I am probably overthinking this one but, what if the mix of the General is ugly and rough intentionally in order to reflect the ugly nature of the subject matter? -

Great chorus; I love the background vocals by Duff. Sounds like Brain on drums. My question is this, is Brain going to be the studio drummer and Frank just a touring member?
