  1. Those guys from the Guns N Roses band seems really cool lads and have a nice 80s retro vibe. They should record an album, they could be big!!! 👀
  2. Perhaps, pure speculation and wishful thinking about they could pull off going back to Slash repertoire. The Snakepit albums and stuff like Bad Obsession and Locomotive are very bluesy driven and I'm sure some people will want/expect some GnR. I'm sure there will be some rocking stuff Repertoire. Doubt it will be only the new album that they play. We'll get a better idea of the direction after he releases a 2nd single. It seem like a good chance to go all balls out without the GnR staples and SMKC on his back.
  3. Got ticket for The Greek! This is the day after my birthday. Kind of wish I would have waited a bit for the vinyl, now I got two signed. So stoked! I wonder if we will get more Snakepit stuff Jazz Da Pit, Good 2 B Alive, Beggars, Serial Killer, Life Sweet Drug, Been There Lately are some stuff I'm hoping to hear or even some obscure GnR. Would love Back Off Bitch, Bad Obsession, Locomotive, Shotgun Blues (?) Of course the new album in its entirely, hopefully some Slash solo, would love to hear We Are All Going to Die. Not all entirely blues, but hoping for some rocking stuff as well. So stoked about no Wichita Lineman, Live and Let Die, KOHD, and Rocket Queen (fingers crossed)!!!
  4. Do we know the pre sale codes? Can't seem to find the email link field for the newsletter.
  5. Slash is smart. I don't think him releasing the single on Friday was just coincidence. This will generate buzz due to Ryan, Barbie and the Oscar's. If rumors are true, tour announcements this week will be a good move! Wish my favorite band would make smart moves.
  6. Can't get over the song, I know it's a cover but I find it very refreshing how different it sounds and pull away from the traditional Slash sound/tone as well as Johnsons vocal performance. The licks, vocals and Steven harmonica mix well together. I play the song on Amazon music and really like the booty twerking animation 🤣 Overall excited for the album. I'm not too familiar with blues but I keep playing Killing Floor and Black Betty (Metal Church cover) back to back. This song instantly made me think of this Black Betty cover.

  9. It's very very different than Slash has ever done. His whole tone seems to have changed. I would have never guessed that was Johnson singing. Never really been a blues fan but I'm really digging this. Love the riff and the solos/licks are kinda of cool! Saw the song list and guests and I'm very intrigued. Orgy of the Damned starts now!
  10. First reaction is AI mixed with live footage. It's like Fernando saw that AI ad ran by a Russian company that steals your information on Facebook, clicked on it and uploaded his picture and liked it so he uploaded a whole GnR drive and we got this. Not bad but, just not feeling it. It goes with the theme of this and Monsters but not feeling it at the moment.
  11. I love Slash, he's the reason I play the guitar but I agree that his take on Chinese Democracy has little taste, he does try to hit certain key notes but overall is just doodling that goes nowhere like he's trying to play fast like those players without the melodic control he's known for. I did enjoy the most recent shows and noticed that Fortus was handling more solos which I found great; they should focus on the areas where they shine. On the other hand his melodies in Monster are pretty sweet and reminds me of the recurring melodies from Estranged within a darker song structure.
  12. Absurd: - 1000000000000000 (Live is fun though) Silkworms: 5 Hard Skool: 7 (get rid of the bell and it would be an 8 or 9) Perhaps: 8 The General: 6 Monsters: 7 or 8 The last two I need to listen properly and in my car.
  13. Releasing Absurd as the first single was very fitting 🤣 At least we can still enjoy the original 1998 Axl Leaks Demo https://youtu.be/KtY9S6NCaQ4?si=7HxqoI9ekrbRBMpO
  14. The early 2000s were wild. I got into GnR through Michael Jackson and Slash contribution. Appetite For Destruction was my first album ever and I was blown away by the music, it was a life changer for me and i was hooked into music, iconography and raw energy and power. I listened to their discraphy and started to play the guitar and piano because of Slash and November Rain. The End of Days soundtrack was the first soundtrack I bought, primarily because of GnR new song. It was different but loved the evolution in sound, I loved the industrial aspects of it. GnR was my gateway to heavy metal - Metallica, Megadeth, and such. I recall watching the MTV Awards with Jimmy Fallon whistling Patience, wearing GnR themed shirts and going nuts as he welcomed everyone to the jungle. I went nuts. I didn't knew the band that was playing, I knew it wasn't going to be Slash and Co but it was GnR on television. I recall hearing Madasgcar and was floored, it was beautiful. I still look at the video and it's total disaster in its absurdity but look at it with fondness. I recall visitng various forums, HTGH, this one, among others. I recall some of the first shows and downloading bootlegs of the Chinese songs. I recall The Blues, Madagascar, Silkworms and loved what I was hearing and the progression, how it changed and evolved over time. I would listen to those bootlegs with my friends and recall hearing similarities in Axl voice and his approach to vocal melodies to Geoff Tate (Queensryche). My first show ever would have been in San Diego (2001/2002?) but eventually got cancelled and I was bummed. I still have the stub. It wouldn't be until 2010 that I flew to Calgary to see the band. There had been cancellations, rumors and a lot of uncertainty and felt that was my time to see them. It was January, and I got my tickets the day before, it was also my first time on a plane, and out of the country. All I has on me was my backpack, with extra clothes, jeans and Harley boots - I was metal as fuck. I got to Calgary was was welcomed by a sea of cascading snow. I didn't care. I went to a near liquor store next to a Cafe and got myself some jack and coffee to keep me buzzed and warm. I explored for a while got a room on site and headed to the venue. Guns N Roses was on fire. I didn't take that many pictures, I was far away in the seatss behind the floor but scared Axl would jump at hit me. Amazing show. Everyone was on top of their game. I didn't really mind Ashba, I thought he fit in. After the show I went to a local strip club, got a nice vibe going but because of that I missed the last train to my hotel so I had to walk for 45 minutes. Next to my hotel there was an Irish Pub so I got more Whiskey to keep warm. The whole experience was great. I then saw that line up again in Inglewood with my GF at the time. They introduced Estranged. Another amazing show. With Fortus, DJ, and Bumblefoot I thought they were on top of their game, Axl was sporting those cool shade, braids and cut off flannel shirt and had a cool goatee. He sounded pissed and ready to conquer. Around that time I had also seen Slash multiple times, once in Vegas when he was doing the Slash and Friends shows where I got to meet him and Duff; Duff actually came up to me and my buddy. He was lost looking for the venue and I was wearing a GnR shirt. He was cool. I really was looking forward to hearing what this version of GnR could come up with as I thought Chinese was democracy and their best since AFD; if not the best record by any band since AFD. I never got to see the classic line up and dreamed of seeing them but was against the reunion without releasing music by the Nu-GnR line up and Slash and Co releasing those songs as opposed to newly written songs. Hearing the new songs are pretty cool and am glad the band acknowledges them but you can't deny that it's missing the Bucket, Bumble, and Robin touch. I do like that Fortus has been doing more of those solos. As for the latest releases, they are cool but I miss Silkworms and prefer the Perhaps over the released version, as for Hard School I dig it but there was a certain flair to the demo that's not there. Perhaps I shouldn't compare them but it's hard not to. Hope that we eventually get official released demo versions of those songs somewhere down the line. I like that GnR is finally moving in the right direction but that does make me miss the nuGnR as I wished they had their time to shine and work on releasing new music, showing what they could have done collectively.
  15. Can't join the waiting room for November 1 and the clock for November 2 has been at 1 hour for an hour now 🤣 OK, waiting
  16. Amazing show. Axl seemed to be in a good mood. Fortus and Dizzy also seemed to have a bigger role and moments to shine. I also heard Melissa a lot more with percussion/tambourines etc. Here are some of my pics https://instagram.com/c.huerta.photos https://www.instagram.com/p/Cx5AjFmueAB/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  17. I think I know what you are getting however, i do not get any AFD vibes from Slash, not that it's bad, it's pretty straightforward rock n roll which I persoanlly like but AFD had a lot of guitar interplay between the guitars with different layers. Definitely. I'm glad people are enjoying it. I know live I will definitely be singing and excited to hear these songs...even Absurd for some reason. For me, I have a lot of love for this band and then I see how a band like Helloween handled their reunion and it just seems perfect. GnR gave me the biggest blue balls for the last 7 years due to lack of material and it's been painful. Helloween reunited and kicked ass by releasing an amazing new album that blew up and everyone was on board; hoped for the sake with GnR since they started it all for me. Looking forward to hearing the songs live for the first time.
  18. It's growing on me, not sure of the solo. It's not bad it's also not memorable. I think I like the Village version better. From the songs they have released so far I would rank them as 1. Hard Skool 2. Perhaps 3. Shadow of Your Love 4. The song formerly known as Silkworms In retrospect I'm glad to that these singles have been released as just singles. There was a lot of talk about the unreleased big guns and after hearing the Village demos I find these song to be underwhelming that releasing them as part of a full length would have been a disaster. If they are releasing these tracks to get them out of Axl system then hopefully the new (hopefuly) GnR album includes brand new tracks we haven't heard before and that are written by this line up. Wishful thinking, I know. The added Piano at the end, sounds comical to me and this quickly came to mind. https://images.app.goo.gl/XuJmiScSuvySipXc8
  19. Who would have thought I would hear a old GnR song at a bar while sticking dollars on a strippers thong!
  20. 11:58pm is mandatory Iron Maiden time Edit: Followed by GnR new single? Its foreshadowing the Power Trip Friday lineup
  21. Based on that clip and the Schenker picture, I'm convinced the cover song is by UFO. Trunk has gone on record saying that Strangers in the Nigh is one of his favorite records. Not convinced it's for a tribute album, I'm leaning more towards a Schenker solo album due to having Micahel Voss in the studio. Schenker last album featured a cover of In Search of Piece of Mind; I believe that's the first song he ever wrote and was in the Scorpions Lonesome Crow. I'm cautiously optimistic, yet excited at having Axl, Slash and Schenker on a UFO track. If he can do vocals ala Sebastian Bach Angel Down then this will be killer. I'm actually more excited over this than Perhaps 😅 A safe guess would be Doctor Doctor as the cover track. It's just a classic. This is my favorite take of Doctor Doctor Schenker recorder in his later years. I wouldnt put it past him. Two of Schenkers last albums cover mirror Biblical imagery where he is pretty much the Jesus figure getting crucified in a Flying V guitar and is the center figure in a Last Supper type of photo. 😅 Despite what Trunk said, I think this will be a MSG record featuring a UFO cover song.
