  1. Axl said that during the China Exchange interview. I believe that was in 2016.
  2. About the “where did we go now” part. I remember reading in Slash’s book that it was added later on. Maybe during recording, I can’t remember. I love slash but it seems like he doesn’t get all the facts right. I don’t know if that is intentional or not, but it’s kind of hard to know what’s true and what isn’t true. I remember Axl talking about his meeting with Slash in 2015 and one of the first things they addressed was his book. Axl said that so much of what was in the book never happened.
  3. Yes, Dave must be incorrect. It’s pretty well known that the classic lineup was completely formed by the summer of 1985. They didn’t sign with a label until 1986.
  4. I remember seeing an interview with Slash where he said there’s some good shit on the UYI albums but would have preferred a more straightforward album with about 10 tracks on it.
  5. I could be mistaken about this or mixing things up, but didn’t Gilby say in previous interviews that he was asked to join the reunion or play a show, but he couldn’t due to scheduling conflicts and having to attend his daughter’s event or something?
  6. I agree with this. Seems the business model is to milk the cow dry before releasing anything. As long as people keep attending the shows they will keep dangling the carrot. They will release an album when they have to to keep touring going.
  7. I’ve noticed this before, but this video reminds me of how different Axl’s speaking voice is than when he was younger. It’s not just his singing voice that has changed. Doesn’t even sound like the same person when he is talking.
  8. Linkin Park, which I think is considered nu-metal was huge in the early to mid 2000s.
