  1. According to this one, the song Jack White was going to be on was one of the songs Myles sang: Slash: I did the record with Eric Valentine who is the most superb producer and the perfect guy for me; it was almost like match made in heaven for this project. Originally Mark Ronson was slated to do it and there was this one song I couldn't figure out who was going to sing it. He suggested Jack White and I thought that'd be interesting so he went to Jack White and Jack said, "I'll play drums on it, I'll play guitar on it, but I won't sing on it." And for some singers that's a very personal thing that they do within the confines of their own group. So that one didn't happen. Another one, there's an instrumental on the record, and Dave Grohl was playing drums and I originally wanted him to sing it as well but he was like, "I don't like doing guest spots. I suck at it," so we just made an instrumental out of it. There was one other guy I couldn't get because of contractual [reasons]. Everybody else I was really fortunate to get and for the song that Jack White was going to do, I ended up working with Myles Kennedy which was a blessing in disguise. [ L.A. 2. I didn't expect anything more than a vague answer, but it was less vague than I would have thought.
  3. Slash mentioned Jack White not wanting to sing, but not what the song was: Slash: I wanted to get Jack White to sing on something, but he didn't want to sing. He said I'll play drums, I'll play guitar, but I don't wanna sing. He was one guy that I wanted to work with. Pretty much everyone else that I went after I managed to get. 4. From a new Duff interview: Q: Duff, am I allowed to ask if Guns N' Roses are going to do a new album? Duff: You're allowed to ask whatever. I mean, there's things that have happened and more things to happen. So I think you'll see, that question will be answered soon enough. 52:41 minute mark:
  5. To be fair, we don't know if Slash asked Axl and Axl wasn't interested. He doesn't have anyone else from GN'R on the album, current or former (there's Teddy, but he's there because he was in Slash's Blues Ball), nor anyone from SMKC. Probably he wanted it to be a separate thing from this other two bands. Axl said in 2008 that he was listening to a lot of old blues. And: (there was also a video from the same event with Axl jamming Sweet Home Chicago, but I can't find it now).
  6. He is aware RHRM: I was timing you to see how long it would take you to say “all things considered”. You did it in less than four minutes. So that was a good one. Ha ha. SLASH: Ha ha ha. https://www.redhotrockhq.com/slash-no-elephants-in-this-room/
  7. I strongly doubt it, since Myles is not on the album at all (thankfully), nor are any of the other SMKC guys.
  8. I can't help thinking that if Brian Johnson could sing this song in his lower register and sound this good, Axl could do that, too.
  9. It's not new. It's compiled of interviews Slash, Duff and Dizzy did for the "Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction" series in 2014 and 2015:
  10. If Axl played piano on one of the tracks, it doesn't make much sense to me that he'd be on an original instrumental and not on one of the covers.
  11. Yeah, @kingcanyon posted about this, too. But it's confirmed (official press release) that the song is an instrumental, so the only way this could be true is if Axl played piano. And unless the person who made the comment is one of the engineers listed in the credits for Killing Floor, they're just trolling.
  12. Yeah, the media have picked up Axl's answer now, although it was filed about two weeks ago (was posted in this thread then). Axl's lawyers haven't filed a motion to dismiss yet, though.

  14. Press release (confirmation that Metal Chesnut is an original instrumental): The album concludes with a soaring original instrumental number, "Metal Chestnut", penned specifically for "Orgy Of The Damned" by Slash. https://blabbermouth.net/news/slashs-orgy-of-the-damned-blues-album-to-feature-brian-johnson-iggy-pop-paul-rodgers-others

  16. You can listen with VPN set to Australia Yeah, it's not Brian's signature AC/DC voice, but it's him. Sounds great.
  17. I expect it to sound something like Slash's solo spots during the 2021 and 2022 GN'R tours, where he jammed blues classics (Born Under A Bad Sign was one of them, iirc).
  18. I like the idea of a blues covers album, so I'm not disappointed . A couple of months ago Slash described it (without mentioning it would be covers) as mainly blues, with some old school rock 'n' roll and R'n'B. My guess is that it's Brian. I don't think Wichita would fit, as it's a more country-crooner song. I'd love a GN'R studio version of it at some point, though. And I hope Axl is on one of the covers of blues classics, although he most likely won't be.
  19. The album contains big-name guest stars such as Guns N’ Roses Slash playing guitar on the single ‘‘I’d Like to Help You With Your Problem’… “I’ve bummed 300 cigarettes from that guy during my career! I asked his people about appearing on the song, and 40 minutes later, I got a text back saying ‘Slash loves the song. He wants to know what style you want’, and I replied: ‘Well, fucking Vietnam-era acid rock, dude!’. He ended up doing these amazing Guns N’ Roses ‘Don’t Cry’ riffs and it just fits the song.” https://www.nme.com/features/music-interviews/the-dandy-warhols-dig-was-a-huge-turning-point-it-was-brutal-for-us-3578366
