo (Bandcamp Exclusive)
Alternative Artwork #1 (Bandcamp Exclusive)
Alternative Artwork #2 (Bandcamp Exclusive)
Drinkin' In Hell Lyric Video (Download Link) (Bandcamp Exclusive)If you would like a preview of the track, you can check out the video here:
Thanks for listening/watching!

I enjoy song writing as a hobby. I'll turn off the radio in the car and make up my own melodies. Most of it's worthless, but once in awhile something will get stuck in my head and I'll work it out on the piano when I get home.
I'm a big believer in the concept of songwriters being conduits for what's out there. Really great ideas isn't "created," but discovered. Some times it takes time; some times it comes immediate.
Don't put so much pressure on yourself. If you're not enjoying it, take a break and come back to it.
Yeah I can get on board with that theory. I may have 3 songs on the go and then something comes along and it has to be the thing I focus on. Downstairs feel like you control it at all when this happens.

Realised I started this thread years ago but haven't really added f**k all to it since
Anyway, playing bass with this lot since last year.
We've put a couple of singles out and done a few UK shows including Rebellion Festival in Blackpool.
For fans of The Wildhearts, The Replacements, early Oasis, Slade, Husker Du....
Probably not doing any more shows this year but already got a good bit of material recorded and will be in the studio more over the next few months with a view to getting an EP out on wax next year.
Here's a video we did a few months back.

Nice slice of punky goodness you have served up there!

Here is my latest Sound Of A Gun track, with our new guitarist shredding up the place! You can listen on Spotify here:
Or on SoundCloud here:
Or if you like the track enough to buy it, you can head to Bandcamp and take a shiny copy home in the format of your choice:
https://soundofagun.bandcamp.com/album/strangers
Anyone who buys the Bandcamp release will also get a copy of the demo put together last year when we were preparing songs for the difficult second album at Dirty Snake Mouth Towers as a thankyou for stumping up the cash we would earn from roughly 300 stream on Spotify...

Again, my interception is that this song isn't that deep. It's well written, but not deep. It's simply about Axl's experience with the original band, its break-up, people's expectations etc. That's all.
I agree with this, well either this or the one about shagging.

Keep meaning to try this out but time is limited at the moment and there are many projects that need my attention! I have heard great things about it though and I am watching with interest... Sweet playing as ever dude!

Love the original version and your cover is also amazing. Congrats! Kudos for putting your own touch and personality into it, instead of going for the obvious path people usually go for, especially with ballads like this.
Thanks man, yeah you can't attempt a carbon copy when you do a cover, especially with a band made up of legends!

Thanks for the comments! It took a while to get this one together so I am pleased it is being enjoyed. Those that haven't heard the original should check that and the album out, some fine work by the band.

A cover of the Audioslave track I Am The Highway, Chris is one of my top 3 singers so I chose to do my own take on this cover rather than trying to do a Chris Cornell impression!

That cover by Bach and Axl is a nice hidden gem. Stuck Inside has some killer vocals as well.
Love is a Bitchslap has its moments as well! Mainly when Axl is singing....

Always tough to do a cover. I think you have lost a lot of the momentum of the original, it is not my favourite but the original has a proper drive to it. Also the melody you have chosen is very samey and there isn't much to differentiate the sections of the song.

I got ragged and dragged for suggesting Axl Collaborate with Lil Wayne, a Rapper who has been in the Music Business for 28 years.. Just saying... 🤷♀️
Although IMO your suggestion would be rancid, I am talking about Axl himself rapping rather than collaborating with a rapper.

If the songs fit with GnR's legacy, the risk is very small.
It's only a risk if they would try something completely different. If Axl starts rapping and Slash tries to play piano... yes, they should worry. But otherwise they should be fine
Everyone wants to hear a 60 year old millionaire rapping, what's wrong with you??

At least a few weeks. 😉
The most GN'R songs then. In the last few weeks I heard WTTJ and I think that is it.
