While I agree that Axl is the problem and not the name, I do wonder how the album would have been recieved if it was released as an official Axl Rose solo album and therefore changed the expectations surrounding it. Then with different expectations could come a different public perception of the album itself.
That being said it wouldn't make the album better, maybe just given a different set of "ears" to listen to.

Wait, give a listen to Lulu - you'll love St.Anger after that, trust me...
That sounds like torture if it would make me like St. Anger

Bought a couple used records off of amazon, yesterday one of the records I've been searching for over the last 5 years arrived in the mail. Scorpions - In Trance, at long last is spinning and wow is it a surreal experience to hear it from vinyl. Amazing album and I'm glad my first few used records from amazon have been top quality.

Went to 2 stores, neither had the Black Sabbath, but I did manage to pick up the Opeth record!

Thanks Russ for the recommendation of adding anti-static inner sleeves to my records. I didn't think of the paper sleeves potentially causing scratches. My wallet on the other hand doesn't thank you as much xD. Plus while adding sleeves I discovered my vinyl copy of Scorpions Tokyo Tapes came with copies of their 50th anniversary deluxe CD. Didn't know it was included with the Vinyl!

There are rumors that the No Filter 2020 US tour will be rescheduled for this fall.
Rumored dates so far are Minneapolis on August 28 and Pittsburgh on October 3.
My fingers are crossed that BC gets it all together fully by then so I can attend the Vancouver show

That's great man. I took better care of my CD's as I got older, but haven't bought one in years. The last that comes to mind was Jeff Lynne's re-recordings of ELO's greatest hits back in 2012. Cool to see someone else still using an iPod - I'd be lost without mine.
I don't leave the house without my ipod, I'm willing to leave my phone but I almost always have music playing and the sheer amount I have would fill up the phone's storage which I also like to avoid.

Just out of interest what's the idea behind collecting both vinyl and CD's? Is there bonus tracks? I sold my CDs maybe 4 years ago on ebay... kind of regret that but needed the money at the time. 🤷♂️
Purpendicular and Deadwing are amazing albums.
If I really enjoy the album I usually get it on vinyl. That being said when I listen to music I'm often more invested when listening to a physical record than playing a CD through a stereo. I get CDs primarily so I can load them onto an Ipod for use at work, exersize and for the car. I don't like purchasing digital because I prefer to have hard copy versions.

I have found the middle two sides of the album a bit weaker, Side 1 was phenomenal, listening to side 4 at the moment. It seems pretty good thus far.

The only two that really interest me are the two Black Sabbath Picture discs for Heaven and Hell and The Mob Rules. The former being my favourite Sabbath record.

Those look awesome! I have recently shifted to Ikea shelves (which fit records) perfectly from bins. Although I haven't quite figured out how many records should be on each shelf. Plus it allows for storage of other stuff. Those shelves look quite space efficient.

So I cheat... I opened this slightly further into tracks that didn't make Appetite/Lies
Side 1:
- Right Next Door To hell
- Dust N Bones
- Don't Cry [Alt Version]
- You Could Be Mine
Side 2:
- Civil War
- November Rain
- Perfect Crime
Side 3:
- Locomotive
- Shadow Of Your Love
- Estranged
Side 4:
- Move To The City [Acoustic]
- Dead Horse
- Coma
-
- Old Axl sound: Well this isn't realistic, no singer sounds the same as the 80s and early 90s, yes we could have more rasp but there are other ways for Axl to sound better
- New Album: I'm all for new music, I personally think this, a new setlist and the vault being unleashed are really all a single option since with a new album comes a new set, and things from the Vault will likely be released in this form
- AFD Line Up: I'm fine with the current line up, although Frank isn't always the best, this isn't high on my list
- New Setlist: We got coma, dead horse, locomotive, among other tracks not played in years, yes it could be better paced and have more but GNR only really has 5 albums we do get a fair bit of their catalog
- Management: This is also needed but if we could get a new album plus some stuff from the vault with this one, I'd be okay with it. Could be a lot better but this option could result in all of the above and below excluding the AFD reunion occuring
- Unleash The Vault: See New album comment.
I'm an optimist, and I believe they will release an album and I'm young enough to think that I will see the vault be released in my lifetime

There's this one record store fairly close to my house that used to kick major ass in the 90s, bit they've gone way downhill over the past 15 years or so.
I stopped in there about 5 years ago maybe just to see if it was as bad as I'd heard. The rumors were true the store was like 90% drug paraphernalia and 10% music.
Anyway, they had a tiny vinyl section so I flipped through it and BAM, they had a copy of the Friday Music pressing of Empire. I've never been back since but that one stop in was worth it lol.
That is a real shame, we have one across town, but I've had spotty luck so I decided to give it a go today, it appears that the quality of the store has greatly increased since I was last there about 2 years ago, I normally do a day trip into Vancouver and hit stores there but today was a pleasent surprise a fair number of the ones of the list were from there.
