I think they have a new sound guy this time. Before this year it sounded like there was some weird EQ being applied to his guitar in the mix, like they were trying to make it less bright and aggressive sounding. Now it sounds more like it usually does.

I don't understand why the Graspop and Copenhell reviews are bad though...? I think they sound pretty good for a bunch of guys in their 50s and 60s (and Melissa), considering everything they put their bodies through in their younger days. Yeah Axl doesn't sound like he did 30 years ago but who would after singing like he does?

Watching FF on the Bonnaroo livestream on Hulu right now, Josh is killing it. His style is different than Taylor but he fits in well with the band.

I'm not sure, I just know that he doesn't like to draw attention to it. Like the last time I saw him a few months I said something about his dad Slash and he was like who's Slash?

Yeah I've experienced that with him too when I've seen him, he doesn't want to talk about his dad much.

Listening to the gig now on that Twitch stream. The mix sounds really good compared to before so they must have a new sound guy. The band sounds great too, really tight.

He can still do the melodic stuff in the studio, like the HS solo is pretty much classic Slash. But then he improvs it live.

100% agree Personally I think he's just bored with playing the same songs over and over and at this point in his life it's just easier to improv most of the solos (and probably more interesting for him too). He still keeps the main points and transitions of the solos, but the parts in between are freestyle.

Because she triggers the sample of the loud scream each time.

London has gotten really good. I've seen him play with his band a few times over the last couple years and the last time I saw him (April of this year at NAMM) he was killing it. Wouldn't mind seeing him up there with GnR as long as he doesn't do any weird stuff. Yeah that's why he was there, just hanging out before meeting up with his band for their shows.
