It's better Axl silently gets a deal as fast as he can.
With his past records and stories this could become a shit storm .
There's little Michelle, there's Erin and Steph. Theres the Chicago incident.
His then behaviour is well known. That can bring a lot of cash grabbers that had similar experiences with him through late 80's, early 90's

Going Down is better than any song released after Chinese and even better than Rhiad and The Bedouins and If The World

Understandable - but they're improvised. And he's explained why - he doesn't find the original solos all that inspiring in the first place
And if we *are* going to start taking people to task for not sounding like the album...have you heard the singer lately?!
And I dont know whats worse... This lame ass excuse of "I dont play like the solo because it doesn't fit my style" bullshit.
Or if he thinks this noodling throughout the guitar neck is more "inspiring" than the original solos.
Axl voice is terrible these days. But it's a physical.problem. His vocal chords are gone .
If Axl coud.sings like the 90's he would. It's different scenario that laziness of "it doesnt fit my style"

Let’s face it, the reason for the delay is likely that Axl isn’t happy with the mix. The finished version of Chinese Democracy had to be pried from his hands after years of tinkering.
Or Axl heard Slash take for the song and asked Slash to repeat note for note Finck solo
And asked Paul Huge to double it

Slash’s “Better” solo is equal to Finck’s. His TWAT solo actually stays pretty faithful to Buckethead’s
No it's not. For both cases

I wasn't replying to Coma16 (if I was, I would have quoted them). Rather, I was referring the general attitude of a lot of posters on this sub who pine for the ChiDem lineup and dismiss Slash's playing. There are a few posters who are *already* complaining that Duff and, especially, Slash will be featured on The General because they're convinced that Slash's guitar work will be subpar and not as good as Buckethead's original work...that they haven't heard.
Maybe people are sayin that because Slash work in Chinese songs are subpar. And as much live and studio.
So, if things goes at the way it has been for Chinese songs these posters are more connected to reality that your assumption that it will be great.
Duff work at Chinese songs are ok. Maybe because his style of playin is close to Tommy and they have more groove

What we lack are quotes from the other guys who got to work with Paul over an extended period, and quotes from Paul himself. Then we can say we got it all.
If I can remember correctly, there were some information of tensions between Robin and Tommy against Paul.
So maybe he wasnt that innocent as Axl wanted to picture

Dude... please. Brian Johson gave new life to a band that had just lost it's frontman. He recorded one of the best selling albums of all time, and then went on to have more albums recorded with AC/DC than Bon Scott. Richard Fortus is the replacement of a replacement in a band that has released a single album in more than two decades. An album in which he's not a part of, he did not compose a single track of and that was not a high-selling critical success. Richard would be more like Stevie Young or something.
Well... Richard played in much more tours than Slash.
The fact that Band didnt released a track is not Richard fault.
Or you blame Slash and Duff for releasing songs that were written and recorded 20 years ago?
If you think Fortus is a replacement for GNR, Brian is a replacement for Ac/Dc

Nuno has obviously never heard Slash give Axl some reggae!!

There’s nothing more boring than a guitarist who thinks that technical proficiency means greatness.
100% agreed
Someone should tell Slash this. Its what he's tryin' to do at least since 2010.
And not doin it right .
In technical proficiency Nuno is and always was better than slash

Which guitar player are you referring to
Slash is one good example. And the lead singer of his bandonce said that.
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nuno is right. Just seeing Slash playin Chinese songs shows how he struggle with things that aint his style.
You also see that on the Crazy Train and Aint Talkin About Love with VR
I have huge respect for Fortus but he shouldnt try to defend Slash like that and get schooled

Do we know if Axl offered the gig instead of Richard? bc it would just look silly having dj, Richard, Slash and possibly Izzy (at times) up on stage.
I wouldn't do a 3 guitar thing either- that would truly justify that Slash and Duff joined nu-guns rather than a rejoining a band they both helped found.
Its what they did with dizzy and Melissa...
And Duff had already joined NU GNR with 3 guitars, pittman etc

I would imagine this is the closest to reality. For what it's worth, at the time it was all going down, MSL said one of Slash's biggest "no compromise" positions when they all came to the negotiating table was that he would not be part of a three guitar lineup (and apparently one of Axl's was that Matt was not going to be involved as anything other than a guest).
Well I'm not so sure if Slash would not compromise the 3 guitar lineup thing if Izzy accepted the offer.
What would he gonna do? Make Izzy plays the Chinese parts Fortus plays?
He stuck with Frank didnt he?

in 2010 Scott said to me one time after a show in a club, semi-drunk (both) :
"Duff is OK man, but I won't trust him for anything...he's playing the hardcore punk karate-guy, but inside he's soft like a marshmallow. if Slash tells him to piss in a bottle, he piss in a bottle. twice. and he's done it a lot. Slash is clever and manipulative...he's quiet and cool, but when he takes off his top hat he's a vicious greedy businessman and he doesn't let anyone stand in his way. you can't consider him a real friend and you can't trust everything he said, because he's a mythomaniac, which puts him into very unfortunate situations sometimes. Matt is a little bitch with an average penis size." yeah I just made all up, don't trust anyone, cheers mates.
It aint much different than what Matt said in his book

Didn't Izzy play on Duff's EP less than a year before?
Yes. But before the meeting. Duff and Izzy always seemed to be the closest on a personal level. They always wrote songs together and participated in each other's albums. But strangely after the reunion, at least publicly, there was no mention of Duff regarding Izzy. Which raises the possibility that he was rumored to have been the most businessman at the reunion.

I mean.. do we really believe Duff is bitching about Frank?
I of course could be very wrong but I just can’t imagine Duff doing that.To me it sounds like Matt is trying to big him self up and cause trouble hoping current GN’R members will come across these statements and question them. There may be a reason he’s not behind the kit… snidey stuff like this. They know him better than we do 🤷🏻♂️
I really believe that Duff bitched about Frank. If he really meant it, I cant say. Probably no and did it just to make Matt feel better .
Duff is not the saint he likes to make people think he is.
There's rumours that he was the one that stood the most against Izzy share of the money and receive a flat rate salary.
So I really do believe the part that he was pissed about Izzy

Slash sounded like "I'm taking control of the situation, everybody follow my lead" and sometimes you have to do that but in this case he basically left Izzy out in the cold. Should have went over to him and used some old fashioned eye contact to glue it together.
I think it demonstrates Slash's perception of his role Vs Izzy's role in the band. I don't think he really got that Izzy's feel was a lot of the sound of the band. Think there was a certain level of respect though, or at least there was before the UYI tour.
That was funny! Thanks!

The video is great, maybe its my impression, but the mix sounded better. The quality of the images is superb.
But I really wish that the concert wouldnt be edited like the video and would be more the concert itself

I think how funny it is this thing about "They dont owe you anything"
Like if we do...
It's a two way street , and always will be.
GNR doesnt need to release shit to fullfil my expectations. Like I dont need to avoid to call their bullshits when I want.
