Gotta love the constant "call Izzy to help with writing" lmfao

Maybe because they recoreded nothing short of genious untill TSI and recorded nothing worth listening since TSI (UYI (with Izzy) last authentic album).

There are some things money just can't buy, chemistry is, obviously, one of them.

For, Slash and Duff are def not worse musicians than they were 1991, 93.

  2. If GNR were a semi 'normal' band, they would bring on stage tonight for guest spots Adler/Gilby/Sorum/Izzy and a) make those songs justice b) treat their fans (the ones who actually DO care for the sake of band, aka hardcores), of course, none of that will happen and though their home show, no candy treat even on the setlist (ie Breakdown, Bad Apples, Locomotive, Dead Horse, Garden of Eden, Garden, Back off, Get in the ring...).

Not that Locomotive with Izzy/Gilby would be a nice surprise and a realistic possibility or anything with 3 guitars...

In 99 per cent of people's eyes the 'reunion' has already happened. Literally no-one has ever said to me "oh, it's not a proper reunion they don't have Steven Adler".

If you look around you at a GNR gig. Many people don't even know the album tracks, let alone who is on stage beyond Slash and Axl. The idea that changing Fortus and Ferrer for Izzy and Steven would sell more tickets is just mad.

Some of us here would like it, but that's it.

it is the only thing that enables Axl to tour same setlist for another 5 years. It is about branding the tour and it amazes me how many people there are who are clueless how things work.

As for studio record, no band that didn't have the chemistry ever made a half decent record, GNR or whoever (even Oasis w/o Bonehead and Guiggsy).

The only thing that can happen is the uninspired crap we've been getting under that moniker since 1993.  In the AFD - UYI era, the band has proven that when that bunch gets in the room - the magic happens, anyone doubting is delussional or deaf, but can always see record sales for evidence, if they were not around in that time.

Frankfurt also thinks that if Steven/Matt came back, not only would they write another YCBM, they'd convince Axl to scrap all the CD leftovers. Don't expect anything other than delusion from some people here...

    Funny who talks here:lol:

How many years have passed since CD?  How many songs from that era Axl released since? Thank you. He has already scrapped that crap it is just delusional people don't see it.;)

And yes...What evidence you have they would not write another YCBM if they had the members in the band they had chemistry with? What UYI quality song have they released since 1993?

Hope you take good care of that crystal bowl, would be a shame not to hear more stories from the future from you;)

People really need to stop this delusion. Izzy and Steven are NEVER going to boost ticket sales dramatically. Ever.

Most people don't know who they are. The handful of diehard fans desperate for their return probably wouldn't even fill one stadium, let alone 100+ across the world.

The tour with Izzy and Adler/Sorum being labeld as THE REUNION tour will boost ticket sales regardless what people think or what the setlist will look like.

Axl doesn't need an album for the next 5 or whatever years and can retour the world another 5 times over again.

t is not about Izzy (although, I would buy a ticket to see them for the first time since 1993), it is about that magic word - REUNION.

In a worst case scenario, Axl can use the baritone while Melissa handles the higher notes. That’s not exactly a terrible option if it ever gets to that point. Melissa is a talented vocalist.

or maybe we can have Iz/Gilby back in the band singing back up and not have Melissa in the band at all....

  7. I see people are mixing up quiet a lot of shit in this thread.

    1. Frank, Fortus and that chick are not there cause the others left and they hadn't. That is absolutely most silly remark. Those tools have no saying in the band whatsoever. They are not even on the merch or posters (unlikw Matt and Gilby).

They are cheapest tools who are told where and when to be period. Only reason they are there - give Axl leverage over Slash and Duff.

    2. People don't miss Iz per se. We just don't want to see any of that post UYI crap being released. With Iz it was all hits. Post UYI's - all miss. HS/Absurd/Perhaps prpve it takes a lot more to have new Jungle/Breakdown/YCBM/Locomotive than the 3.

    3. The reason we are ok with Matt and Gilby is cause Iz left on his terms, Adler was unusable. Matt and Gilby were first replacements and were perfect fit in every aspect (as someone mentioned not too long ago, Gilby's playing on TSI plays Fortus best to the ground any day). Matt - just look at YCBM, studio or live....

Plus....They were FIRST replacements.   Fortus and Frank are replacement of the 15th replacement. People naturaly want the BEST or second best solutions

  8. Sure it would.  Hits, airplay, hit albums draw crowds.  Were Gunners, Bon Jovi or U2 stadium bands before UYI's, Keep tthe faith, Actung Baby? No.

Does anyone really think HS/Absurd/Perhaps would have made it on any of the first 4 albums?

Izzy and Adler/Sorum would not only prevent them from writing such crap, but maybe even get them back on track with new YCBM or Paradise city, which would relaunch massiv airplay, album sales, ticket sales etc.

Finally, who here thinks people pay tickets to see Axl or HS/Absurd/CD/Wichita...? They come to see the songs off first 4 albums.  Let's be honest.

No. That will be why I said 'presumably'.

ok, I ll tell you a secret.

Last time anyone has heard of Iz was the time he complained because he wanted BACK in HIS band, that playes songs he co wrote, but that wasn't the way the loot spreaders wanted to spread the loot.

That to me sounds like he would be much happier back on stage with GNR moniker, earning a $ million per show.

  10. Truth is, would they  be able to settle the things, NOONE would say no. Izzy/Matt/Adler/Gilby, they would all show up.

Remember UYI days? Gilby/Matt were present under GNR moniker, on tour t shirts, band posters, did you see any member present on lito's, posters other than 3? Says enough about their importance and their saying in the band.

  11. It does make one wonder who has the access to the vidios and about timing.

There was nothing for almost 30 years, then 2018 (just days before they headed to Europe), we get Saskatoon clips followed by the whole  spectacular gig few days later.

Now just as they packed for Europe again - Citrus Bowl.

As if someone is sending message to Axl, def inside job, for not everyone has access to the vault.

Also...a proof that vault did not burn down, as some here claimed.

That one is just a b-side, to be fair.

B side or not, it is a Libertad era song,  that probably is better than any song on the album too

Is there a VR pages on this forum? What's the general consensus about them around here? Always thought 2nd album was weak, but listened to it (Libertad) all weekend and think it was misrepresented more so than being a weak album. I reprogrammed the album tracklisting, made it shorter and it's quiet the phenomenonal listening experience. Try it and let me know your thoughts.

From FlashFlood on Gnrevo: Can’t make this stuff up: Duff’s wife just said on their SXM show they are going to be playing Anything Goes on the upcoming tour.

Does that mean a line up change, maybe caused by dipping tix sales.

Other bands you have actually band members making comments about the band, here its wifes - how GNR
