  1. I can understand CD being the first single, honestly. It's a fairly straightforward GNR-style rocker with an intro that almost evokes WTTJ. Of course, it probably wasn't the best choice since it totally misrepresents the rest of the album.
  2. I dunno if it's already been commented on in this thread, but before they played Absurd, Axl dedicated the song to "the things you might read". So I'm guessing that's a shot at some of their Glasto critics!
  3. Lots of delusional people on Reddit saying that Axl was going full rasp during the show and that it's the best he's sounded in 20 years. As someone who had Axl's vocals coming through very prominently on the speakers nearest to me, it was pretty much in-line with Axl's other vocal performances this year. There was a bit more rasp on a couple of songs, but nothing too spectacular. I'd say it's just a bit worse vocally than the show I saw in 2017. Still a very awesome show overall though! The band and Axl really put a lot of effort into playing as well as they can.
  4. Look out for the guy with long hair, a beard, and a GNR T-shirt That's me (and about half the likely audience at the show)
  5. Sadly my wife didn't want to skip work to enable us to get an earlier train, so I'll be arriving about 5:30, but I'm very excited. Thankfully I've seen The Pretenders and The Darkness before, so it's not too upsetting to miss them, as much as I enjoy them.
  6. Reasonable by the standards of any concert's food offerings.
  7. Just so people are aware, that's the same stage British Summer Time festival uses every year for every show.
  8. I mean, using it in the context of one of the most prestigious music festivals in the world seems like a pretty good use of the word to me
  9. Sometimes the fact Team Brazil is ran by a bunch of immature manchildren has its entertainment value. Reminds me of when they clapped back at everyone claiming credit for their reunion in 2016.
  10. The first half of Reckless Life had a lot of Mickey before Axl decided to go fucking wild during the second half. I voted for Down On The Farm because Axl and the band visibly loved playing the song and it absolutely ruled.
  11. Hot take: I actually preferred when they played Nightrain at a slightly faster tempo in 2016/2017
  12. KOHD always goes down a treat for the crowd though. Particular the call-and-response bits
  13. You can always tell which songs are crowd-pleasers at Glasto by whether or not someone's set off a smoke flare!
  14. I can't see Slash sat on the steps without thinking of that time he was hanging brains in the same spot a few years back
  15. I love complaining about many aspects of modern GNR as much as the next guy, but I'm so glad this band exists and still has the capacity to put on a great show like tonight
  16. SCOM might be overplayed to the point that I rarely listen to it, but it's hard to feel chills listening to the crowd on that chorus.
  17. We're not gonna be able to hear Axl over the crowd for SCOM based on that reaction
  18. He doesn't tend to go full rasp on the bridge anymore, so that was a pleasant surprise.
  19. Curfew is at midnight, but Glastonbury bands can usually play past it until about 12:30am before they get cut off.
