We'll need a complete list of everything you've ever heard in your life if you want us to believe that.

You must have a very simple and easy life with no need or want, to so quickly measure everything you've ever heard.  Many people have heard more ridiculous things just this week, or month, or year, yet there you are, floating above us all.

I wish I could live a life where the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard since the day I was born was that someone on the internet says A.I. is creativity.  Are you at least happy about that?

Now THAT is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

I think the Power Trip reviews were more goodwill to Brian and excitement over seeing him back in the band. That’s certainly why I enjoyed seeing the footage and whilst he was undeniably ropy in places, his voice was pretty much as I expected.

To be honest, I can’t think of any hard rock guys in their 60s and 70s who don’t sound ropy these days to a greater or lesser extent. I mean, Axl’s vocals generate a lot of discussion here and he’s over ten years younger than Brian. I mean, I completely get why Robert Plant opted to quit whilst he was ahead re the heavier stuff and change genre to preserve his voice. Saw him live twice last year and he sounded amazing because he wasn’t straining to sing hard rock all night.

Steven Tyler still sounds incredible... don't know how.... but the dude is like 109 years old.

  3. I think art in general in all of its forms is time/ energy consuming.  I agree...AI software is just a tool, much like a paint brush or musical instrument.   Like said earlier,  the artists creation is what comes from his mind.   Photographs can be art.   And is venture to say that a photograph can be produced much quicker than an AI assisted painting.   Yet an artistic photograph is still considered art because the photographer planned the time, setting lighting exposure, etc to create the image in his/her mind eye.

  4. Not sure about now regarding Steven Tyler, but we were against stage when they were here for Jazzfest a few years back and he was singing that scream in dream on live.   I love being next to stage when I can, cuz you can hear the singers actually singing into the mic.   Gives you an idea of how good (or bad) they are.

Sucks cuz I can't see myself buying pit tickets for any show at the current prices, so I only get to be that close at festivals and getting there when the gates open,  run to the front and park myself there ALL day.   Makes for A LONNNG day of holding your spot. But I'm a Mardi Gras vet, so I'm used to it.

  5. I'm starting to think that perhaps either you were in a rather bad section or me and the large group of my friends/ family that attended (which were directly across the arena from me) were in really good sections.   Also the pit area from my vantage point looked like they were having a good time.   I couldn't really see if those people in the floor seats behind pit were energized or not.   I tried noticing, I just couldn't see them well enough.

I will admit one thing for sure, it was an older crowd than all the other Guns shows I've attended.

And you are right, by the time the last few songs went on,  prolly a quarter (maybe) of the people were headed home.   Just from what I remember looking at the arena as a whole.   You could just see some empty seats mixed in with the crowd.   Mostly on the floor.   Or at least from what I could see.

One definite beef i had with the venue though.... why so many floor seats? Perhaps it's not the venue and just how they set up these concerts now.   But lower prices GA tickets on the floor would probably provide a more energetic crowd as a whole.   There aren't many people posting 1500+ for pit.   The TM price for those for seats were dumb as well.

NR was written before AFD, whats your point?

It's almost as if most of these people don't quite understand how bands put albums together.   Or that songs and ideas for songs are worked on for years, several years sometimes.   I just don't get the complaint people have of when certain songs were written, thought of it worked on before their release.

We have received new previously unreleased music and people complain.   And to be honest,  I truly like all of the new stuff.   Is it the best stuff they've ever written, certainly not.   But, to me, all very enjoyable songs.

Crucify the dead was written by Ozzy, right?

i remember hearing the song when it was released and thinking ‘damn, that’s some really direct shots at Axl’

one could think that Sorry was about Slash but then you could be wrong. Crucify the dead was totally about Axl

I had checked the views about 24 hours after it released on YT, it has 1m views.   Which I thought was pretty good numbers.  Haven't checked since day 2 such was about 1.5m views

I’m just so very glad I didn’t buy a ticket for Chicago. No new music, no deal.

Not to judge... but I'll judge anyway.

That's dumb...1 new song is the difference between going to a show or not??

I want new music too.   But, call me a sucker, I'll go see them whenever they're close enough.   I appreciate that the big 3 are back doing shows after believing for 20 years that it would never happen.

I'll go and enjoy myself.   While you stay at home and save your money, because, what,  you didn't get 1 new song this year (yet). 🙄

    What year was that?

I've seen SMKC 4 times, Phoenix 2018, Phoenix, LA, and Vegas 2022. Seen Gilby perform about half a dozen times at NAMM events (3 times he had Teddy ZigZag with him).

I honestly can't remember the year.... I'm 51 now and time flies... but if I remember correctly, it was after a Pelicans(Hornets) game shortly after they moved here...I think that was in 2002. So sometime in that time frame.   I'm wondering if they weren't in town for another show and using that small venue as a warmup. I know some bands play bars for the fans and such.   Without announcing.  I know the team has been here 21 or so years.

  10. Somewhat crazy story.  I went to a New Orleans Hornets ( right after the team moved here and before they changed their name to the Pelicans) with some family and friends.

After the game,  we decided to walk around town and grab some drinks.   We came across a small club with one of those bi-fold standing bill boards that you see clubs/bars put out on the sidewalk.   On the billboard was handwritten "Slash 2nite". Thinking it was simply a joke I asked the bouncer who was playing, and he said Slash (duh).  So thinking he was joking,  I said Slash? Slash? He said yep.  We threw our cover money at the dude so fast.

Come to find out,  it was a COMPLETELY unannounced Slash's Snakepit show.  The bar held about 200 or so people and it was AWESOME!

They only played 1 Guns song,  Mr. Brownstone.   When they did, the place erupted.  Kinda surprised the walls of the place were still standing after.

Could flip that round though and say "life is too short to keep seeing the exact same thing over and over, when there is so much else out there to see and do?"

I see both sides on this one.

I wish to hell though that I felt as excited about seeing them live as I did in 2017/2018.

I do understand "the other side".  And I do wish I was as excited as I was right after the reunion... but I also remember the feeling of maybe never getting another chance.

I find myself going to far more shows at this stage of my life (just recently turned 51) than I did in my late teens/20s.

I can afford the higher price of the tickets more easily and just know how much I missed and will never have a chance to see live.   Regret, it's a terrible thing.
