Oh that sounds good!  Sorry about that last picture.   Oh yeah, I'm eating that right now.  Yes that's a cow tea kettle.

Forgot I got my sister in law Tom Petty's Wildflower cd for Christmas on amazon so I'm listening to that now.  Had my brother get her the new AC/DC album.  They didn't even know it was out.  She loves them.

We didn't go last year.  Mom's not really up to it any more.  She just gave us the money to go.  That's not fun and of course I used mine on Karen.  I'm continuing the tradition with her.  I absolutely enjoy taking my credit card out for a shopping spree.  It's only once a year so fuck it.

Opium dream?  Those sound cool.  It's just when I go to bed at night and close my eyes images start floating around.  Nothing you can really focus in on because it hurts to try to do that.  You don't do that?  I think it's just the brain throwing shit out and getting ready to sleep.  Last night was cool though.  Normally it's lots of things but this was just the stars.  Very 3D and took the whole view just like you were looking at the night sky.  I looked at the sky last night but it was hours before bed and nothing like what I saw.

Julie is running late but still coming.

I want the casserole!!!  And I love your kettle!!

Your listening to her cd?? Haha. I love that album. Need to get the expanded edition!

Honestly when I close my eyes to sleep lately, I picture myself sleeping in the bush. Yours sound stunning though!

Hope you and Jumie made it out and are having a blast!

I have a new dry cough. Sigh....

  2. This is pretty juicy so far! And this is just some of whats said in that 7 minute stretch in part 2!

    - 29:30 - Dave basically describes being tasked with the role of 'the general' whilst Duff was still in the band. Says Duff had already sold his shares in band but Dave still figured that Duff was wondering "What the Fuck?". He says that the takeover of the brand wasn't all bad, because the brand had "like 14 000 law suits against." Which is a really neat - maybe new - take on why that deal made sense to all three parties.

    - 32:00 - Says that when he stepped back from the project and shared concerns about being the general/musical director that Axl called and screamed at him for 2 hours, and Axl called him,

    Quote

"A dark lord sent to keep him from bringing light to the world"

    - 37:00 - Brace yourselves fans of the myth - Dave says of Guns early formation,

    Quote

"The band was put together. Greg Gilmore from Mother Love Bone was approached to be the first drummer, but he didn't have the look that the label and people (wanted). They weren't, you know, they didn't meet in high school and put it together - they (Guns) were a product band. They were built by an idea and a marketing strategy. And Izzy Stradlin wrote a bunch of great songs. Yada, yada, yada. Craziness."

    :wow:

On the episode, one of the investigators of the case gave the name of the other guy with Marcel and he was indeed a guy who worked on the base. The story he told was a little different. Since it was just two of them, Marcel gathered up what he could in the car to bring it back to the base, while the other guy was gathering everything from the field and moving it all to one area so they could easily pack it up later. On Marcel's way back to the base he made a stop at his house to show his family the materials. They also showed a clip of Marcel Jr, who gave an interview in the 90's about how he saw the material as a kid and it was unlike anything he'd ever seen.

Thanks for info. Interesting stuff. I can imagine how if disinfo guy worked on base that even if civilian, he’d quickly yield to Jesse Marcel.

Two perhaps ‘bookish’ dudes in a field moving around debris is such a contrast to the blue berets of x files crash retrieval units!

That was so fucking cool!  Usually at night when I close my eyes I see all kinds of images but last night, boom!  All kind of tiny white lights.  Like I was looking at the sky from the mountains.  When you get up high, away from all of the lights, the stars make it look like it's snowing.

That's mom, never dressed up without a hat.  We were doing the girls Christmas clothes shopping.  Loved those trips.

Yeah, ditch him.  I think I would freak if she got rid of him now.  They just celebrated their engagement anniversary.

Yeah I think I was up but had sent that before midnight.  Too many days of pain pills and not enough food, my tummy hurts.  I'm cutting out the pills today, screw the anti inflammatory.  Mike won $4000 on the slots last night.  He came home a happy camper.  I slept till 10:30 again.  Not really in the mood for the egg dish but I'm throwing it in the oven.

You mean, you had an opium dream?

Those shopping trips sounds nice. Is this the first year that you wont have one?

Congrats to them for the anniversary!

All those pills can mess up you gut flora/ biome too. Please eat some yogurt and such to get your gut culture back in shape?

My mints gonna be ready to make a batch of mint choc chip froyo soon! I better make some yogurt!

@soon. Gardens are now rassist or summit,

I suppose that it’s now my job to inform you that this tweet, nor the article, makes the claim you say it does. lol

But the author is an idiot because gardening is super political - especially in the context we’ve discussed in England regarding the agrarian revolution against industrial capitals notion of land, use and ownership. All you allotments flow from the history of resistance.

Plus he doesn’t even duly unpack the f’n climate crisis and gardening Haha.

Finally saw the new mando episode! Wonderful! Easily one of my favorites thus far! Did y’all catch how Boba’s new paint job is similar to his design from the 70s marvel comics? I thought that was a nice touch!

I loved it too! Looking forward to a rewatch today. I noticed something was different about Bobas armor. But I was distracted by his pants. Neat look.

Hey, you know at the end when Mando is talking to Gideon? And Mando expresses his attachment to Grogu. Gideon seems to be pleased hearing that to my eyes? So im wondering if Gideon understand the dark side enough to want to exploit their attachment to make Grogu go dark side? Or does Gideon even think he can sway Mando?

Because, who force electrocuted that one Imperial officer a few eps back? "He" was the word. Thrawn? Palps cant do that in his current form? Is there any chance Gideon is a Sith? And can someone whos not force sensitive go dark side? Mando has so many darkside hallmarks and he's loosing touch with his so called "cult" roots. Afterall, the Jedi was the Mandos enemy.

Bo Katan v 'dark side' Mando?:smiley-confused2:

Either that or Jesse just had a higher rank. He would have been one of the most important intelligence officers in the world at the time, working on the only atomic bomber base. Either way I'm glad he did it!

I dont know how civilian federal staff and military rank intersect there? But yeah, the steal eyes of a nuclear maniac might pull rank!

Maybe as soon as Jesse said his opinion, the disinfo guy was like "Huh, I was trying to figure out to make that the official story... Ill just let you do the heavy lifting." *Goes home and puts feet up, sips scotch*

Dont get me wrong, Im happy to believe that the family saw what they saw brought home. But this section of the story seems off still.

Did you get to see the episodes so far?

I emailed the picture through my phone.  Sometimes those take longer but don't rule out I fucked it up so I'll send it again.

Ended up staying home.  I was going to run out and play the GNR pinball machine but then I remembered I used all my cash to the Salvation Army red kettle and on hot chocolate at the high school fundraiser.

2015 the kid graduated nursing school and got her license.  She broke up with a kid I hated and gave me his ticket to their vacation in a tropical island!  Those were the biggies but there was lots of little stuff that year.  So unexpected.

Julie is going to come over tomorrow.  Rather then go to lunch, we are going to shop the denture isle.   She's the other single parent I got through that whole period of my life with.  She's had her dentures since she was 31, 17 years.  Good to have somebody I can joke about this with and who gets the girl thing.  It's just vanity.  I could be the guy living in your tool shed.

Marsha called, she checked out the chemicals in the shed.  We're loaded.  Going to put some controls on that next year.

I'm working on a Christmas cat puzzle.  Have to fix up that egg dish.

Oh sweet Lily! Look how tiny she was! What a beauty, snuggling with her new family. Happy for you all!

Pics arrived last night at 1:15 - we're you up then?! Wild one! And I see being styling runs in the family - love your moms hat :headbang:

May you receive as you give! Prlly best to stay in a day or two to recover like the rest of us humans would need to!

2015 sounds very cool! Heres to more to come!

I hope you and Julie have fun today! You know how to have a good time... in the denture isle

That egg dish sounds so good!! Wish I had holiday food budget. I added some fresh oregano to my rice and beans yesterday though. First harvest from this indoor garden. How did your caserole turn out?

    11 hours ago, cineater said:

Cooking up the sausage.  Forgot how good this dish is.  Normally only make it for holidays.

Makes me smile when I think about Julie and I going shopping.  We have a saying in the neighborhood.  You don't go shopping with Julie and you don't drink whiskey with Zack.   Karen got a big kick out of I was going shopping with her.  I should leave my credit card at home where it's safe on its diet.  Karen's probably going to dump Caleb tomorrow and suggest we go to the stores.  Those two look at the mall with different eyes then the rest of us.

And just when you start cooking the text messages start coming in,

    Your neighborhood sounds awesome!

You mean Karen will ditch Caleb for the shopping, not dump him???

I hope the texts weren't anything bad or urgent?

I gotta admit that yesterday I finally got full on cabin fever. And it was weird how a series of very nice texts didn't help at all. All sorts of good people telling me they left something at my door, or when do I need grocery, etc. And as I paced around I was like 'that's all the problem, not help - someone just talk to me! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!'

Then I had a night of fevered dreams and now I'm feeling much better!

It's closer to 4 than 3 if you round.   I get paid on Wednesday so I'll make it.  I'm tired of hitting up my savings account.  And I still have a pocket full of credit cards and that jar of emergency birth control money.  I guess I should repurpose that to emergency prescription money.

I have those two recipes bookmarked and will send them to you.  The egg casserole is great and lasts for several days if it's just you.

This time of year I become a night owl.  It's just so nice late at night.  Little Boy came up at 3:30 and ate 2 bowls of food.  It had finally quit raining and the cats went out for a few hours.  Lily reminds me she was the end to a wonderful year.  2015 is probably the best year of my life.  So many wonderful things and they just kept coming from January to December.

I'm beyond freaked out to see myself without teeth.  Hasn't made me cry but maybe I'm just in shock.   Put in a call to my friend Julie.  She got her dentures before 40, drunken fall.  Thought I'd get some tips from her.  Nancy's tip was smoke pot, lots of pot.  I look forward to the day when I don't have to think about this.  My goal today is to get out of this house for a while.

Noted about your wealth  Lets just call it an emergency jar?

Thanks for sending recipes! Those other ones sound delicious too! I still dont see the Lily pic though?

Little Boy was hungry! What a cutie! What else made 2015 your best year? Sounds awesome.

Yeah, that would be a major adjustment to seeing your mouth look so different. Im sorry. Or maybe just eat a little pot?

Were you able to get out today so far?

  11. 14 minutes ago, cineater said:

I didn't get up until 11:30!  But I got up at 2 and read until 5.  Getting better everyday.

Today is the day I found Lily 5 years ago.  Sent you a picture with mom holding her.  One little kitty.

I can't eat anymore soup.  I made myself cheesy potatoes.  I can eat those.  I'm going to make a sausage and egg casserole later today.  When I get hungry I cook.  And I've got $3 in my checking until payday.   Kind of forced to cook.

Sleepy head! Mid night reading sounds nice. Im happy to hear that you are improving so well!

Lily! What a storied day that was. The garden gives you so much! Im so happy for you both - or all of you, your mom included, and Simone! Congrats! I dont see the pic though? You emailed?

I want both those things! Never had a casserole like that - sounds amazing. I actually seem to have misplaced the cheesy potato recipe - do you have it handy at all?

Ahh - $3?! This time of year, plus your AC and dentures. Yikes! Mostly because you are very generous.

I gave my largest oregano his first haircut today.

honestly, I think it's a cool idea. There's no harm in a children's book surely. I do feel like it's kinda different compared to the Gn'R merch cause this doesn't really have anything to do with Gn'R. Just seems like Fernando's personal project that he named SCOM but my position on it is 'so what?'.

Yeah I think its neat and different, too. As I say its more up my alley than say a Funko Pop. Im into illustration. (More below...)

    5 minutes ago, EricA said:

It's the simple fact, that TB are "using" their own kids to make money out of the GnR brand, the book has NOTHING to do with the band or their history, but it's promoted as IF the kids are part of it.

That's only my pov, as you say, to each their own.

    Yeah, fair.

You and Rovim both mentioned about it having 'nothing to do with Guns' and Im just not sure I get that? The words of the story are the lyrics as far as I know? The pages I glanced at were like a lyric video in childrens book form.

  13. 11 minutes ago, Rovim said:

I guess because it's not an album and Fernando is already disliked by many. Also he's using Gn'R's popularity by naming it SCOM so that has the potential to annoy maybe.

I suppose those points could be applied to all merch though :shrugs:

This is maybe one of the only items of merch I would consider buying, if there was a kid who'd enjoy it. Introduce them to my Guns fandom. To each their own.

He recounts the story passed on down to him here, apparently it was a heated argument for him to leave.

It somehow ended up being time stamped at 12 minutes. So last night and this morning I watched from 12 minute till end, thinking "where does he discuss this?" And Ive now found it at 5 mins lol

That story still doesnt sit right with me. Here he tells that Jesse made his position clear to the disinfo officer - that the debris was otherwordly. How that convinces him to leave is beyond me? In fact wouldnt it make him insist on staying - or asking Jesse to leave?

The only thing I can think of is that Jesse is army and the other a civilian. Could be a factor of intimidation and/or societal conditioning to defer to the military man?

Bad pet parent!  And it's probably going to cost you some how some way.  Can't you hang some shower curtains or something to keep him out?

I don't think I would feel like running wheelbarrows next week anyway.  We might get a little snow on Wednesday.  Marsha and I need to cut down the geraniums and make cuttings next week.  I guess we are starting seeding early this year.  The first week in January.

You know I wouldnt let him bite stingers!! Thats where chives are supposed t go for him but the seeds were too old - need to get more for him!

How are you feeling this morning? Do you have everything you need? I hope the swelling is down.

That will be fun for you and Marsha. But sheesh - I cant keep up with you master gardeners!! I havent even started the next round of micros yet

Assuming you're correct, you'll be kaput when it happens, so who cares? In sixty years' time scientists will have developed force fields that keep the sea levels back, and humans, pansexuals of course and all thoroughly radicalised in diversity, will be repopulating Mars or some other planet to spread the woke to alien populations.

You’re not a sex maniac, but when you envision you’re own future you see yourself as a disaffected, resentful, pansexual living as a breeder on an alien planet?

(The climate crisis is now/ already. And we are not all kaput. You’ll be displaced very soon. Long before I feel that degree of impact)

    Terrible. Didn't catch a sprat.

If that happens, Holland is buggered.

Same. I haven’t caught a fish since I was knee high. Just nice to be out there though, eh?

The climate crisis is happening and we’re all buggered. It’s cool though - we’ll let all your womenfolk live here. I mean, we even have trade deals, so that’s the least we can do! :P

I read books on an assorted number of subjects, but history dominates. Awhile ago I was reading a tome on sea angling (I resumed fishing during lockdown). Before that I was reading the Grimm Brothers in German.

Let’s take a look at some of your word choices,

    - “dominate”

    - “Grimms Brothers”

    - “German”

Yeah, sex maniac, sex maniac, sex maniac!

    j/k

I attempt to catch fish myself. How’s your luck?

Also seriously, when the climate crisis sees ocean levels rise enough to drown your coasts, do you figure the EU will sea angle y’all? Even just for sport?

And all because I was reading a lot of books on the Georgian navy? I am currently reading a lot of books on serial killers: this does not mean I'd want to shag Rose West.

So, you’d like to highlight that you don’t only read about fabulous naval men, but that you also read about serial killers.

And that’s why you’re not a sex maniac? Haha
