I think he left because Axl refused to promote/support the album.
There was a rumour that GNR management stopped paying Robin and Tommy without Axls knowledge (in order to make the band split and reunite the classic lineup)
Robin had been offered the NIN 2008 tour and jumped ship, Tommy stayed.
Is this true i dont know. I heard it on a deleted episode of the Appetite For Distortion podcast.

In 1989 Axl was with Erin right? Are there any other stories about Axl cheating on her?
Just curious.

Ah, Too bad.
during The Pretenders set in Madrid this year, i saw Frank with his wife on the side of the stage and i waved to Frank and he waved back, and later he was pointing at me while talking to her, and both of them were all smiles.
Not that it matters but its a fun memory for me.

Anybody if Fernando was at the F1 race?

I found it weird that Melissa who usually posts alot on insta has been quiter than normal this tour, and hasent made any posts about her absense.
Not looking good.
Hope Fernando gets the Rick Dunford treatment

Call me crazy if you want, but i think they will at least try to write and record a new album in 2024.
Slash said so last year, something like ''next year we are releasing a cuople songs, and after the tour we are going to the studio''
He was right about the rest. Perhaps and The General are well received. The tour was their best in years.
Its all going to the right direction.

I actually also think that Billionaire could be an early version of The General

By the way, a Vinyl rip of TG&M will be just fine
...listen to the brilliant quality of this Vinyl only release...👍
BTW this is why a live album of the best cuts would be totally a cool release..."Your Crazy" is also decent sounding too (same channel)
This was released on cd. (format)

I imagine, more than likely, this is the result of vinyl issues. I have seen releases from other bands be pushed MUCH further down the line. I recently ordered some Weezer vinyl that was delayed close to a year due to manufacturing issues.
I always felt the October release date for the vinyl seemed a little optimistic, but maybe they had clear word that deadline would definitely be met. Things happen. Enjoy some other music. Take a break from Guns N Roses for a while. We'll more than likely get this sooner than later. If we're still talking about this in March or April of next year with no updates, then go ahead and get pissed off.
I do not mean to sound like a band/Axl sycophant. Any perusal of my posts will show I try to call it like it is, but it just seems people are getting riled up needlessly. Remember, just a few months ago, when "Perhaps" did not drop on the anticipated date, and we heard all this same hyperbole. Again, I admit this feels a little different since we actually had a shipping date in hand (I do not think we'd ever head an official release of "Perhaps" until it dropped), but if we want to judge this band on the same metric we judge other bands, this is happening across the board.
By early next year, we'll all have likely heard "The General", made our initial comments, and promptly moved back to complaining about wanting more music.
The only level headed comment of the day.

I don’t hate Libertad, but Scott’s lyrics are pretty weak on it.
Yeah,
Get Out The Door and Just Sixteen are probably his worst lyrics ever. Mary Mary not much better.
Overall his lyrics were awesome

I love the album.
Dave Kushner said that for Contraband they wrote like 50 songs and picked the best 12 or whatever, for Libertad they just recorded the first 14 songs they wrote and just went with it. He said it was a mistake, probably was.
I think the reason for the flop was that Contraband was the one of the hardest rock record of the decade if, not the hardest. Libertad is quite poprock ish.
I think the first half of the album is excellent Let It Roll-American Man. Then its hit and miss. A few harder songs. A la Do It For The Kids, Dirty Little Thing, Sucker Train Blues in there and it would have been better received.

Well obviosly the vinyls exists by now. And of course there are conciquenses if someone leaks it.
Thursday i asked my local record store if theres any chance i could get The Rolling Stones cd a day early. I was said, no chance. He will get banned by Universal for all new releases if he gets caught doing that. Its normal business.

Also possible that they are waiting for The Rolling Stones to have their momentum before promoting The General.

Nope, they did download 2006 as well. I almost guarantee if the two met now they'd get on much better. Seems Hatfield does seem to carry some animosity towards Axl and gnr to this day though
Hellfest last year too.

I'm still not able to hear any cipping issues in Perhaps. Tried with 3 different high-end phones here, and nothing. I did compared the Spotify high bitrate version to Apple Music's losless audio, and to my ears the later sounded better, but slightly.
Yeah im a bit surprised about that thread.
The mastering is actually a bit different. The louder you play it the better it sounds. Thats actually the opposite of clipping.
BUT when you play it in low volume it gives the effect that the song could be clipping since in low volume the sound is not as wide and some details gets lost. Could be the fact how the drums were recorded in some way in 2001 (ish) with a type of production in mind and the guitars in 2020 (ish)
Anyway Bob Ludwig is arguably the best in the business so i trust him.

With the band starting so early in recent years I think it's a shame so many people leave early. I get having to work, driving home and all, but it's not like they play until 2:00 AM or so. (I remember one GNR show I went to lasted past 1 AM, that's unheard of today.) They should just open with SCOM so actual fans could celebrate the rest of the show without all these innocent bystanders.
In Madrid this year they played until 00:52
In Hämeenlinna 2017 they played until 00:50

Still available at the euro store

Interesting that many left during the show. Ive never seen GNR in the states.
Quite a difference comparing to europe where everyone stands in the floor (theres no seats) and the stadium stays completely full until the bow in the end. Even at 3,5hour shows.

Was this the only show where Axl played As It Began? I think there might have been one more, but I can't remember which show it was.

I checked, As It Began was played at every North American show in 2002 except for Boston.
China/European shows only had Prostitute

Chris had a stroke recently and his playing is SEVERELY diminished. And that's after he took a lot of criticism for his performance in 2015-2016.
Simon was the rumor and he still sounds surprisingly good these days from recent clips I've heard. I'm happy for Laug though, Snakepit Mark II is a criminally underrated band.
Oh shit.
Sucks to see your heroes get old. Chris has had a big influence on my playing.

I dont think the 'take a step back' speech is from Rio.
I think its from a 1993 arena show. Or overdubbed.
Because, the sound quality sounds similar to Coma (Omaha 93)
You can hear someone in the crowd saying ''i am already'' with a american accent after Axl asks to take a step back. Its unlikely the crowd in Rio was silent enough to capture one dude with a American accent.
Axl said that the show just started and in the missing audio from Rio where it could be from is towards the end of the gig.
We have quite alot of uncirculated shows from the Spring 1993 tour. Unlike the rest of the UYI tour is quite well documented.
