  1. Feels like a good day for fearless, history-shaping Brexiteers. Take a bow each and every one of.... oh.... just me?

Good luck to the Remoaners too, they finally get to dry their eyes as well as their soaking wet fannies.

Time to crack open a bottle of the good stuff.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

  2. When I was growing up in the 80's, the brothers Gibb were always portrayed as a bit of a joke, a bit naff, the whole 70's disco image with the hair, flares and teeth etc. It was only when I really delved into their body of work later on, as I got older, that I realised just how good their songcraft truly is. Their catalogue of hits is incredible and as essential as The Beatles.

I never cared much for the look of the N64 but I looooooved me the look of the Dreamcast

Pound for pound, the Dreamcast is my favourite console ever, although the PS2 and SNES both run it close. It was a beast of a machine for its day and easily SEGA's best. It's a real shame they abandoned it so quickly, though it lived on for years beyond it's official lifespan on the homebrew and emulation scene.

Only downside was when switched on, it sounded like a plane taking off!

I think most of Nintendo's consoles have looked fine, with maybe the exception of the Wii U. The elongated shape was odd, as if it should have gone the other way, but then again the console should have never existed anyways.

Have to disagree strongly on the WII U, I love it. It really is a little gem of a console, albeit an underappreciated one. It was marketed terribly and sold poorly as a result but did a lot of good things. The gamepad was innovative and the Off-TV play feature was the bridge to the Switch, it was obvious what Nintendo would do next in terms of a console that combined home and handheld gaming. Third party developers ditching it was the beginning of the end but the first party games were of the highest quality, you only have to look at how many were either ported over to, or received sequels on the Switch, to see how good they were.

It was also hampered by not having a true Mario game released for it (although 3D World was fantastic).

Breath Of The Wild and HD versions of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, are also in it's slim but great catalogue of games.

It's also fully backwards compatible with the Wii and there's even a way to run Gamecube games on it.

Overall, I see it as a bit of a glorious failure, similar to the Dreamcast.
