  1. I mean, yeah, he said your take was subjective and then you said thinking CD was better than Black Ice and Death Magnetic was not realistic. Saying it's "not realistic" implies you think our opinion is objectively wrong, you see? Anyway, this is really a minor thing that shouldn't derail this thread. lol All is fine. Hope The General is released on Spotify this week and, who know, maybe Monsters shows up soon enough.
  2. It's the way you worded it. "It's your fandom talking. You're not being realistic. Both albums were better." It's all fine. Just pointing why we answered like that.
  3. Nah, I'm with Voodoo on this one. I find CD a million times better than Death Magnetic and Black Ice. It's subjective, of course, but you really can't call it a fact. Being more successful says nothing about the quality. I much prefer something different and interesting like CD than a lesser rehash of past material.
  4. I still hear "Satan laughing", but it could go either way, I suppose. Even if it's "satanic", it's so close to War Pigs' lyrics I can't help but wonder it's intentional, which would be cool.
  5. Yep! They sound a lot like Ozzy and even the verses on that song sound a bit like a sped-up War Pigs to me. There's the "Satan laughing" lyrics, which curiously are on both songs... maybe it's an intentional homage?
  6. I don't think any article said The General was about child abuse prior leaks. However, I'm 100% there was an article that said there was a Chinese Democracy song about child abuse and some people assumed it was The General. Then, there was the "there's a child chained to the bed" line in the Evader mix and many more people (including me) jumped on that theory, which is kinda hilarious in retrospect, given the lyrics were completely wrong and that song wasn't even The General. lol Still, against all odds, we ended up being right and The General really was the song about child abuse. That's wild.
  7. Because Evader, just like the rest of us, thought the leaked cellphone clip was from The General. He was mistaken. You can ask the man himself if you want to. It was Monsters (almost certainly Soul Monster) all along, we just thought otherwise because of the orchestra.
  8. Yep. We can compare the middle solo from Monsters. Both are great, but very different. I think I slightly prefer Slash's, but both compliment the song very well in their own way.
  9. It's either that or the solos + Axl's screams in TWAT. Didn't vote because of that. It's a really tough choice between the two, which of course means Monsters is amazing.
  10. Yeah, I agree 100%. We might be wrong, but there's just too many coincidences not to think that with the information we're given. The Black Sabbath vibe (Axl even sounds a bit like Ozzy in the verses), the mean bridge... the lyrics even say "you stole my soul", for God's sake. Again, we might turn out to be wrong, but it all fits so perfectly for this to be Soul Monster.
  11. I love Children Of The Revolution, but I'll always put original compositions ahead of covers.
  12. I certainly didn't answer all of them. And I'm surely not an insider, I'm just speculating with the information you brought. I'm not trying to be an asshole here. You gotta know we get kinda skeptical with insiders and people with friends in the industry, which doesn't mean I think you're talking bullshit. We just have reasons to doubt anyone who makes such claims. You see, what intrigues me is that Monsters fits so perfectly with Axl's description of Soul Monster (Sabbathy and meanest bridge he ever sang) and simply has both "soul" and "monsters" in it's almost Occam's Razor to speculate they're the same song. Of course, sometimes Occam's Razor gets things wrong. Then, there's two other things that bother me with this: if the song got split into to, why would it be registered as one entity? Also, how the leaker would have access from a version of Monsters with Slash if it's not in the Perhaps vinyl? They must from the very, very inside. Again, I'm just a curious fan and never meant to be rude. If you do have some information to share, it's cool that you're doing that. Anything more you can tell us?
  13. So, just for clarity, you're claiming you do have inside information and The General was this 9 minutes song from the beginning that got split into to so one half would be the B-side to Perhaps and the other side would be the B-side to Atlas? And that Soul Monster is a whole separate song? Is that it? And, if so, if The General was split into two song that will get released individually, wouldn't they be also registered individually? And that also implies the leaker has access to more than just the Perhaps vinyl, otherwise he wouldn't have leaked Monsters.
  14. I mean, you're either an insider or you're just speculating as much as I am. lol
  15. Rememeber that Soul Monster was orchestrated by Marco Beltrami in the same sessions he worked on The General. I believe they were always sister songs and Axl just decided to mash them together.
