Baseball is such an unbelievably boring sport to watch. Fucking terrible.
It doesn't offer the visual engagement of tennis nor football. It expect it's a really fun sport to play though.
I watched the movie Moneyball last night and had no idea what was happening in the baseball scenes.

She could also abdicate. But what are the odds?
Zero. From my understanding, she's always viewed this as a job for life, regardless of if it suited her personal preferences (according to The Crown, it hasn't).
Prince Charles has carried out royal engagements on her behalf for several years. My mum met him once. -

I'm sure there are lots of other pointless injustices in the world like this - but holy shit, poor guy. He's not a criminal and is arguably living a worse reality than some convicts.
Well that made me cry. I love that determination to return to seafaring after all this has happened. He's clearly very strong-minded to still have the ambition to become a captain.
I hope the media coverage helps his case.

99 years old, had the most blessed of adult lives and did his job mostly well. Can't really be sad about that. My sympathies are with his family.

wow! not many people live to 99 years old.
Does the Queen have to die for Prince Charles to become King? Not sure how that works.
Yes, that's exactly how it works.

A fantastic graphic. I could probably think of a normal GN'R Fans / MYGNRFORUM users Venn diagram.
As GN'R has been a vehicle for peddling overpriced merchandise, merch could have an iceberg all of its own. From reissued 1990 tshirts at the top, with watches and scented candles in the middle, to super rare collectors items at the bottom
Guns N' Roses has been the source of so many magically strange moments over the years. Who needs albums anyway?
As we're looking at some weird mygnr moments, I think this is an appropriate place to post, that if any of you who have been here since 2005 and remember the username Red who died of leukemia - she did no such thing. It was all faked, in a time before social media. -
I'm thinking about gender reversal in films.
Miss Congeniality
A hardworking, yet quirky male police officer has to do an undercover job as a Calvin Klein model. It's funny, heartwarming, and it turns out that he's already hot, so it's not a huge transformation.
They made $212 million with exactly the same story featuring Sandra Bullock.
My Big Fat Greek WeddingA man takes off his glasses and cardigan and marries a Greek woman.
$241 million.
I really need to get into show business.- 2

I'm glad that they patched things up. I remember Slash doing interviews for VR and being asked "When are GN'R reuniting?" and I don't recollect him saying "never" (though I could have missed that) but he said "VR is what I'm focusing on now". Sadly I think he must have known that Scott's days in the band were numbered. So perhaps there was a flicker of hope back then.
I don't think GN'R will ever be the band they were and I'm at peace with that.

Weetabix would work in a Slayer/Metallica type font I reckon. And clearly Alpen Museli is very much the New Romantic of breakfast cereals.
You're not wrong. An initial idea was Korn Flakes, but they were the wrong decade.

We get mocked?
I've only ever looked once and it appeared to be a range of openions from ex-mygnr people. Obviously those forums only exist because they can't be this one. Don't worry Graeme, you're as nice as pie. It's folks who become moderators, or have a particular shtick who recieved the criticism.
Hope you're doing well, where are you these days?

One of my clients is a popular long-running online forum, comparable to mygnr in many ways. It's part of a lifestyle brand which has a magazine. After twenty years, the magazine is publishing an article on the most dedicated forum members.
All we get is mockery on the other forums!

Thank you for sharing the news ZoSo. May she rest in peace.

All my life I've had mild rosacea - very pink cheeks. I've quit eating sweets, cakes and biscuits for Lent and the rosacea seems to be disappearing. It does make me wonder what else I could change if I was more discerning with what I ate.

Sorry Soulie, I hope that you can work something out with your father in law.
It's actually a profound example of something I've been pondering lately. What do we owe to family members who are a few degrees separated from us?
Most of us at least try to be respectful and friendly. But, there are times when they demand much more from us. Yet often they are people we barely know, or wouldn't naturally click with in a friendship.

That's very interesting. There's certainly an IDGAF strain in some people which extends to Covid.
The only person I know of who has broken the rules in a big way, is of someone who threw a birthday party for her six year old child. Maybe a dozen kids attended. She's a friend of a friend. She used to be a successful porn actress. Several people tried to report her, but there was nothing that could be done unless the party was still happening. I never wanted to conclude that people who get their genitals out for a job have fewer inhibitions, as that would be judgemental of me.

Who the heck is going to keep SoulMonster halfway in check now?
Yep, all Soulie's articulately described rational thoughts and friendliness really need to be held back. You can have too much intelligence and camaraderie in Anything Goes.

Today I started the task of changing a light bulb. It ended with me removing a lampshade using bolt cutters. So now I own bolt cutters.

Cancelling all public flights from the start would have been a good idea. Let the airlines and associated industries take the brunt. Any emergency/diplomatic flights can be arranged by a chartered private flight.
I understand that many passenger planes have been reappropriated for cargo.
Sadly the British take the most foreign holidays of any nation. It's ingrained in our culture. People will just pay for a holiday on their credit card and worry about paying for it later. It's mainly due to the combination of terrible weather and the high cost of holidays in the UK. Plus, thanks to putting in the early work, we can enjoy the legacy of colonialism by not having to learn a forrin' language!
I'm sorry that some British people are making the situation worse in some countries. I find it embarrassing that folks think they're above the law.

This was a gift from my sister who's undergrad is in psychology. I don't agree with everything he says, mostly because he's an atheist who can't comprehend how a theist can be intelligent or happy. But I respect his principles, he's intellectually honest and as a result of this book, I deleted my Twitter account. Worth every penny for that.

Imagine a nation where guns were generally illegal. Some specialist police officers could use them if they were qualified. But regular police officers only have a baton and pepper spray.
That's how the UK operates. Police aren't accidentally killing citizens. But neither are citizens killing the police nor each other. There will always be rogues, but the risk is greatly reduced.
Guns create more problems than they solve. It's time to remove them from US society.
