  1. As much as I hope he’s finally releasing an autobiography, I can’t wait for it to be something truly disappointing like a merch line or an NFT collection
  2. The animation at the end of the video looks extremely AI generated
  3. The General, much like Atlas, is one of those songs treated as a legendary holy grail that actually ended up being terrible. Axl’s studio efforts during the CD era really remind me of Billy Corgan after he reformed the Smashing Pumpkins. Many different ideas, very few good ones. Totally unwilling to throw out a bad song. Monster is alright.
  4. Seeing some actual push behind this single for once makes me happy
  5. It makes me happy to see the band actually making an earnest effort to promote it, unlike when Absurd and Hard Skool were sent out to die. A radio premiere, music video, and now Times Square advertising. It’s quite refreshing!
  6. Vinyl has had a massive resurgence in popularity over the past decade, to the point where vinyl sales overtook CD sales for the first time since the 80s in 2022. So a lot of people have record players.
  7. I feel like It's So Easy is gonna be opener for the foreseeable future. It's just too good at setting the tone for a GNR concert. I think it'd be a terrible decision to open a concert with a song that a large proportion of the audience is gonna be totally unfamiliar with.
  8. As much as I’m happy to have these reworked CD-era tracks, I do hope they’ve written and recorded some fresh material for a hypothetical new album. Wasn’t it earlier this year or last year where Slash said his hope was to put out a few more CD2 reworks and then get the band into the studio to write and record music? That’d be my best case scenario.
  9. Gave me a laugh reading the line “Written and recorded by Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan this year” for a song that was written and mostly complete over 23 years ago.
  10. My only major gripe with this version of the song is you can sure tell it's a CD-era leftover by how much unnecessary stuff is on the released version. It really doesn't need so many "yeah, yeaaaah" lines or the weird whale noises at the start. I do like it quite a bit, though. I just think it could've benefitted from being more stripped-down.
  11. I'm not sure I can argue against Hayley Williams being on the list or at #13. She's a genuinely phenomenal vocalist, both live and in-studio.
  12. I've been non-stop listening to The Hives' first new album in 11 years, 'The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons'. Absolutely phenomenal album from front-to-back. The Hives are one of those bands that has a very defined musical style that they absolutely excel at. I was also at one of the album release shows in Kingston last Saturday and they killed it.
  13. Hold up, actual radio promotion??? Actual promotion???? I assume I'm actually in some sort of coma after taking a really nasty blow to the head?
  14. Maybe they've learned their lesson from Hard Skool and are waiting to get the half-arsed lyric video out at the same time as the single this time? 🤣 It's hilarious watching a band struggle so much to release songs that are almost as old as I am.
  15. Agreed. Nobody's getting worked up about Billy Joel not putting anything out since 1993, since he was forthright enough to tell fans that nothing's coming.
  16. I love how people have been speculating about some intent behind the weird TouchTunes release as though it's not yet another instance of staggering incompetence from Team Brazil
  17. Listening to it now and I've gotta say, it sounds pretty good. I can't be arsed to go back and listen to the original version, but I'm assuming this is the exact same vocal take as with Hard Skool and Absurd? Slash's solo is much better than the non-entity that was the solo on the old version.
  18. I'd vastly prefer new music that represents the current iteration of the band and what Axl, Slash and Duff are capable of nowadays
  19. I used to think this, but nowadays I genuinely think the rasp is almost entirely beyond him. Whenever Axl goes for the rasp nowadays, it's a horrible forced rasp that sounds really bad.
  20. Massive Godzilla fan here. Annoyingly here in the UK, only the Showa films, the 98 film, the Legendary films, and Shin Godzilla are available to purchase legitimately. So I have to resort to piracy to watch my favourite era (Heisei) or any Millennium era films. One day I'll invest in a region-free Bluray player!
