Can't imagine the amount of NDA's that exist relating to Axl. It honestly must constantly give Axl the shits having to know that what is said about him publically can get turned around quite easily. No privacy.

Did he continue to play it or was it a one off. That's why I threw it in there even though Izzy is gone maybe. And Flamenco solo would be perfect going into If the Word.
Setlist note #7865
intro tape This Life SOA theme
nightrain
easy
brownstone
jungle
Double talking jive
if the world
Godfather theme
Scom
Ycbm
DTJ has been played by slash several times the past 12 months so it a very high chance you would assume of being in gnr set & yes a good lead in maybe to Piano moving before November?? Allows Axl to recover. The other given at some point I think is So Fine, Duff posted a set list with it on but was never played in 2014

Really they're gonna give Fortus some solo time when Slash is in the band? Not even Fortus should like that idea, he knows there are gonna be about as many people coming to see him as there are people coming to see Titman
Every guitarist gets some sort of solo in guns, re Gilby on UYI tour, it will be short but you would think Richard should get an intro solo to either Better or L&LD as he has done previously. Slash will own November & Estranged which will be a staple rather than splitting the solos like DJ, Richard & Bfoot did previously. Hopefully slash has an extended rocket queen solo & DTJ which he plays with Kennedy.
As much as we would all prefer Izzy, Richard is a great guitarist & Slash would not play with him otherwise.

I don't think there is one song Duff sings that I want to see them play....
So fine?? He has to have an opportunity, he always has since illusion tour & btw Tommy & Bfoot go to also. Would prefer Izzy on 14 Years or Dust n Bone's but am quite happy to hear Duff. Can do without Attitude, if they want a Spaghetti song on the set play Hair Of The Dog or Down on the Farm like 2006.
Or Cornshucker.......

With Izzy gone it's down to what songs Slash will add like Garden of Eden, Double Talkin, Bad Obsession, The Godfather theme.
Duff may bring some My Michelle, Attitude, Raw Power, So Fine.
Agree, now Izzy gone I think Steven will most likely also not be involved, at least for the so far announced shows. New Set minus Izzy & Steven:
Realistic New Set: Jungle, Easy, Brownstone, Civil War, Better, Richard Solo - L&LD, Attitude, So Fine, Rocket (slash extended), This I Love, Dizzy Solo:Street Of Dreams, YCBM, Out Ta Get Me, Double Talkin' Jive, Godfather, Sweet Child, Axl Solo, November, KOHD, UTLH, Don't Cry, Nightrain. Encore: Estranged, Whole Lotta Rosie, Patience, Paradise City
Alternations: Michelle/OTGM, Rosie/Nice Boys, SOD/Catcher, So Fine/Raw Power, UTLH/You're Crazy
-
Now that Izzy has denied involvement will Steven still get a guest spot? I will change my setlist under setlist thread.

I had said it earlier but I couldn't think of a way Jungle could be played outside of opening the show while still having the impact I believe the song deserves. Doing it to open the encore with the original 5 proves I didn't think of everything. That would be absolutely incredible.
Yes!!! Changed my mind, Jungle as Encore with Adler & Stradlin. Maybe finish with November before the encore then play Jungle?. But what to open with? What about Easy? Great Opener or in that fact go Nightrain, Brownstone, Easy.....
Realistic New Set: Nightrain, Brownstone, Easy, Civil War, Better, L&LD, Attitude, So Fine, Michelle, This I Love, Dizzy Solo:Street Of Dreams, Intro Izzy: 14 Years, YCBM, Exit Izzy, Out Ta Get Me, Godfather, Sweet Child, Estranged, KOHD, TWAT, Axl Solo, November.....Encore: (Original 5) Jungle, Rocket Queen, Used To Love Her, Patience, Paradise City
My Dream Set add Pretty Tied Up, Hair Of The Dog, Think About You, Back Off Bitch, Coma & Madagascar

Sub one of the Chidem songs and LALD with new songs and this would be a dream set
Can't see TIL or Better missing. Dizzy may change his intro but I can only see him playing SOD or Catcher. Madagascar I still think is unlikely to be there anyway. Only CD tracks omitted from my suggestion to replace would be TWAT or Shackler's. How about replace with Nice Boy's? L&LD very hard to replace, surely one of Axl's favs. If so, let's let Richard do Better then go into Estranged. Problem is I think Estranged should be after an encore so Slash can show his best on it.

Hopefully they spice it up and close with something other than PC.. I know they probably won't but I liked it way back in the day when PC wasn't always the closer.. As for an opener, almost anything off Appetite works. Or even Nice Boys!
I know there were some early , early shows before PC, didn't they close with WTTJ & RQ ??
I think opener has to be WTTJ with Slash to play the first chords tease. Love Nightrain but like it better as song before encore. The ultimate unrealistic opener: Coma

i am nearly 100% sure that Slash mentions in his book how he and Izzy wrote Locomotive while they were both stoned or something very much like that
i am sure someone on this forum can confirm that
Not sure, will check the book out tonight again!! What about Back off? Great track written early with Tobias but good chance Izzy was part of that as it was 83/84?

Izzy was a big contributor for sure.
These are some that were written without Izzy:
Breakdown
Civil War
Coma
Dead Horse
Don't Damn Me
Estranged
Garden Of Eden
Locomotive
November Rain
I think they've proven themselves as competent writers. I consider the above good music.
Definitely think new music without Izzy would be good, in fact CD was a very good album, just too delayed & too much collaboration over too long. i.e. Madagascar on that album surely was recorded in early 2000's compared to say Shackler's. Having said that, without Izzy's writing there would be no GNR as what we love today. I still think he will collaborate at some point with Axl/Slash for new music if he hasn't already.

good to hear
Definitely good to hear Marc's take on it. How about the Ritz 88 setlist with the original 5 then Illusions & CD as an encore with Richard & Frank?. Well now there's a show.
-
Agree Steven will be at the end of gig & possibly before encore, definitely can see Nightrain as a possibility as he has played recently with 'ADLER', just can't get me head around him playing drums in Patience, was there much patience drumming back in the day?? I know Matt made it happen in 1991
-
I think Adler is in for a 'guest appearance' only. Can only see maybe UTLH or You're Crazy who knows. Don't think Matt is involved at all however he did just play with Duff. Where does it end?
Can't have Frank then featuring Steven, then featuring Matt? Don't think Izzy will be involved either after recent comments by him.
I see Axl, Slash, Duff, Richard, Frank & Chris that's it. Slash is the big return, not the others.
Sorry add Dizzy
-
I can't imagine Steven playing on any UYI or CD tracks if asked to be a special guest at anytime on tour??
My thoughts if he does get the chance would be limited to UTLH or You're Crazy, maybe towards the end of a set. I think Frank will handle the rest.

Step 1. Vegas
Step 2. Reviews
Step 3. Axl

Would love Duff to accidently break into So Fine.....
-
will they play a gnr song or just ace of spades?
-
Love them all including SI which I think is a very underated album. Getting specific here including singles & most played from each:
UYI I - November, Back Off, Coma
AFD - Rocket Queen, Jungle
Lies - You're Crazy, Million
UYII - Breakdown, Locomotive, Estranged
SI - Hair Of The Dog, Down On The Farm, Ain't It Fun, Game
Era - Rocket Queen, It's Alright, November, Pretty Tied Up, Jungle
GH - Sympathy
Chinese: SOD, TIL, Madagascar
EOD - Oh My God
WTTJ - You're Crazy (Alt)
It's So Easy - Rosie, Shadow
Don't Cry - Don't Cry Demo
-
I met Dizzy in 2013 & can I say he is a great guy. That aside he was & most likely still is, very good friends with DJ however when I offered him a UYI disc with slash on it to sign there was no hesitation. I feel Dizzy will be loyal to whatever line up takes the stage. Would Dizzy & Slash go drinking after, doubtful however it will be a professional relationship for the good of the band. In a nutshell, Dizzy is essential to the band & his piano work is a staple.

What lines (if any) from Chinese Democracy songs do you believe are about Axl's former bandmates?
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS

There may be a few in the CD album but a definite one from Slash's point was 'Crucify the Dead' : "We had the same dream, lived life to the extreme, a loaded gun jammed by a Rose"
