I've recently been watching bootlegs kinda cronologically (and reviewing them), right now I'm at the Buckethead era and I'm wondering about which show do you guys think was the best of this lineup. Axl's voice was mostly weak (it has a different kind of Mickey) but the lineup was cool and there was excitement in the air. HOB 2001 and Rio 2001 are classics, Leeds 2002 is pretty cool, Albany has a very interesting and long Axl rant about Slash and Duff and perhaps Bucket's best Nightrain solo. I haven't checked Boston, Chicago or New York MSG and I don't really want to watch all three if they're going to be very similar, which one's the best? Any good show I forgot to mention?

Is there a video bootleg of MSG? Obviously MAG is the best of the tour.

Hell yeah, thank you for saying that!  I truly feel like the entire concept of "insider information" can fuck off too lol.  Either something is gonna happen and we can let GNR make it happen, or it isn't gonna happen and it doesn't matter anyways

"A source close to the band told me..." is so 2006

More people have seen the inside of Fort Knox than the inside of GNR.

I wouldn’t take the release of this song so, um, personally, for the lack of a better word. I have a hard time believing they’ll follow this up with something similar.  All signs point to Hard School being the next bullet in the chamber.  Consider the release of Absurd as forward progress moving towards something bigger and better.

    It’s a start (hopefully).

If anything it should give us hope and perhaps even faith that there’s more to come.

Perhaps hold off on booking anything until you see something that makes sense to you personally. I can’t see tickets being all that hard to get last minute. You’re only unknown variable here is the ability to fly to Florida (which, to be honest with you, wouldn’t be my first choice in destinations).

Downzy what is the coolest place you have seen this lineup? I’m aiming for Dublin next year. I pray I can get shrooms thru customs.

That's just shy of where I'm at. I don't love it, but I do really like it now.

It does help that the worlds foremost authority on all things Pitman (wagszilla) was over tonight as part of my Friday night music gathering.

We played it more than a few times and wagsz preached the word of Pitman to me lol

There’s a guy who loves Pitman that much? Any recommendations on his stuff? I assume he has talent if Axl hired him. But, I’ve never done a deep dive on him.

I remember my grade nine health/gym teacher telling us, with respect to cutting salt out of our diet, that most people can acquire a taste for something if you consume it 16 times.

I think this is what has happened to most fans over the last 24 hours. Listen to almost anything on repeat and you’ll end up finding something to like.

I gave it two or three spins and stopped. I don’t want to like it out of sheer exposure.

But to each to their own 🤪

Life without salt would not be life.

I've listen to the song a few more times now.

I like it a whole hell of a lot more than I did when I first heard it this morning. I like is far, FAR more than any version of Silkworms I'd heard previously. The lyrics are still dumb as hell and I could do without all the effects on Axl's voice.

However, overall it rocks way harder than it has any right to. The how's/why's and wrf's about how it was released are going to be continually debated, so I'm just commenting on the song itself.

I have a strong feeling there will be an Absurd shirt now.

I like the song. Don't mind the silkworms chorus "what can I do with a bitch like you" being cut cause in 2021, it's a little derogatory to women. What does confuse me is the way the line "screaming fucking banshee" seems to come in early. It's not performed that way live, so I'm wondering if it's actually a mistake. If not, I'm not particularly sure what it adds to the song. Part of me what I think is great, is the flow from the "full of magots" to "dizzy little dreamer" and the trip up in rhythm before hand hinders it a little.

That line was cut in 2006. Some guy tracked Axl down at a party took a picture with him that said Silkworms or something. Axl told him he cut the chorus.

    Downzy,

Ive seen a couple. One for high traffic and one about being a member. I don’t contribute funds to the site, so if that makes me a member or gives me access I gladly do so. But, I’m actuality asking for clarification. Any assistance would be appreciated.
