  1. Yeah, I saw Slash fucking chucking a water bottle that was way more dangerous in Rome
  2. Not only that, he was fucking jamming by the third chorus! Great performance from Axl, you can feel it really means a lot to him! Loving the song more and more, can't wait for them to play Monsters live
  3. No one takes away anything from that era, but if I fell in love with Guns for those times I wouldn’t have stuck around if not for this new kind of music. As with everything in life it’s about the journey, you know
  4. It’s a work of art. Straight and simple. I listened to them separate first and together later, and I can’t express in words how surreal and intimate the whole experience was. It’s a very personal and daring, creative, all around genius way to breathe life into a song. It’s the kind of raw writing that feels almost gut wrenching, coupled with some very interesting and tasteful melodies both in the vocals and in the guitar. Man the breakdown guitar lick just before the angry bridge got me moving with it. In a way it’s what I was hoping for, it seems like an evolution and at the same time an experimentation with the sounds and the general vibe that cut through in a way that other attempts (shackler’s, absurd, oh my god) didn’t really get to. If that’s Slash playing there he absolutely outdid himself and dare I say connected with the song in a way that we maybe never heard since the reunion, even on the the old stuff. I may be overexcited but this really seems a confirmation of the heights these artists can get to, the songs separated may not be hits or easily listenable but as a whole experience it makes you dive in a hole that only true sincere meaningful art can do. It’s out of this world.
  5. Biased much? At least if it's a piece of crap it is such as a whole, but sure, let's give a pass on the solo Just cause it's Slash playing it. I don't mind the Song and I find this new version "tastier" in a sense, I really like the double tracking in the solo and the some of the choices they made in the arrangement. I gotta say that the best thing about Duff coming back Is that the songs seem to have a much sturdier foundation to them from a rhythmic point of view, something that I can't tell why couldn't be possibile with Tommy who I really appreciate as a player. I personally prefer Robin's take on the solo, but it's a shame cause Slash always seems to have a good instinct and a very good creativity in what he plays, if only he gave it a bit more effort.
  6. Didn't Fortus and Slash trade solos on Absurd? There are a couple of lead licks in there that no way they're Slash's
  7. I much prefer Slash's solo on Better than Finck's, even if post 90's I prefer Finck's output and general taste and ability rather than Slash's.
  8. Fun fact, if anyone didn't know about Tom, he also appeared in a couple episodes of Trailer Park Boys! I think he's actually presented as Gnr's tour manager on there
  9. Man to say I'm envious is and understatement... Really wanted to hear Prostitute live
  10. All while dancing and running all over the place for 3 hours straight! The more I see him live and the more I can't explain how does he have that kind of stamina.
  11. What kind of fucking idiot spends money for a ticket and then screams to the frontmen he gave money to? Fucking waste of a brain
  12. No I think that's Just him, I waved at him after Patience and it seemed like he was giving me the stink eye
  13. So, the ears are still buzzing from the noise and I got two hours worth of car sleep but I'll give my own review of the show! The venue management was a joke, more than 32 degrees Celsius and by noon they still hadn't figured out where people were supposed to get in line, but that's my country's organization to y'all folks. Still, Circo Massimo Is nothing short of a wonderful venue (albeit very very dusty - so much that after Pretenders they had a bunch of guys vacuuming the floors with Dyson thingies) in the absolutely mesmerizing Rome, so it was pretty much a perfect fit for the show. The show was simply kickass, about 45k people and the performance stepped up to the plate! The band as a whole confirmed that even if they're getting old they're completely on another level than the current standards of live music performances these days. The setlist was perfectly paced by starting with an electric and fast first half that gives slowly way to the classics with some Deep cuts spread here and there. Axl was firing on full cylinders and compared to last year not only he was less bloated and cracking jokes (), he had a sort of almost manic energy that I never saw him have in my other previous shows, AC/DC included. Vocally you can tell (especially if you saw him in 2016 or earlier) that he's losing a bit of power, but you can also tell that he's playing around and finding out where he can push with his new range. So where he lacks he tries to make up with some enunciation tricks (Hard School verses come to mind) or by giving a full effort in a clean higher voice. All in all he sounded really solid and while his voice used to cut through the band and the arena now it's consistent in a way that maybe wasn't before, and it actually sits in a good place between the instruments and Melissa/Duff. He was dancing, running around and owning the stage in a way that a 60 years old guy shouldn't be physically able to do in any way imaginable! Loved him I thought Slash was a bit more focused on his playing and gave a clean performance, his status and sound carries part of the show by itself even though he maybe improvised some stuff in places where in the past he wouldn't. One of my biggest surprises was to see how Richard, Frank and Duff really gelled and interacted together in giving a very thick but very tasteful backbone to the band, they are the definition of tight and I didn't imagine they had this good of a chemistry together. The whole show was a joy to behold, and it really gives a vibe of having the right amount of improvisation in a really well crafted setlist routine, meaning that you could see the band choosing on the spot which song to play in places but still keeping an eye to the pace and flow of the show. I guess all I can say is that the band and the show are really really worth the money and the effort to get to see them, they gave it their all and most of all you could feel their love in playing and giving a show to the people! Now a bit of biased opinions and Little tidbits: - I really think they found a nice staple to Rocket Queen and KOHD, the former is now well paced and has a very funky vibe, the latter Is wonderful in a way that gives 2006's version a run for its Money - Fortus Is fucking amazing, truly underrated and was happy to see him buddy-buddy with Duff and Slash - Gonna repeat myself, but I really didn't think that Duff, Frank and Richard got on so well, they really are interacting most of the time between themselves while leaving Axl and Slash to do their frontmen stuff - Axl was very talkative and joking around, although I think he was getting pissed off at times because of technical issues - which Pretenders had as well - or some other stuff, you could see him talk a whole lot on the mic and the band members suddendly turning to him in a puzzled way, especially during Wichita. Nonetheless he was joking around with the band wives and friends, he really had a playful vibe - While Axl and Slash rarely interact with each other while playing, you can see them joke and discuss between each other between songs from time to time, I nearly died out laughing when after Paradise City coming back on stage Slash just fucking chucked a full bottle of water into the crowd, Axl had a laugh too cause he clearly could've gave someone a fucking concussion in the way he had thrown the thing - The Berlusconi bit before PTU was hilarious, nonsense taking It seriously - Really can't figure out why people spend hundreds if not a thousand Euros to just sing Sweet Child of Mine and Welcome to the Jungle, not even Nightrain - I didn't know if it's new or not, but Slash's solo Is actually really fucking good! Slash himself tends to hyperfocus and go all in, noodling in places I have to say, the band behind him Is really really tight! Makes me wonder if It was born as a song, but It gives me the vibes of something new wrote together - Axl was clearly dying to wear the gladiator helmet on stage, and repeated the "are you not entertained?" phrase so much and with a shit-eating grin that I'm pretty fucking sure that the idea to put It on the litho was entirely his
  14. Just back from the show, he actually dedicated PTU to "Silvio Berlusconi and his bunga bunga parties", which was pretty unexpected and a genius move I Guess he also dedicated Kohd as to not cause any fuss (cause Italy Is a backwards fucking country where Silvio is revered as a Saint) and because after all a man died, so it's a kind gesture.
  15. Apparently security doesn't have a clue about the entrances, people getting pissed off all around me
  16. Yeah, all jokes aside this is some of the worst scum begging for attention, they're not worth anyone's time, even less from the band
  17. I think to debut It tonight would be a nice gesture for the cancelled gig last year. Would be a very Axl thing to do I think.
  18. I'm pulling this out of my ass, but I'd assume that the all alone now line is the one sung by Axl and by the soundcheck the other stuff sung by Duff/Melissa/Dizzy. I'd personally do "all alone now" by Axl, the "save me" line by Melissa and the rest Duff/Dizzy with the Axl sample.
  19. I very much hope I'm wrong, either way our best bet is Gnr's unpredictability I guess!
  20. If it's based on the audio clip It seemed to be a clipper snippet triggered by Melissa pretty much likes the screams in Absurd, but I Mlmay be wrong
