  1. I've probably listened to the album in full about 4 times now. I think the last time an album made me want to get up and put the record back to the start was either Metropolis Part 2 or Images and Words from Dream Theater when I discovered them (very late) in December 2019.

Invincible Shield is very likely to climb to very high ranks for me among the Priest catalog

  2. Just listened to the main album, wow, it was incredible. I don't see what people are complaining about it being too long it is 11 songs clocking in at 53 minutes (bonus tracks personally shouldn't be counted in the idea of how long an album is as they aren't meant to be part of the album). My only complaint would be the vinyl version should have been 3 sides instead of 4 as some sides felt super short.

That's good to know, I read alot of fans on YouTube chastise the album with little explanation. And the production is very very poor. Really looking forward to remix/re-release now that iommi has the masters.

I'll check out the Headless Cross album after Eternal Idol, which is definitely growing on me. Thanks.

Headless Cross is my 2nd favourite Sabbath album, behind Heaven and Hell. It is a great album.

I signed up for the fan pre-sale thing... does that mean I'll get a code, or is it a lottery kind of thing like Taylor Swift does? Would I be better off waiting for Lucky Dip tickets?

I'm personally hoping for Lucky Dip, got 2 sets for the 2020 show. Quite happy to see them returning, likely will be my only time seeing them.

  6. Well it appears that my 2023 concert season has come to an end as P!nk and Springsteen have both been postponed. There are a couple shows I might still go see but for now I have none planned. Below is the great experience I have had:

    1. Anthrax & Black Label Society w/ Exodus
    2. John Mellencamp [My 50th concert ever.]
    3. Alter Bridge w/ Mammoth WVH & Pistols at Dawn
    4. Dream Theater w/ Devin Townsend & Animals As Leaders
    5. Volbeat w/ Halestorm
    6. Trooper w/ Chilliwack & Harlequin
    7. Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo
    8. Iron Maiden w/ Atreyu
    9. Matthew Good (Acoustic Show)
    10. Ann Wilson & Tripsitter
    11. ZZ Top w/ Cory Marks
    12. Guns N Roses w/ Alice In Chains

The best show was probably Maiden, or Alter Bridge. GNR were up there as well. Anthrax was a great energetic kick off to the year, and Devin Townsend was my discovery of the year because of the concert.

    Might still see:

    • Kiss
    • Zakk Sabbath

What did you think of the sound? I thought AIC sounded good but the mix for GNR was a bit inconsistent. Overall it was better than the 2017 show though.

AIC was great sound wise. GNR was rocky to start, I couldn't hear guitar for the most part for ISE except the solo, Bad Obsession and CD it got better by the time hard skool happened it was fine for the rest of the show overall for me.

Personally, it was a great show I agree with your statement that Axl tried hard, and I think he was better on November Rain than 2017, I really enjoyed the 3 new singles, and all in all despite Axl's voice being aged, I think it was a great show. I wish it was at Rogers, and that they had played another song or two seeing as curfew was 20 minutes after shows end.

Not gonna lie, I'm a VERY casual Black Sabbath fan. Don't know that many of their songs and couldn't name a single non-Ozzy Black Sabbath song from the top of my head. But I like top 10 lists, so I'll make my own anyway.

    1. Children of the Grave

    2. Supernaut

    3. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

    4. Iron Man

    5. War Pigs

    6. Paranoid

    7. God is Dead

    8. Sweet Leaf

    9. Hole in the Sky

    10. Symptom of the Universe

And yes, I plan to explore Black Sabbath's discography more thoroughly when I have the time.

It is a worthwhile experience. Personally I prefer 80s Sabbath to 70s but the Ozzy era is legendary!

  9. So Far:

    • Anthrax w/ Black Label Society & Exodus
    • John Mellencamp
    • Alter Bridge w/ Mammoth WVH
    • Dream Theater w/ Devin Townsend & Animals as Leaders
    • Volbeat w/ Halestorm
    • Pat Benatar

    Upcoming:

    • Iron Maiden w/ Ateryu
    • Ann Wilson
    • GNR [Waiting on tickets to drop]
    • GNR w/ Alice In Chains [Waiting on tickets to drop]
    • P!NK
    • Kiss [Waiting on tickets, to drop]

    Postponed

    • Bruce Springsteen

Depending on rescheduled dates: AKA don't have tickets... yet

    • Wasp
    • Skid Row
    • Aerosmith

    They were played. From HTGTH:

Setlist: It’s So Easy, Bad Obsession, Chinese Democracy, Slither, Mr. Brownstone, Pretty Tied Up, Rumble/Welcome To The Jungle, Hard Skool, Double Talkin’ Jive, You Could Be Mine, Perhaps, Reckless Life, Absurd, Rocket Queen, Live And Let Die, T.V. Eye, Don’t Cry, Down On The Farm, Estranged, Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, Anything Goes, Civil War/(Voodoo Child), Band Introductions, Slash Solo/Sweet Child O’ Mine, November Rain, Wichita Lineman, Madagascar, Coma, People Get Ready/Patience, My Michelle, Nightrain, Paradise City

Absolutely amazing set, honestly I'd only want to hear like 4 other songs that they have played on this leg added in. (Shadow, S.O.D., Prostitute, Locomotive) but major props for the shaking up this leg, cool to see Knockin much earlier.

    Well duh.

Why would I spend 3-4X the money when tickets go on sale, if they're gonna be heavily discounted a week before the show?

I got cheap-ish seats for the Vancouver show but I'm keeping an eye on the Seattle show. If I can get a pit ticket for somewhere between $100-200 a few days before the show, I'll pull the trigger. But I'm definitely not gonna pay the almost $500 price they're asking for pit tickets right now.

Similar thoughts here, for both the shows you mentioned, although I'm hoping they announce the opener for the Seattle show soon.
