I've mostly given up on any GN'R discussion on the forum, plenty of people have made it quite clear that there's no room for mature discussion with anyone about preferring a line-up sans Duff and Slash or talking about the period of following the band that they did enjoy.

It's not "Well, I disagree with you, but I'm sure you have your reasons, what are they?"

It's "You're a fucking moron and you can take your bullshit opinion and fuck the fuck off, while everyone laughs at you". There's nothing enjoyable about a discussion like that, so why bother?

Yeah, I miss the old new GNR

    How amazing was Glasgow 06?

  2. Was lucky enough to see the 2006 line up put on an incredible show with Izzy guesting on a few tracks, and it was always exciting hearing tracks like Better before the album was released. The 2002 line up has got to be my all time favourite version of GNR. Spending hours downloading tracks from the monitor mixes of those shows on a dial up connection was so worth it!

same way here lol downloading soundboard bootlegs on dialup i remember my ISP would disconnect my download if it went on for more than 30 minutes i kept trying to download the 2002 show from the mellon arena from pittsburgh so i had to find a software program that would save my download and restart it automatically while i slept lol

Haha the good old days! Think it took me around 2-3 hours to download The Blues. Think I had it on loop for 4 haha!

  4. Still he should go on stage at the time he is suppose to I mean he's 50.

    What time is that?

Hopefully they don't fuck people about too much with a long wait tonight. It was just 22:05 the last time in Glasgow and already folk were going a bit mental. Several thousand pished up angry weegies takes a bit of effort to win over.

What a night that was! Sadly can't make it tonight as I'm down in England for Uni, but my bro is there tonight. Think they got the pacing a little better with the support slot this time.

  5. Seeing him in June in the UK, seriously can't wait. Seems like forever since the WOAD tour, and I'm equally psyched to see the new songs live. Death to my Hometown is coming across incredible, and Wrecking Ball into Badlands or Prove It will be exhausting haha!

  6. Wow, I guess the sellout $lash, has much to learn from this guy... :violin:

fuck off cupcake, difference is Ron is doing this for the fans, and hes not profiting for it , its the company

and seeing as you brang slash into this argument, that sellout would steal a shirt of a fans back if it meant he could trade it in for 10cents or 5 seconds more of limelight.

of course he does it for the fans

So he just does it for free, and meanwhile feeds a company with 2$ a head without getting his share, and even for something that if he really wanted it to be free, could perfectly do it on his own. You seem like a big fan of him, the guy is talented and I respect that, but please get real.

$2 for a 30 minute guitar lesson from Bumble is a pretty sweet deal

  7. I'd say the most important thing is being able to write a good song.

    :shrugs:

yeah, but if you can't navigate thru all the shady passages of the business, you and your good song will forever stay in obscurity.

False. Those shady people want to make money. Nothing makes money better in the music business then good music. Even if you aren't going to be the artist that performs and/or records the music, good song writers are ALWAYS going to have a job in the business.

But you still have to navigate your way to them, and pray they don't rip you off your publishing, and pay you a fair amount. Believe it or not, not everyone in the music business is honest and has your best interest at heart.

Moreblack knows what he's talking about, love hearing interviews like this

  8. This would be really cool. I wouldn't be able to do that though. Can you do it Indigo?

I don't have everything out there and there are some concerts with little known rants. I have a tape from 1987 where Axl starts calling an audience member a ''bad word for gay person'' and a ''pussy'' in the middle of a song and starts challenging the audience member to come on stage (to fight), but I forget which '87 tape that is.

With so many concerts it would take a few people working together I think.

The only show i can think of when reading this is the show at the Paradiso, Amsterdam when someone in the audience started to irritate Axl during Knockin' on heaven's door.

I'm pretty sure it's from one of the Marquee shows, possibly the first. It may not be the one he's thinking of but it definetly happens there too.
