  1. Read my lips, although you can't: there will be no such thing as "new GNR music." If that really was the plan all along, why wait 5 years after the reunion to get rid of those songs? Why not use the momentum? They did literally nothing for 5 years in terms of new songs and now they suddenly remembered to throw out the CD stuff so they can work on new music? Give me a break. I'm thankful for every new release, be it CD or new stuff - but I just don't see it happening.
  2. I really, really doubt they will release an album of new material. Not trying to shit on the band or whatever, I just genuinely don't see it happening.
  3. To be fair, right now they've exhausted just about every market there is. So, why not take some time off? But I doubt they'll put out a new album. As much as I'd love that, one final GNR album. I don't think it'll happen.
  4. I find it quite funny that Axl always says "I'll have to figure out how to sing it" ... live on stage. Like, not rehearsing it in private or at the soundcheck has to be the most Axl-thing ever
  5. That has to be one of the greatest tweets in the history of this band
  6. Not many people know that Axl actually wrote Perhaps for Meat Loaf "Bat Out Of Hell IV - Hey, Hey"
  7. I love Axl but man, Perhaps has to be the worst song on the setlist. It sounds absolutely awful live and it's getting worse every time they play it.
  8. Okay, so now, after two performances ... this song doesn't work live - at least on in the way Axl does it. Even the verses are bad, he sounds like he's just shouting them. The chorus is a mess. If you told me that he never tried to sing it before the first performance I would absolutely believe you. Especially since he said that "I'll have to figure out how to sing it". The chorus 100% needs to be split up. Either do the lyrics or the All Alone-part, both doesn't work.
  9. As long as they never release State of Grace I'm fine with whatever comes next. That song is worse than Scraped, which I actually like.
  10. I've got a more general question: Do you guys think that if the leaks never happened, we still would have gotten single releases? Because I feel that Axl saw the reception those songs got and thought "Ah, fuck it", let the other guys put their parts on it and just released it. If the leaks never happened I doubt we would have ever seen any new music be released.
  11. Thought the same. But my guess is that they were going to release both in this short period of time anyway, so don't think of it as the B-side to a single but rather as the second song on a two song EP.
  12. Same reason people rank Kennedy that high as a president. A bullet to the brain will do that to you. EDIT: I just saw that they ranked Steven Tyler at 14. Behind Cobain. Wtf. I bet if Steven Tyler put a gun to his head he'd outrank Jesus.
  13. From the amount it is said during those songs, I'm suggesting: "Hey Heey" Why didn't they do a trilogy out of that? Like Metallica did with The Unforgiven! "Hey Heey - Pussy for the Fam" "Hey Heey II - Electric Boogaskool" "Hey Heey III - Guns N' Roses on Ice"
  14. It's out in Germany now. Listened to it with my good headphones and I do like it. But I absolutely hate how inaudible the lyrics in the chorus are. They should be front and center and not buried under the instrumental.
  15. I haven't heard it in HD quality yet, but vocally I can see that being 2023 Axl. Of course it wasn't written by Duff or Slash, but they put their instruments over it so - fine with me. But isn't the song just basically structured like "Verse 1/Chorus/Breakdown/Verse 1 again/Chorus"? It doesn't have a second verse with different lyrics, or am I forgetting something?
  16. I do prefer it to the leak and it's definetely been re-recorded, or at least parts of it. Which, if they didn't just use another take, means we'd have new Axl vocals for the first time since Rock the Rock. I'm usually not one to comment ln instrumentals but that solo really f'n blows and pulls the whole song down.
  17. I'm of the exact opposite opinion. I think State of Grace is the worst song from the leaks, the vocals are awful and just lumbering along. Atlas on the other hand sounds really good. Although Atlas, like Street of Dreams, is missing that certain hook. Those songs are bulding up to something and then it just falls flat.
  18. I just wonder why he can't go back to the clean voice. It sounded pretty good but has been gone since at least 2014. There's a huge difference between Mickey and the clean voice.
  19. I can't understand a single word of what he's singing in the chorus. It really goes under in the leaked version, I hope they fix that in the final release.
  20. Now that we know about Perhaps, I wonder what the next song will be. If it will be something from the leak-loop (like Atlas, State of Grace) or something that we haven't heard with vocals yet. I just pray to god that it's not State of Grace, because that song absolutely sucks ass and I don't really get the praise it got everywhere. It's just lumbering along for the first half (with awful vocals) and then Axl screams for the second half.
  21. I hope if they ever put an album out it'll be called "Posthumous", because it would be the first ever posthumous album where the singer is actually still alive. I mean, GNR's approach is like back when Michael Jackson died and they put out an album of unreleased songs with reworked instrumentals. Basically the same thing GNR does now, only that Axl is still alive.
  22. That's some good news! Perhaps is a good song, can't wait to hear it in top quality with reworked instrumentals. That being said, Atlas is still the strongest song out of them all ... so ...
  23. When I just discovered GNR and hadn't listened to the songs that much I thought Axl was a douche for lip-syncing WTTJ in Vegas. Turns out it wasn't lip-synced. It was just great vocally.
  24. "Since you all know that Friday is the day we play some fresh releases, here's another one. This time from Guns N' Roses... *half-second pause" ...' Duff McKagan!" My heart dropped there for that half-second. Fuckin' fuckers! At least the song was decent.
