There was a media outlet yesterday reporting that the “Perhaps” 7 inch vinyl was sold out on the merch website. I immediately checked, and no, it was not sold out. So I ordered one, not taking any chances on the possibility that it may sell out, but then again, how can something be sold out when it’s a preorder?

I could have tried wedging this question into the “Perhaps” thread, but as it pertains to the “Magic 8 Ball” being sold on the official store website: I figure one of the answers you get when you shake the ball is “Perhaps”. Do you suppose the other answers are related to GN’R related songs or events? For example, maybe one of the answers is “You’re Crazy”, or another answer is “Not In This Lifetime”. Alternatives to the basic “yes” and “no” that you would get on a basic magic 8 ball. The description on the website doesn’t detail anything, but I assume “Perhaps” is one of the answers found on it. I’m not planning to buy it, but I may suggest it as a Christmas gift if someone in my family doesn’t have any gift ideas for me.

Fine video, good to see some of the band members that don’t make it onto the t-shirts and Funko pops get some recognition.

“Perhaps” is the best of the three songs released within the last two years. It definitely echoes “Catcher In The Rye”, but it doesn’t overstay its welcome. Axl’s vocals are superb. That’s my two cents. Looking forward to hearing it live in Boston on Monday. 8/10

Yeah, I'm sure the digital copy of The General will be available toward the end of September/early October. Kind of makes me wonder if there will be an EP of Absurd, Hard Skool, Perhaps, and The General, plus another new song or two.

I haven’t heard it yet. To my knowledge, WZLX 100.7 in Boston played it at 9AM, but it didn’t show up on their list of songs played today. I’m going to buy the download for my iPod tomorrow morning anyway

WZLX is also giving away five pairs of tickets each day through Monday to the Fenway show…..which means sales were sluggish. They’re a pretty good station, though.

Not to make comparisons, but Taylor Swift released a new album last October, re-recorded and released her version of ‘Speak Now’ in July, and is releasing her version of ‘1989’ on October 27th, all while in the middle of the highest grossing tour in history. And this band, who at one time was as big as Taylor Swift is today, can’t manage to properly release a song that was a near finished product 20 years ago.

No way Slash would allow that. If that’s the case, expect the official release to be pushed back another six months.

"Perhaps" you didn't see my post a couple of pages back about how people bitch and moan when they hear the official version of a song that in their mind, doesn't measure up to the leaked demo that they NEVER SHOULD HAVE HEARD IN THE FIRST PLACE?

It’s definitely unfortunate that leaked material ends up on the internet, people hear it, want an official version, and whine when they don’t like the official version. It was a lot more exciting hearing “You Could Be Mine” in 1991 from a radio station that teased its release for a few days, then finally played it for the first time. There were no demo versions heard beforehand, or knowledge of how long it took to finalize the version that ended up as the official song. You accepted the song as-is. Now, it’s “Slash butchered the guitar parts” because he’s not a shredder like Buckethead.

Statistics show that on average, twenty two veterans of the military commit suicide each day. I have no doubt this is what Axl was referencing, especially during “Coma”.

So what will we get after Sweet Child O' Mine and November Rain? Does Axl play piano on Perhaps?
