"My biggest 'Spinal Tap' moment was definitely [playing with GUNS N' ROSES at the] Rock In Rio [festival] in Brazil in 2011. And it was pouring rain. And the rain was like a few inches high on the stage; they were sweeping it up. It was almost as high as the top of the pedal boards. I remember pyro was misfiring. It was that wet that it was just crazy. And I remember trying to play on the fretless guitar, and my fingers were so pruned up, my skin was so… And I couldn't… It was like trying to play on a wet balloon — trying to push through it all; everything's soaked."
He continued: "There was this lovely girl in the front row that had a 'Star Wars' stormtrooper helmet that she was holding. And I said, 'Yeah, give me the helmet,' and I figured I would put it on and play with it on for a bit. So, I got the helmet, and I put it on my head, and as soon as it touched my cheeks, it's like it fused to it, 'cause my skin, everything was so wet. And I remember just saying, 'Oh, shit.' And as soon as I said the 'S' curse, everything just fogged up and now it's, like, 'All right, I have this helmet that is gonna take a little bit of effort to remove.' And that's not good when you're trying to play guitar in a song. And I can't see anything; it's completely fogged up. And the iconic solo [to 'Welcome To The Jungle'] that I had to play was about to come up and it was, like, the opening of the show and everything, and it's, like, 'Oh god. This is not gonna work out well.' So if I remember right, I managed to get the helmet up at least like over my eyes and keep it there. And then I think I nodded, like, 'Ah, good.' And it flopped right back down. So, it got to one point, like halfway through the solo, where I just had to stop playing and pull this helmet back so I could see what I was doing. And those few seconds that I stopped playing, he next day I got hundreds — hundreds — of furious e-mails from Brazilians, saying how I like destroyed their life and death threats and all this stuff. And to this day, 12 years later, every once in a while someone will send me an e-mail with a screenshot of me wearing that helmet, saying, 'Ha ha ha.'"
They spelled DJ Assbas’s name wrong

The guitar on Monsters does sound more like Slash or even Richard. I'm also no expert! The faster / shredding outro of TG is unlikely to be Slash. Could be bucket or bumblefoot perhaps?
If they were leaked as 2 separate tracks they could well be from a while ago and the final version could sound a fair bit different in terms of the mix. I think that these are the finished versions of the songs/song on the whole though.
Yes maybe some mix changes will occur but I would be surprised if it was any more than that.
Exactly, that outro is Buckethead or Fortus, period

Some very obvious things that people can't seem to grasp:
It's one song, we have legal proof of this
Slash is on it (or 'both' if you insist on that)
What we have isn't a vinyl rip
It's not a demo – what we'll get eventually will sound the same, the only difference will come from the quality of the file itself
Seriously, the theories beforehand were bad enough, but now we have the songs the stuff some people are coming out with is downright baffling – it's all staring you in the face 😂
Amen and spot on Do

You would be correct sir, that Buckethead zip and precision, there is no other 🤘

Out of curiosity, would something like Rock the Rock suffice? Or a faster pace?
Rock the Rock was actually quite refreshing, mainly cause Axl didn’t have time to over think things and went in and made a quick / catchy tune that rocks

Just throwing it out there, the writers for ‘ Paradise City ‘ were all five members, and that song is easily in top 3 Gnr songs of all time( commercially too)

I’ll take the Cincinnati show ( Steven’ s first time playing with Axl, in awhile) 👍🇺🇸

I love CD too. I'd put Hard Skool above Absurd, Perhaps, Scraped, Shackler's, Riad, Sorry and IRS, even though the main guitar riff is basically just a variation of the "Dead Horse" riff cranked up to 11. It's a solid rock song, catchy, melodic, good chorus and Axl sings it very well. I have no idea why he left it off the album and re-did it with Slash and Duff suffocating much of its initial spark. This would have brought the house down on the CD tour. With Slash and Duff it has become somewhat of a generic turd. I really don't like any of their input on any of the CD material at all.
Perhaps sounds like three different fragments that had potential but were not taken any further and then randomly smashed together without any connection or flow whatsoever and then copy and pasted with until they could blow the initial 1:30 minutes of actual music they had into an excuse of a single. I love that piano riff, it had so much potential, but after hearing the final product I'm just super disappointed.
Absurd....I could see the 30 seconds of actual music that are there being put on an album as some interlude or some punk lights on now get the fuck outta here track, but the final product is nowhere near worth a second listen at all. As a fan who has followed and supported the entire CD era (plus all of the classic years), I was shocked when I realized they were basically just taking the piss by putting this out as their comeback single. I have stopped attending shows around that time. The fact the Slash noddles on it doesn't make it any less of a piss piece.
Overall I'm just super disappointed of Axl and the rest of the band too. Will cut the guys some slack any time for all the joy and inspiration their music brought to my life, but three way of least resistance piss tracks in a row while charging and arm and a leg at the door and coming up with absolutely nothing original to show for is really pushing it.
Shacklers Demo Is still a decent song, love Bucket and Axl on that demo

The current state of GnR is the most depressing, ever. The wait for Chinese Democracy was great in comparison.
Now, we're starving for shittier versions of CD leftovers, badly mixed, with no promotion and even that is an annoying nightmare. Wow.
You said exactly what I was thinking Mr Guapo ( beautiful ly I might add ) 🤟🏻

Hard school in concert soon and then out as a single, that song will get a lot of airplay especially with football starting up, marketing is very key part to getting these guys taken seriously again, ( they have the kickass music most importantly), but that machine is what helped them churn out ‘Dont cry’ in September ‘91 and a lot more hit singles up till June of ‘92 I believe, needless to say I was a senior and those songs are burned in me in a great way , each song had its own hit video to boot

Hoping 2-3 singles by November , then Boom! Mid November , Album! Merry Christmas 🌲🥂

I believe GN'R will perform Hardskool live on this tour and release it digitally as they have done with Absurd. Regarding a release, there are two ways i see this going:
1) Absurd and Hardskool will comprise a standalone single release (A/B sides) with digital and physical products.
or
2) Absurd and Hardskool are singles for a new album, which could be announced alongside Hardskool's single release.
They could even do both.
Hoping we get 2 or 3 singles over next 4 months , I really don’t think Absurd is gonna get radio play cause of all the cussing ( too many bleeps)

The Catcher demo is hands down my favorite song on ‘chinese’ , it had the most powerful and heartfelt magic and soul since Axl did November Rain, he has these songs in him that are beautifully constructed and with his voice and soul are pieces of art come to life, we all knew Axl was a different kind of performer and that’s why we love him 🤘
Sorry back on topic, I love the soft Axl voice on the breakdown , it goes from super hard and filthy to Angelic and it just works

It is what "original" means I have never understood why this rubs so many fans the wrong way. It doesn't in any form or shame reduce the significance of the AFD lineup, it doesn't in any shape or form means that the original lineup was important or anything, it doesn't in any shape or form means that Steven. Slash and Duff weren't extremely important members of Guns N' Roses. It just means they weren't the first.
I am a hardcore AFD lineup fan. To me, that was Guns N' Roses at its best. But I can still at the same time admit that Rob Gardner played drums in Guns N' Roses before Steven did, that Ole Beich played drums before Duff did, and that Tracii Guns played lead guitar before Slash did. Steven, Duff and Slash are still awesome, just not the original band members. They can be awesome and be second.
1 hour ago, Free Bird said:To me it's not about who's awesome snd who's not. It was a group of people who were trying to find the right lineup. They were playing around at this time, with the band's name and with the members who were coming and leaving again. It happened that the wrong lineup used the right name first. They still weren't the band we used to love.
If Rob, Ole or Tracii were there when Guns got singed by Geffen, if it was their signature under that contract, or if their input had been on AFD, then I would say, ok, they deserved it. But that's not the case.
But before it gets outta control again I think we should agree to disagree on this.
Amen! Those chaps that took over after Slash/Duff were Also called GNR but we know who made it all possible to get those timeless songs on AFD and it was AFD only that mattered........ period!

They want us to wait another full year ...............fuuuuuuuuck this band! What a joke, turned into fuckin motley crew

Officially retire the band Guns n Roses, cause this band is not Guns n Roses , anything more is and would be a Blight on their hit albums, ( just see ‘ Original Star Wars Trilogy ‘ and why everything after has soured those seemingly untouchable Masterpieces , Cocksuckers !!!
