Thanks! It was a freak accident as well. That day and the following days after that, I wondered if I was able to walk again or even how I would walk considering I had previous surgeries as a kid to correct club feet.  I'm fully recovered now.

This is why I keep saying whenever you, JimiRose, or someone  says that GNR should not keep touring. You never know what can  happen in your own life. I never expected that I would have gotten into an accident that would sideline me from work for 4.5 months. I never expected to miss a concert seeing my all-time favorite band nor missing out on social events such as two women being interested in me.  It happened and now I have to move forward. Additionally, one day GNR will stop touring either by their own accord or something will happen health wise to them. Why rush the inevitable?

I don't really mean they SHOULD stop touring, as people clearly enjoy it, as did I on the last leg.....just if they did, it wouldn't matter like it would have mattered a few years ago.

It would feel a lot more 'right' for them to split now than probably at any time in their history in my view. If there's no forward motion of course.

I would be disappointed. I broke my foot three days before the GNR show at MetLife. I didn't have the chance to see them last year. Additionally, seeing GNR  is my enjoyment. When you work for a high pressure company and have to deal with  some other stress,  you want to do things that bring you enjoyment. Eventually GNR will cease to exist.

Why would any fan want to rush the inevitable? Go to the concert and enjoy the music. There will come a day where either you or GNR will not be able to do so.

Wow- that is shitty. Sorry to hear that!

    The research is already done.

There are still many, many thing that we don't know about the band or about Axl, but we shouldn't go around being ignorant about the stuff that is well documented.

He's an open book, clearly. Just desperate to spill all the juicy details about whatever the fuck he does with his spare time.

I'm surprised there are any secrets left to reveal given how active he is on social media, shining that bright light into his personal life!

Well, if you read a bit more you would know more.

Here's Axl himself talking about why he didn't do press and how it had to do with his belief that the press was out to get him and protect Slash: (35) 28. AUGUST 2008-FEBRUARY 2009: CHINESE DEMOCRACY IS RELEASED - Page 2 (a-4-d.com)

And here's about Axl deliberately keeping out of the spotlight and that he did have an aversion to promoting himself: (35) 23. JANUARY 2001-NOVEMBER 2002: RICHARD REPLACES PAUL, TOURING STARTS (a-4-d.com)

The latter point about Axl not having an interest in self-promotion or celebrity status is also exemplified with Sebastian Bach talking about how Axl would paid big money to not be part of celebrity shows on tv, in contrast to Bach.

Ah, I always enjoy giving you some research to do to scratch that pedantic itch!

Glad you've got him sussed out!

He has had no problems sharing personal things from his life previously. But after 1991 only under controlled situations. He stopped doing press not so much because he didn't want to share, but because he thought media was against him and wouldn't give him a fair chance. And he doesn't have a particular interest in growing his celebrity status, so he avoids press for promoting himself. An autobiography wouldn't really be opposed to any of this.

Glad you know him so well!

I have no idea what he thinks, only that he seems incredibly private.

  6. If (and big if) it's an autobiography, that would be something i'd love to read, but I'm not sure how 'open' it would be, given Axl's desire for privacy.

I can imagine it might be one of those ones where you don't really feel you know much more about the person after you've finished it.

I can't see him suddenly opening up on a massive scale.

I found one potential method that may help determine if a song is in a database or not, but not yet released. (Shazam has its own database. I think it's connected to Apple Music since the app is owned by Apple, but I'm not entirely sure on what music goes in the Shazam database.) Not a completely certain method though, since there hasn't been a wide range of songs to test it on.

So on a phone, there's an app called Shazam, that identifies music based on audio.  I tried it on Taylor Swift's album that has now released, but had some leaks earlier. You can tell the app could identify the leaked songs, but refused to name them, because it returned the "No result" page a lot quicker. Usually, if the app truly can't identify a certain song, it goes through several steps. The text on the screen goes "searching", then "Expanding search", then "This is Tough, last try", then No Result. But when I tried it on the leaked Taylor Swift songs, several tries in several different spots of the song bring up the No Result page after "Searching" or "Expanding Search", but it doesn't hang long enough to go to "This is Tough, last try".

The main exception of the leaked Taylor tracks that doesn't end early is one of the vinyl only exclusive tracks. That one has the song identifier hang until "This is Tough" before bringing up "No Result", possibly because Swift's team hasn't entered the audio of the vinyl exclusive tracks into whatever database Shazam gets its music from yet.

It works best on the vocal sections. (Sometimes you have to give it several tries on different sections of the song, since it might misidentify a song, or some sections of a song work better than others.)

    https://www.shazam.com/privacy
Please note that use of the app means, according to its privacy page:

Information about your activity in Shazam to improve the app, such as the pages you view and buttons you select, device information such as make and model, operating system version, and IP address. We may also use this information to detect fraud or misuse of the service and may approximate your location to offer Shazam charts of trending songs.

In order to comply with laws or valid legal requests for information such as a subpoena or search warrant.

So only use this method if you're willing to rat yourself out to Apple that you've come across leaked music somewhere. Also if someone steals an unreleased song and posts it in a database/platform like Apple Music under their name, then the song identifying app brings up that person.

edit: she just dropped the second half of what turned out to be a surprise double album, and it turns out one of the vinyl exclusive songs was on it. not sure why the app couldn't detect it earlier (or any of the other second half songs that were surprise dropped). maybe the database is slow, because even after the songs for the first half officially released, the app wouldn't name the songs it could identify, until a few hours later.

Hope u're OK Hun. Hear if you need me x

He was probably wise to never release it at any time tbh, sometimes it's better to just not talk.

In other news, this site probably means nothing new. Maybe just some initiative over at LN to get personal sites for big name stars? Who knows, it certainly looks AI-driven so far.

I'd say this is the most likely scenario.

I still think the guy who got DJs face tattoed on his entire back wins weirdest fan (sorry if you lost here, but 😬).

And those people waiting outside Axls house.... Leave him alone, if you're that obsessed you're well aware that he loves his privacy, so allow him that.

Are there any pictures of that tattoo?!

Fucking hell- imagine having that on you for the rest of your life!
