  1. I wouldn't be too worried - he still relies on the Derrig in the studio and don't see that ever changing. Like said above, Slash is going to sound like Slash no matter what he is playing through, especially with his Derrig plugged into a JCM 800 or Silver Jub. From an equipment standpoint [particularly amps/ effects] there is so much more out there than 30 years ago so its natural that any musician is expanding/ experimenting with their tone palette. Wonder if he had the Magnatone in his rig on this last tour run? I saw them in Houston and his tone was spectacular [Richard's as well]. I think his tone sounded better on this tour than it has since he got back with GNR.
  2. Just now getting a chance to get on here and reflect on the show. Maybe I'm biased because of the energy that GNR brings or that I haven't seen the band since Dallas 2021, but they were f'ing spectacular last night. Axl sounded the best I've heard him-- I need to go back and watch a few youtube vids, but I don't remember much mickey at all and he was absolutely bringing it the entire night. I don't recall him ever moving around this much or genuinely having this much fun. The sound was awesome -- well mixed, great volume and both Slash and Richard's guitar tones were perfect, particularly when they were boosted for solos. Setlist was amazing - Street of Dreams was a treat and definitely think Slash played it with a more fitting, composed solo than some of the noodling I've heard previously - in fact, I think a lot of his noodling was cut down in general. For me, 9 songs out of the 30 played that I hadn't heard live yet. I don't know how to post pics on here - so I dropped a few pics and videos into a dropbox link below - Slash cut his finger on his picking hand during PTU and you can see blood under his bridge pickup on Jessica - very rock n' roll! Other highlights: Slash yelling 'Hey Fuckers' before Reckless Life was awesome... Perhaps sounded AMAZING, great song live... even songs that are more difficult for Axl [NR, SCOM, etc.] he was giving it 110% effort and they really did sound great. Overall: This was possibly my favorite GNR show to date - I'm incredibly grateful the band is still out there touring and pouring every ounce of effort into 3 hr + shows. I'm very happy and humbled to have seen the band last night. Enjoy the pics and videos! https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/iosxhaf0lk2q7xvi2ygod/h?rlkey=a3hsaas3d5a66ja3yaqcyl0ab&dl=0
  3. Is AIC at 6p and GNR 730ish? Seems early, can’t imagine a curfew in downtown Houston.
  4. Where is the best place to get a litho before the doors open? I assume the merch truck outside? Wanted to run it back to my hotel before the show if at all possible. Thanks!
  5. I don't think they are necessarily disrespecting or flipping off the European fans...from what i can tell, the European shows ticket sales have looked pretty strong and the NA leg looks like a disaster right now.. assume they are saving any new material to prop up the NA leg and the lagging sales.
  6. Typically the band or their management is not responsible for the ticket pricing -- the band usually gets paid a prenegotiated flat fee for the show and the promoter can use whatever shady methods they choose, dynamic pricing, drip-feeding crappy seats, etc. to maximize their profit.
  7. I think you're spot on - he's rolled off the volume knob overall in both GNR and SMKC for the last several years.
  8. I’ve felt like his tone has ‘evolved’.. sounds like the volume knob was up higher in the 90’s and is probably 5-6 now. His guitar doesn’t drive through the mix the way it did in the 90’s. The tone obviously sounds pretty compressed over streams/ cell recordings as well which doesn’t help.
  9. Wishful thinking - would love to drop the acoustic version of Patience and go back to the UYI era electric version. Tokyo 92 may be the best version of Patience ever.
  10. The Garden Pretty Tied Up Dead Horse [slow down the tempo a bit from when they tried it a few years ago] Breakdown [not holding my breath] Bad Obsession
  11. Looks like a capo but there might something else on there. Slash is crazy good on an acoustic but this mix is pretty subpar, couldn’t really hear Duff’s bass in the mix either (not surprising as the sonics on most of the Selects have been weak).
