The "reunion" as a selling factor has worn out. These are the final gasps of the package.

a break, followed by Axl fixing his voice to an acceptable quality, and a new album is a proper path ahead should they really want to continue as a band.

If we continued to get a few new songs and deepcuts every tour, I wouldn’t complain. But I do think they’ve hit a roadblock now and the casuals are going to continue to flee. I really don’t know where the band goes from here.

  2. I’ll say also between these two nights I’ve heard a lot of people pointing out Axl’s vocals, more than I’ve heard in person ever. People laughing, pointing out the falsetto, overheard someone saying “im here for Slash, he actually delivered”. Never really heard that kind of talk from the casuals before. Could just be coincidence but interesting to point out.

i haze ZERO reason to lie and i was on NewGnr back in the mid 00s so i know my shit.

I’m not saying you have any reason to lie at all. I apologize if it came off that way. However, more people than not who also had no reason to lie are saying in mass that it’s Slash, versus a handful of people who disagree, so it’s easier to trust the majority opinion here.

If you’re right, you’re right, but I’m not seeing the proof currently. But I will at least say if you’re correct about the quality then it’s an internal leaker and not a vinyl rip.

Its was a gentleman  who made a video talking about the leaks and the authenticity of them. So i checked out the song and i could for sure find the 48.1kHz. i didnt see a 2006 date myself. but again, the audio quilty CAN NOT be ripped that high from a vinyl.

The highest frequency recorded will depend on the track velocity and the size of the needle. Mechanically then, LPs cannot record much beyond 10 kHz without using a smaller-than-standard stylus. In fact the cutoff of frequencies recorded today is around 24 kHz.

they are both digital leaks, not from the vinyl. someone release the generals original demo, then release the general (and monsters) the finished product with it.

Well, maybe then it’s someone who got the NITL mixes.

There are many people, multiple who are musicians and guitarists, saying they swear on their life and are 1000% sure it’s Slash, etc. I’m inclined to believe them because these are users who have been around awhile and have no real reason to lie. And it doesn’t sound like any other CD guitarist to me. Not Finck, not Bucket, definitely not Bumble or Ashba. Besides maybe the end of Monsters which is probably Fortus. If it’s not Slash, which it’s pretty clear it is, then who?

the thing is, there werent from the vinyl. their audio was ripped at 48.1kHz MUCH higher than vinyl quality would have been and i dont even know if its possible to rip or record audio from vinyl that high.. so the general was proven not to be from the vinyl. at least the general was. so it isnt opinion there is some facts behind it. like the meta data showing the general mp3 was originally created in 2006. so there is just so many reasons i KNOW the general is not gonna be on the vinyl. its a VERY old demo

Where’s the post about the meta data being in 2006?

Also, one thing I feel is if it wasn’t two songs on one side, why would the vinyl been delayed? It seems clear to me it was a mistake of having 2 songs on one side without realizing how it would compromise the quality. They released other Vinyl no problem. That and the “The General and Monsters” submission to music databases and people seem very convinced it’s Slash.

  6. I’m surprised how much disagreement and theories are floating out there. It’s pretty clear to me. Both will be on the vinyl, if it was registered as one song on the song databases. It’s not like one just appeared out of nowhere. Also, how would anyone get access to NITL mixes?

I wonder if GNR fans, now that the “holy grail” has leaked, need to find something to theorize and discuss to death since there’s nothing else we can really do it about now.

  7. It’s funny because in retrospect the cellphone clip of “The General” matched the Soul Monster description by Axl quite a bit. I think it goes to show there’s probably a lot that we don’t know about.

Also, sorry if anyone posted it already, but there’s a lyrics in Monsters: “You stole my soul with the devil's Romancing”

To me that confirmed this is Soul Monster (along with all these additional facts). A big theme in Chinese are song titles loosely or barely verbalized to the song- This I Love, Scraped, Atlas Shrugged, Madgascar. It’s already a lot of coincidence to have a song named Monsters as is, but the word soul in the lyrics seals the deal for me.

  8. It’s funny to me so many people believe it’s not Slash on these songs. I was unsure at first but after many listens and trusting opinions it has to be. Which is impressive in its own way to me. In my opinion, this is really the first Axl and Slash magic since the 90’s. I can tell Slash actually really cared and felt passion on this song which I didn’t really feel on Perhaps or the other NITL songs even if I still love all 3.
