  1. Nah, the more leaks the better. We could do with some leaks now I think- just get some more stuff out there. They don't want to commercially release this stuff, so it might as well get out there for people to hear if they want to as rot away unheard. I'm very much against piracy but the leaks have been nothing but positive for GNR fans in the absence of anything else going on.
  2. This is absolutely the only take on the whole sad situation anyone needs. There's literally no other stance a rational person can take. "A resident by the name of Beta lives there"- mad that the neighbour would say that rather than Axl, the famous rock star!
  3. That Motley Crue thing was mad. I bet they still made large profits with it though. In regards to the promoter's thing- in some ways they don't give a shit, but they also like a 'hook' to sell tickets on. As we've said though- as long as people are still buying I suppose the promoter's demands will be lower. I think the key point there is "if he's still interested". It could be done, for sure. Slash and Duff would do it in a heartbeat.
  4. I would imagine any offers from promoters to tour now might come with caveats based on 'something new to promote' so that could stir the pot. I do think it's likely that's why we got Perhaps etc. Of course, dusting down old unused CD stuff ticks that box, and an AFD tour would do too in the eyes of promoters looking for a selling point. Having said that if course, tickets (especially outside of the US) seem to sell ok anyway....
  5. I would absolutely love it. How many 'years' are we talking here though? I think the AFD reunion shows are probably a lot more likely at this stage than him writing a single note of original material.....
  6. Money seems to be the absolute prime motive for GNR to exist now. Anyone saying otherwise is living in the past or being wilfully blind. The only comeback there possibly to it is that the sets are long. That's the only thing they don't HAVE to do. Anyway as we're in fantasy land, imagine if they did this, did theatre type venues.....and did something really nice like make tickets super cheap and available by a random lottery to fans. I'm still not convinced that the GNR ticket buying public would give two stuffs if Steven and Izzy were there or not as I doubt they know who they are, but I guess you can probably badge and hype something up enough to convince people they NEED to see it and do stadiums at astronomical prices. Which is what they'd do no doubt if it happens.
  7. Ah, have a can of Irn Bru and a deep fried Mars bar. That'll get you through it!
  8. Yeah, I've known people go to those games. I think they're so sporadic and occasional that there's enough people who are into it across the whole country to fill them as special events. Ice Hockey is actually weirdly popular where I live and does the Arena here at about once a week. I think the team are particularly good though and the tickets reasonably priced, which has helped build it up.
  9. I wouldn't say anyone really dislikes it massively, it's just not a big thing. I suppose some people laugh at the amount of protection the players wear though in comparison to Rugby and have a bit of a laugh at the whole 'American stereotype' thing. Not really in a hateful way though- it's just maybe seen as a bit naff.
  10. Loads watch the Superbowl here in England as a spectacle. It's broadcast live on one of the major TV channels (at a late hour of course) but everyone at work was talking about it the next day. American Football in general is a niche thing here though. Doesn't get much focus or attention in the media. It's all football (or 'soccer') and rugby really.
  11. I think a lot of people (myself included) have no idea what the WNBA was, and assumed it was linked with the SuperBowl, as the thread was started right after the SuperBowl. Out of touch and uninformed about American sporting organisations - yes. Misogynistic - no.
  12. Not bad at all. Never liked the Dandy Warhols in the slightest but this song is decent. Slash does like to keep busy doesn't he?!
  13. Good stuff this- well done! Wish they'd got you to do The General video instead!
  14. Nice one, thanks. Yeah- looks like they cleared up the issue.....which is good, but shit for those that got stuck with the pixelated ones! How does the CD sound? It's an SACD, and I was a bit ambivalent to it, but the other day I was listening to an SACD and was struck by how good it sounded.
  15. I've always viewed Lies as a 'proper album' personally, which probably has a lot to do with me not knowing most of the songs when it came out (i'd never heard of Live Like A Suicide). For those that had, and owned it already, I suppose Lies was a bit of a letdown at the time. I had full hopes they'd do something in 2016- probably lost the hopes around 2019. I'd give them a tenner I imagine!
  16. I see your point. Yeah I think a collection of these songs might get released in an album form, so HS, Absurd, Perhaps, General, maybe Atlas and Monsters, topped up with some live stuff. Whether that's an album or not- I don't know. Some people don't think Lies is a proper album either so that's a matter of opinion. I do think that the writing and recording of new material days of this band are done now though. Which I reckon is probably a more commonly held view than the idea that they'll write and record anything new at this stage.
  17. As I said, do you think they will 'write and record' a new album then? Fair enough if so, but as my post speculated, there can't be that many left that think that now. Also- what's with the clown face? Is it a needless and futile attempt at an insult? If so, why?
  18. I thought the CD was ok but the vinyls were all shit? I cancelled my order so just basing it on pics and things people said on here.... Be great to see some pics if you have them?
  19. I suppose it's quite quaint that this thread still gets attention. There can't be too many people left around who think that GNR will ever write and record a new album now.
  20. Yeah I'm sure I've asked before but totally forgot the answer! What's this Richard Sanderson stuff about? The guy on that website is a morris dancer- anyone British will understand that it is absolutely bizarre that Axl is involved with this guy somehow. What's the brief story?!
  21. I know we've been here before, but when do we KNOW Axl last wrote a song? Not rumours, speculation, "he's writing all the time" type comments from people on the payroll, but actually know for sure? What was the last song we know he wrote?
  22. Yeah Seven probably. Wildly unlikely choice: Eye On You with Slash. Even more wild choice: Something genuinely new. As others have said, I'm fairly over the leftovers at this point.
  23. It's the new 'give a monkey a typewriter and enough time and they'll produce Shakespeare'. Give a thread no new information and enough time and it'll get to Trump.
