1992 São Paulo
First time seeing them live at the age of 15 was a remarkable experience at the top of their game.
2001 Rock in Rio.
Axl returns with a new band and that cause me mixed feelings. Had to wait nearly 3 hours after Oasis concert to see they on stage. I noticed Axl voice wasn’t the same already at that concert, and he was only 38 yo. The crowd was spectacularly supportive , but I remember like it was today the feeling of watching a cover band on stage.
2016 São Paulo
Not in this life time tour, good show, knew the setlist by heart, and I left the show before the end to avoid crazy traffic around the stadium. I was getting old and not that excited about my favorite band anymore.
2022 Rock in Rio.
Horrible concert, Axl’s voice was poorly mixed and he sounded tired and lazy.
Probably my last GNR concert.*Next week Slash plays in São Paulo and I will be there.

Toxic masculinity my ass. Those fuckers have no clue about GNR and what really means to have a singer at 61 performing this way.

I don't know if this is the right thread but here's Matt, Gilby and Baz playing Patience:
This is a joke. Seriously. Embarrassing.

The sound mix here is shit . Wayyy too low …

Just horrible. I wonder if Axl approved these “selection of shit performances”

In my opinion Axl lost it in Rock in Rio 2001. I saw them in 1992, and I was present at the show in Rio in 2001. I was shocked with the whole band, and mainly his performance on stage . His voice was different, the outfit was strange and that didn’t sound good to me .
I saw them again in 2016 am for me that was the last time. I follow them since I’m 12, saw them live at the age of 14, 23, and 40. It’s a lifetime band for me . But I can’t understand how Axl managed to change so much through the years, and for me that change started back there, Rock in Rio 3. -

There's Brazilians everywhere
Did you manage to hear something from the outside?
Lol... I know, right? It's funny how this band is so connected and successful in Brazil and whole South America. I saw them playing for the first time in São Paulo - UYI 1992 and also in Rio 2001 when I still lived in Brazil.
My wife and I kind of got tired of walking around the Troubadour and being kicked out from the VIP/ Band street access all the time by security guys who insistently said we could not stand there and everybody should move. I eventually started to walk in small circles and managed to piss them off. Finally we letf around 11:00 without hopes to see anyone from the band or get tickets...

I was in front of Tower Records by 9:30 after dropping my son at the school. Too late! The cops let us know there were no more tickets anymore. Late at night I went to the Troubadour with my wife to check the atmosphere and who knows maybe have some luck. Beta Lebeis passed by us with her kids, and since my wife and I are from Brazil I quickly understood them talking Portuguese. I didn't want to ask for anything. It was just surreal to see all that happening in front of us... Still can't believe we were so close. Saw Mike Clink, Del James and a couple of other around was kinda cool as well.
Slash played Don’t Damn Me with Todd Kerns on vocals
