I like it. Sounds pretty fun.

So, how long before we get the April Fools' album jokes? I know they started early at the end of last year with that whole Atlas Shrugged album and ridiculous artwork, but they should be ramping up again by now.

I like Perhaps the most, but never listen to it. The rest range from dreadful to mediocre.

I'm more likely to perform at the Super Bowl next year than GNR would be.

I'd say it was far easier in the internet age. The likes of The Beatles, MJ, Elvis, Madonna etc had to rely on people actually going out of their front door and parting with their money to listen to their music. Streaming is far easier to do and many people stream music they would never think of parting money for.
It's also a bit sad how impressed grown men are with her popularity. Are we in high school or something?
I don't think you understand how many variants of the same album Swift's fans will purchase. They're rabid. And they'll happily shell out the money for these variants. It's not even a question.
I mean, sure, they don't have to get in their car and drive to the record store, but they're spending the money. Believe it.

To many people on this forum are still stuck in the past and that's the problem with many who post on this forum.
It's not the 90s anymore...
Music video directors don't exist anymore nor do record labels have the money to invest in a product that doesn't give them a financial return.
The band have released a music video that fits in with the current state of today's music industry, including the cost factor and holding the copyrights to their own content.
Some of you seem to think this music video was released to make some money.
The music industry doesn't make any money anymore, hence a less cost effective alternative..
Thats why many artists release animation/lyric based music videos or are remastering previously released albums.
This post must be AI because I haven't seen a lot of people talking about GNR wanting money from putting this video out there.

If anyone can spot an album release date in there, I'll paypal you 5k.

Right, or something like this, the video for the general just stinks. It's amatuer hour.
That's who the band should've gotten for this - Jess Cope. Incredibly talented.

Such an amazing song. Nice to see it isn’t always going to be forgotten.

Hopefully alongside "The General" music video, we get a release date for the next album. That would be a treat.
Let's hope it is better than GTA 6 did though, and not scheduled for 2025...But GTAVI actually took some effort.

Never got the hate that Get in The Ring gets. Of course it's not their best song, but it's nowhere near as terrible as people here make it out to be
Not their best song by a long shot. It's the purest definition of filler.

Maybe you're reading my posts as more 'serious' than they are, idk. A cheap video for a throwaway song really isn't a big deal, but it's all we've got to discuss so that's what we're doing.
You think I'm imagining the sloppy details in AI animation? Take a closer look at the clip then.
There's some weirdo's on here who jump on any criticism as 'whining' or 'hating'. The clipping in The General should've been addressed before it was released, but those who point it out are 'bitching'. Sloppy AI shit from a band that absolutely could afford professional animators deserves criticism, but those who point it out are 'whining'. Give me a fucking break
Of course it’s whining. Meanwhile, GNR could post a video on social media of a dog shitting out a log that somehow looks like the AFD album cover, throw The General on over it, and you’d get the same posters saying the same thing: “At least we’re getting something! Better than nothing! Whiners!”

The old videos are cringy as hell. But the songs behind them are behemoths to this day. They always will be.
These songs will have lacklustre videos, which fit the effort behind the songs. I’ll gladly take overblown, jumping marine wildlife, over-the-top any day of the week. We all know we’re not getting anything close to that effort with whatever this will be.

GNR thinks it’s outdated to release albums, but half-assed music videos? We’re back in the 90s, baby!

Moaning and bitching about the band for years for not releasing music and shit and when they do and they announce something, you just continue complaining WITHOUT even knowing the result. You don‘t even bother waiting to see what this music video will look like. You don‘t even know if it‘s just a music video but you still decide to criticise it for fuck‘s sake!
I want my favorite band to make music and release music related stuff, not some fucking toy trucks! And when they do, that’s something positive in my mind. I‘m happy about it and I’m excited UNTIL I get to listen to what they actually did. THEN I can judge if it was worth the wait or not.
The way you act is just laughable. They could easily wait for the next tour in 2025 without releasing anything. The fact that they wanna release something this early in 2024 could mean they‘ve plans to release more later this year. And if not it‘s still better than releasing nothing.
I’d much rather be smoking crack pipes than whatever you’re snorting with this response.

Wonder when the last time the words 'new album' got actually spoken to Axl?
Probably around the time Bumblefoot got his marching orders.
Probably just by proxy for other people's work.
"Hey Axl. Wanna sing on Schenker's new album?"
"Yo Axl. Myles and I are just finishing up our new album."
Something like that.

I don't know if the interest is here for GNR, but this is a great thread on the Led Zeppelin forum-
Basically, it is a look into determine what are the "best" live versions of each song. I remember years and years ago, some on here did something similar for NuGNR to make Live Era '01- '10, which was pretty cool! Obviously, this is all subjective, but it is a great way to get some live gems out there and known.
