The whole miscarriage story is so unbelievable, it’s ridiculous. I think anybody, fan or not, would question that.

Also the wanting to get together with the band members to talk. She was constantly begging them on social media for tickets to shows and for them to let her backstage so they could reconnect and “put the past behind them”.

Now she mentions Geffen were on the phone to her as well back then pressuring her to drop the charges against Axl, never said that before but since she joined this group of people vs UMG she suddenly remembers that Geffen were involved, too.  She did say many times that they were about to be signed and she kept her silence so they could be - so you’d think she would have mentioned people from Geffen calling and pressuring her as well wouldn’t you.

Yes, and I assume if she were to give a deposition or sue, the lawyers would instruct her to not include the miscarriage part in her story.

I also suppose that she was  instructed to be specific about the "gang rape", so she now remembered that there were two other men besides Axl (before that she was saying that she couldn't see, didn't know how many people there were there etc.. And she was probably asked about the record label, since the music industry is the main target of these organizations' campaign, so she suddenly remembered that Geffen called her, too.

He doesn't look very happy, but what else is new. At least it's good of him to take pictures with fans even as he's evidently not too thrilled to do so.

Based on video evidence before and after taking other recent (2023) pictures with fans, he's all happy and normal. He just doesn't smile when he poses for the picture (I guess he thinks he looks better when not smiling).

Not sure weather putting this here was the right place for it but this is a new picture of Slash in his home studio today and from zooming in you can tell he's recording something personally wouldn't suprise me if it's for the next SMKC album slash said he was hoping to record at the end of the year of course GNR is always going to be a possibility with one of these as well as something slash is guesting on in the future.

If someone wants to post the picture from it here then please do because I'm not to sure how to

I still find it strange people say Axl really cares about getting these songs out there. it's 2024 and of the 32 done in 2006, 18 have been released officially. considering nearly all of those songs came from the 98/99 sessions we're talking 26 years later. I mean, did he even expect to live this long? he's 62. and he still hasn't released them. That doesn't smack of someone that gives a damn about these songs. maybe he did between 98-2008. but he hasn't given a damn since.

Like I pointed out earlier, there's strong indication that Axl bought the master recordings of these songs from the label, so he has spent his own money on them, which in turn is an indication that he cares. And I suspect that this is a big part of the reason he's been releasing them now and not earlier.

Now, why the songs are being released at such slow pace, I don't know. Axl's perception and sense of time is different than ours.

Reading between the lines with what Slash has said, these tracks were Axls idea and Slash viewed it as a vehicle to get to a proper new record. They almost definitely wanted to go in and make a record and Axl pushed the breaks wanting to get these songs released first.

I'm guessing the GNR engines will start revving up towards the end of this year... I'd assume there's going to be more touring before they contemplate a record, but I'd like to believe what Slash said was going to materialise, I guess he's free from about September assuming he doesn't book more shows.

Slash has said he plans to record new SMKC in the fall. And Duff will be touring at that time.

I wouldn't imagine 'pressure' is the term, but given their productivity and activities outside of the band, it must be clear they get restless- and surely they must have made rumblings about new music on several occasions and asked questions about it...otherwise even the little that has happened wouldn't have done.

I can't see Axl being the driving force on them recording their additions, especially given he seemingly did nothing new himself to the tracks.

Yet, according to all sources and everything that has been documented, it was Axl who wanted and asked Slash and Duff to rework these songs. Although it's safe to assume that Slash and Duff would prefer to work on brand new music, they agreed to work on the CD era songs because Axl wanted it and probably seeing it as a step towards potential new music.

So, even though I'm sure they would like to record new music, they wouldn't suggest to re-record these songs themselves if Axl didn't ask them to.

My best guess is these songs are getting released because of pressure from Slash and Duff, who are probably a bit embarrassed about the lack of music and sick of having people ask them about it in interviews. I'd wager musician friends of theirs in other bands ask a lot too.

If Axl cared about these songs he wouldn't have allowed them to come out so badly mixed and produced. The impression that comes across is that he couldn't give a shit about how they sound.

I don't agree that Axl doesn't care. There's been effort from him behind these releases but it's not "recognizable" or gets overlooked, because it's more about non-creative aspects.  Although we don't know the details, based on the credits it seems that Axl has bought the master recordings of the songs from the label, and that the re-recording and production have been paid for by GN'R (not the label). He wouldn't have done this if he didn't care, would he?

As for how they sound, he has signed them as co-producer, so he's responsible for it. I don't know, maybe he thought that's how they should sound in terms of "modern" production aimed mainly at streaming services.

What about his comment that Greg Gilmore was supposed to be the drummer back in 85, but ousted, and Izzy was the purely a songwriter who wasn't supposed to be the image of the band and that the whole band was basically industry-manufactured?? This is completely off-the-wall but Abbruzzeze should know what he's talking about.

I think he apparently doesn't know what he's talking about regarding this subject:

Is it me or does this sound like Axl / his representatives do acknowledge that the encounter did happen?

So far I only knew the version where he stated that he doesn't remember having met her, maybe taken a fan photo in passing, or something like that.

Here it sounds like it did happen (with consent) ?

    https://societyofrock.com/axl-rose-gives-response-to-sexual-assault-lawsuit/

No, this is just based on Axl's answer that was filed about 3 weeks ago:

    https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/fbem/DocumentDisplayServlet?documentId=OxMPP/i5Z5i/N/ZGv1TCYA==&system=prod

Axl's attorney's merely point out what Sheila Kennedy said in her book and in the Look Away documentary, but deny there was any sexual activity as alleged in her lawsuit or any of the alleged conversations. It is not denied in the answer, though, that she may have been in Axl's hotel (it says Axl has no "sufficient knowledge and belief" about that = he doesn't know/remember).

If they released all 12 at once, there would 2/3 songs that every fan of GnR would like though. That's the point. Nobody expects 12 classics and an all time great album either from scratch or CD leftovers. The point is, releasing 1 song at a time and then nothing for a year or so means that single song gets scrutinised to hell, then moved on from quickly. If the single they choose to release is more experimental or weaker, then everyone piles in and says the band is shit. If Absurd and The General are on a 12 song album which is coherently mixed and ordered, with songs that are radio friendly (hardskool, atlas) and more epic and AAA songs (Monsters) then people will find the ones they do like and be more positive.

When you buy an album, if you like 4/5 songs on it, you'd probably say it's a decent album. If you like 6+ it's a very good album. When you release one single, if you don't like it, thats it. You dont like. everything is negative. It's almost like axl can't bear to release these songs, then when he does, he's so scared to fail, he releases them in a way where they are doomed to fail so he can just accept it. It's bonkers and no one else with a marketing brain would do it this way. But this is Axl. and TB. they're from a different planet

This could work all the same if the songs were released close to one another, e..g. one song every two months.

I don't think that Axl's insecurity is the main reason for not releasing these songs as an album at once. It's mostly that while a standalone song is just that, a non-compilation album represents more than just a collection of songs. It's a statement. And what statement would an album like that make now? It could be neither the follow-up to CD (since that era is in the past) nor the "reunion" album. So, since these songs were not released as an album in a timely manner, they now stand in a void, especially as they contain ancient vocals and drums. It would be different if they were fully re-arranged and re-recorded. It also will be different if they are eventually compiled into an album after they're all released as singles (because that would be a compilation album), which is likely to happen.

The same songs that would have made up this album are also not being received well outside a small core of diehards ... ??? It doesn't matter what way they chose to release them, the general public thinks these songs are garbage, and quite frankly, so do a lot of the diehards!

I wasn't talking about the quality of the songs (which is subjective), but about the fact that, regardless of the quality, I wouldn't have liked an album of half-rehashed CD era songs as the first major release by the threeunion lineup; and that an album like that would have been rejected on the get-go by the media etc. (regardless of the quality, again) just because it would be from the CD era, so it would have been worse, imo. The only way an album like that could work would be if the tracks were fully re-recorded and there were a couple of newly written ones.

Yeah I'd agree with that. I have no issue at all with the Chinese leftovers getting dusted down and released- but just do it.

I don't see what possible advantage there is to sitting on them for months and months then releasing one song before killing the momentum again for another long period of time.

If they came as an album, 10 or so songs, properly released and promoted, it would have far more impact.

Although I think the piecemeal approach was the best for these songs (because I wouldn't want the "reunion" album to be CD era songs - and I also think that, for the same reason, such an album wouldn't have been received well outside a small core of diehards), I agree that they (Axl) shouldn't wait that long to release them. They should have just released all of them within a year. So just release the rest of them and get over with it.

It's up to 1.4 million views in 6 days now. He even has Rick Beato as the top comment posted as he called it "killer".

I am genuinely surprised at how many views it has gotten as it's not like he spent months pounding the pavement about the project or single release date. It all seemed to happen kind of fast frankly, so to see such a big/strong reaction so fast suggests people are spreading the word to check it out.

It's kind of cool people still care like they do, and that a cover of a 60 year old song by Grandpa aged rock n rollers still gets people excited.

It's not so surprising, really, if you think of it as GN'R + AC/DC. Even just a portion of the fan bases of the two bands (especially AC/DC - I can imagine how many AC/DC fans would be interested in new studio vocals from Brian) would be enough to generate these views. Plus, it's good, so many of the people who checked it out have probably watched it a few times.

I would look forward to it as I think blues songs would fit his voice as it now. Plus, the lack of pressure to come up with quality new material could be a plus

    Completely agree.

Really....when the alternative is what we get - nothing on tap!  At this point, beggars REALLY can't be choosers...of course we all have preferences but surely, any recording activity would be almost universally praised and received...

Allow me to strongly doubt it. But let's hope GN'R release an album or EP of covers, so we can find out
