  1. I have friends who are working at the show, They were laying the flooring down last night in the rain.
  2. This will all be very funny to look back at when the song is available on streaming services. Fernando already confirmed that it will be on streaming services. You all are ridiculous sometimes.
  3. No way that Axl was ever planning to go from playing stadiums (50K people) with Slash, to playing theaters (10K people) and Las Vegas residencies (4,500 people). He would have had to find three new band members and no musician worth a damn would join NuGuns in 2016. There's no way NuGuns would have ever continued after Coachella and the warm up shows.
  4. Counterpoint: They had at least 18 years to release the songs. That's more than enough time to release music. Can't blame the fans for listening when we have been starving for a long time.
  5. This doesn't really mean anything. I don't think Team Brazil is telling all their plans to the organizers of this festival. This is a promoter using vague language to try and sell more tickets. I recall some overseas promoters saying NITL was 'Guns N' Roses' final tour of _____" in some promo materials and that didn't end up being the case. Same thing here.
  6. Someone on reddit asked him: "Will The General be released to music streaming platforms?!" And he replied: "Perhaps." That's both an obvious pun and also confirmation.
  7. Seconded. If they are really worried about ticket sales then lower the prices and you'll see the venues filled to capacity. There's a lot of potential ticket buyers who take one look at the prices and change their mind.
  8. Axl and Slash are the only members the general public cares about. Duff is an added bonus but his presence alone doesn't sell additional tickets. All of those people in the crowd would still be there if it was Tommy Stinson playing with Axl and Slash. Adler and Izzy would increase interest among the hardcore fans but the general public already thinks Fotus is Izzy. I had an argument with a fellow student at my college because he told me that he saw the "original lineup" of GN'R in 2016, I'd be willing to bet that a lot of the audience at the shows also believe they are seeing the "original lineup"
  9. Abysmal. Please delete this and never try something like it again. AI is an offense to art.
  10. It's possible but the timeline is extremely tight. We know The General was started from a sample by Brain. Brain joined GN'R in March 2000. State of Grace is dated March 27th, 2000 making it extremely likely that State of Grace pre-dates Brain joining GN'R and is therefore not The General. Based on all the dates on the CDs, it appears that Brain didn't really start working in the studio until Fall 2000.
  11. I recall a Tommy Stinson interview where he stated that after he left the band he tried to get permission to record and release some of the demos he wrote for GN'R that were never used and his request was denied. He was told that some of his demos could be used in the future. I also recall Axl's post on this forum in 2008 where he listed an Izzy song from 1995 among the songs that were in consideration for Chinese Democracy. These two recollections suggest that Axl hoards all material written by former members for potential future use, no matter how old the songs might be or how long ago the band member left.
  12. At the very least they could have dropped Scraped and replaced it with Atlas. That would have improved the album. I think others on here have said before that if they trimmed out the 1:00 intro on Chinese Democracy and the 35 second intro on Riad then they could have fit Atlas within the CD's time limits as they were attempting to do.
  13. I am convinced that releasing an albums worth of singles instead of an actual album is a technique to avoid the expectations and scrutiny that comes with a full album release. Dr. Dre used this same technique when he released 6 singles at the same time last year instead of bundling them together as an EP or album. He was able to release new music without having to face the expectations that come with the idea of a "new Dr. Dre project". Seems Axl is following a similar idea but he is leaving long gaps between the release of the singles.
  14. I agree. I made sure to say that the demo version of Atlas didn't live up to the hype. The final version could be better or worse. In my opinion, most of the Chinese songs were better as demos and the final versions are way overproduced and bloated. So I'm not holding my breath for a finished version of Atlas.
  15. Yeah. Comparing it to November Rain was a bad choice and when combined with 18 years of positive comments from band members and collaborators, it set the expectations way too high. There was a feeling that Atlas was going to be better than the songs on Chinese because it was being saved for the sequel. But I would say the demo of Atlas is of equal or slightly lesser quality than most of the songs that made it on Chinese Democracy.
  16. Shows how strained the relationship between Slash/Duff and Matt is.
  17. Messing up the promotion of a new single this badly is classic Guns N' Roses. The eight year production hell of Chinese Democracy broke Axl's brain and he has never recovered.
  18. They absolutely can. Plenty of older bands are always on tour and only play the hits with no new music. They just have to put enough time between their visits to each market. If they play a city, don't come back for 3-4 years so the demand can grow again. At some points they may have to downsize venues or add a co-headliner if demand is really low but then after a while demand will pick back up again. Throw in some festivals here and there. Maybe even another residency in Vegas. They can ride it out for another 10+ years until Axl is ready to retire.
  19. Adler once claimed in an interview back in 2016/2017 that he learned to play the entire GN'R catalog in preparation for NITL. Personally, I never believed that claim. The idea of Adler learning to play My World or Scraped or Oh My God is laughable in my mind. He later contradicted that claim in a different interview by saying he would only be willing to play songs from Appetite + GN'R Lies + Civil War and some of the UYI songs. Regardless of who you pick, the return of Adler or Izzy would limit the setlists, as others have pointed out. I don't have a problem with Frank and I like Fortus quite a bit so I'm fine with the lineup as-is.
  20. Yeah. Chinese Democracy has five credited mixers: Mike Scielzi, Paul Saurez, Axl Rose, Caram Costanzo and Andy Wallace.
