Riad was first played in 2001, so you're saying it was written sometime between 1986 and 1991? Interesting.
Sorry, he must have got that one together in less than a decade. Go Axl.

Yes, a massive lack of lyrical inspiration. After 10-15 years of fucking around in studios.

You should practice the part more before posting a video. Some of the sections you did quite well, but a lot of the phrases weren't correct, particularly some of the bends and if bends aren't 100%, they do not sound great. Watch your videos back and make notes on what you would like to improve, this is what our old band did at rehearsals and it really helped, play with other musicians (especially bass players and drummers) and in front of people. And then record a youtube video. ?

OK, it is new amp time and I have my eye on the Marshall DSL40C, has anyone on here got one and if so, how do they find it? I have played a couple in guitar shops, but would like any opinions from people who have owned the amp.
I will be running it through an Orange 1x12 with a V30, but may also use the stock speaker on occasion.
Thanks!

Fuck me can't believe I fell asleep and missed this otgm live!! If someone here says the band didn't sound sick as hell on this one idk what's wrong with you. Axl sounds fuking great and him and slash both look crazy into this one.
Now that was GNR!
which songs did they live steam. (360 shit) after all
This is a great performance! Probably the best they have sounded so far.

Everything he did was dogshit.

I have never understood the praise for this track, it seems like it is from the same stock as Anything Goes; bland cock rock IMO. Except this track doesn't really have a chorus.
-
Anything they put out will be of interest to me, I would personally like to hear the evolution of songs like Locomotive, Breakdown, Don't Damn Me. They all had interesting structures and great lyrics/guitar parts.

Shrewd marketing; give a media whore a jacket with your band's name on it, free publicity.

You start to get the fundamentals down, that's just great, and that's exactly why it's great for The Ramones, but like I said and I don't think you get it yet, but not for Guns N' Roses.
So what is the minimum amount of chords needed for a Guns N' Roses song?

That's basically AC/DC's entire career in a nutshell.
and good for them! Maybe a 4th chord can help out quite a bit, but a lot of songs do just fine with 3.

Very generic three chords riff, good for a band like Ramones, but not for Guns N' Roses.
It is not how many chords you use, it is how you use them. Three chords is enough to write a killer track as long as you have a great melody.

Wasting Light was/is great.
The guitar work was a step up for the band, but it was not even close to The Color and The Shape IMO.

Similar, different timing on the cord changes though.

This is exactly the same!

That Izzy track from 2012 is pretty good, you can tell that once you got a heavy Slash guitar riff and solo in there, Duff's chorus soaked bass and Axl screeching "my baby ran away to Vietnam", it would be a GN'R track. And about 600 times better.

I also think Axl kind of lost his illusions that fans will understand where he's coming from and accept his explanations. When there was no Internet I guess he believed it was press that distorted his words and for that reason he was misunderstood. And he probably thought explaining directly to his fans will change it. Once he read on the forums what people think of what they heard from him, I guess he concluded it's a futile effort
Pretty much this; he also doesn't need to wait until he is on stage anymore, he knows that anything he says publicly will be on the Internet in seconds, which can also be a good thing, look at the promotion the Internet has done for this tour and the band in general.

I like to attend gigs naked and basted in a mixture of goose fat and crushed digestive biscuits, whilst high on crack. I have a stressful job, so when it's party time, I like to show every other cunt how it's done.

It feels like Guns N' Roses trying to make a revolution again when Hard Rock/Rock isnt mainstream anymore..... If They release more album just like AFD
Why would they do what has already been done? Whilst it wasn't to everyone's taste, the UYI tracks that weren't early to mid 80s leftovers were the sound of a band evolving, which is what a band should do. I want to hear new music, not rehashed.

Maybe there should be an Izzy speculation sub forum....

Wonder if Fortus is going to play Bucket's long solo on TWAT to keep it closer to the album version. I'm hoping it will be Slash delivering a killer old school rock solo!
I am also interested to hear what they do with this; it is my favourite tracks off CD and the solo is great anyway, but given how melodic it is, I think Slash will be able to add some killer phrases and hopefully enhance an already great piece of music.

haha! I bought Chinese the day it came out! Use a usb stick in my car that i converted my cds into digital tracks! So in essence GNR is getting paid more for me t o stream
Not in Canada!
However much you initially paid will probably be the equivalent of a few thousand streams.

Was there really a little old black man?
-
Fuck Spotify. Pay musicians, not streaming services. It will make concert tickets cheaper.

Thanks for the info, I am pretty much 100% on getting one of these now. I had a JCM2000 and 4x12 with greenbacks when I was playing on stage; whilst it won't be an exact speaker match, Marshalls and V30s are still a sweet combo!
