  1. Looking at RIR 2011, i still see an Axl who gives a fuck and members like Ron that actually cared about the fans. Now i see a band technically worst, a crazy and wasted Axl and everybody is just there because of the millions. Slash doesnt seems to give a shit either. His performances are very unimaginative and he doesnt look confort. 2017 is the worst RIR. Im really concern about the band that i will be going to see in a few days.

  2. Hi guys, if anyone is interested, i just discovered an amazing new classic rock n roll band. They released their first EP in 2017. If you like Guns, Zepp, Deep Purple, etc., i think you have to take a view. Lets support young rock bands!

What I heard is mini tour in these three countries. I don't know if that's what's almost confirmed and they might add other places or if they're just playing these three countries and that's it.

Yes, its almost 100% confirmed. They are saying that GNR will coheadline with The Who. This way, both bands secured playing in the Estadio Nacional (biggest stadium in Chile). It will be like 70.000 people (again), which is insane in Chile for a band that played here just last year. This money maching know their shit. Fun fact: NuGuns only did 14.000 and 12.000 in 2010 & 2011.

    - He only saw Axl for 10 seconds during all the shows he played. He told Axl he loved him and hugged him and didnt get to have real connection time with Axl.

    - Said Frank is a wonderful guy and great drummer. He said he was disappointed standing on the side of the stage watching the guys play. He was disappointed flying 15000 miles to play one song. As you guys know Steven put on a private show at the Roxy in Argentina, he played 3 hours show

    - January 2, 2016 and Slash and Duff both texted Steven that they both wanted to get together and talk to him. Steven went to Duff's house and had him sign a contract just so he could talk to them.

    - In March he came down to rehearsal and second rehearsal he got a pinched nerve in his lower back. He was only out for 10 days. He was ready to go for the Troubadour show, but Duff told him no you are not going to be part of the show.
    - Literally a day before cincinnati shows Duff called him to come to be part of the Cincinatti and Nashville shows.

    - He said it was not going to be the same as it was 25 years because not having Izzy there and only playing 1-2 songs it was hurtful and heartbreaking for him. Richard is a great guitar play and he think Richard looks like Izzy.

    - Either Australia, Japan or Thailand he said he's not flying that far to only play a couple songs.

    - Steven said he got a couple bucks from the GNR camp. Fernando was covering that.

    - Steven asked why he couldn't play more. HE said he tried playing another song but they turned the sound off.

    - Stage manager Tom Mayhue assigned two songs to Steven. He said he only rehearsed with band at two original rehearsals and it was only Duff and Slash at rehearsal. Only time he had interaction with Melissa and Richard. He said the reason Melissa and Richard fit in is because Axl doesn't want to see anybody. Very nice people, very quiet..

F*ck. A lot worse than what i expected it to be.

What a bunch of assholes. And Axl just meeting Steven for 10 seconds... any other information you need to be sure that this is ONLY about money?

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but in some of the videos you actually can see Axl sniff and pass his hand in his nose, so maybe this time he was actually sick or got a cold. That and obviously his lack of preparation, no rehearsals, no soundchecks, yada-yada :shrugs:

    A cold... riiight...

Didn't Babymetal play Wembley stadium recently? Even you don't like their music that's pretty impressive for their age. Plus, there really isn't anything out there like them right now. I'm not really a fan myself but you have to give them some props for being creative and doing their own thing. :shrugs:

And his thing is... jumping? They didn't play any instrument or sing (i mean the 3 girls) during the time i resisted watching that crap. I haven't heard any other thing from them, but that was pretty lame.

Hopefully they start getting creative with the set list because it's beyond stale. Drop Layla, Wish You Were Here, Knockin & The Seeker (or at least change that dull 35 min part of the set), play deeper cuts from UYI & CD. Instead of Don't Cry or Patience every show, throw in the Alt lyrics version of DC to switch it up. Hell, throw in Slither or why not, a brand new song.

(None of this is likely since they haven't milked this part of the globe with this lineup yet)

I agree, except in the KOHD part. I think that just cutting a couple of minutes is enough.

Seriously - what's the point of saying that? It just paints guy as a crazy fan-boy who isn't capable of having an intelligent conversation or debate about GnR.

"I think every GnR song is great" - that's a valid statement. Just like Tommy's comments that he doesn't like every song is valid. Music is all about personal preference.

But to make a statement of fact like "GnR hasn't written a bad song" is just silly. You are confusing your personal preference with what is actual a fact.

Silkworms. Cornchucker. Shotgun Blues. Blood in the Water. Anything Goes. My World. Scraped. So Fine. Bad Obsession. Shadow of your love. Too much Too Soon. Ain't going down. Back of Bitch. Get in the Ring. These are all bad songs.

The fact that Axl chooses to play so many covers pretty much proved the point that he isn't happy with his entire catalog.

But, do you realize that by saying "these are all bad songs", you are also stating an opinion as a fact, right?

  9. Off topic: well... if someone wants to check out a great "modern" rock & roll band, look for "Rival Sons". They are the openning band for Black Sabbath in their The End tour. Ozzy himself said that is his favorite new band. Similar to Zep. Check "Electric Man" and "True". Epic voice from the frontman.

Nobody ever said that did they? Except for faith no more. They are extremely popular on GnR sites for some reason. But they are more of a personal taste thing.

Why didn't the other bands release more albums?

Nirvanna - lead singer shot himself.

Doors - lead singer died earlier in their career.

    Zepp - drummer died.

Notice a trend there? Bands stopping relaxing music because key members died. Did somebody die in GnR?

    Ole Beich did.

  11. I hope that Axl would make 10 decent songs from the vault along with Slash/Duff. I dont expect the vault to be full of great songs, since CD I sucked for the most part. No reason to want CD II without changes. If they could do that, plus 2-4 new songs or pre 1997 songs, that would be a killer album.

I don't think covers albums count as much as original material, not even close, but that doesn't mean people don't care about them or can't enjoy them.

I think it was cool that GNR released TSI at that time because they had released a double album 2 years before, so it was like a bonus. Same as Skid Row releasing B-Side Ourselves a year after Slave To The Grind. But if GNR decided to release a covers album now instead of original material, that would be a fn' crime and I assume most of us would consider the possibility of murdering them!

Really? That's sad! I would enjoy the shit out of it! Maybe not as much as an original material release, but that doesn't make the album inexistent. IMHO, i guess.

PS. Covers album not being albums... what's next?  Hawaiian pizza not being pizza because it has pineapple????
