Gone back to Sekiro in the last couple of weeks. I've been trying to beat the same boss on and off for about 3 years now and thought I'd really have a go at it. I've put about 15 hours into the bastard since mid Feb and I still can't get past him but I've been dying with a little more dignity at least.

I'm just hoping that whatever it is they take the time to optimise it for the platform. I bought a 4090 a few months back thinking I'd just be able to throw anything at it to chew on and it would laugh at it but I've played a few games that run like shit because the developers obviously just couldn't be bothered to do a proper job. Star Wars Jedi Survivor runs at 70-80FPS at 4K with everything maxed but has terrible frame timings and stutters all over the place. Cyberpunk is another one. I can get 130-150FPS at max settings with DLSS and frame gen switched on but it's really stuttery too.

My wife's brother is visiting from the US for Christmas with his family and so far the only plans I've made is to go see Die Hard at the Prince Charles Cinema with him. 

My parents live at the other end of the country, one of my sisters lives in London near me and the other sister lives in Portugal so I don't have to worry about family drama. 

I agreed with my parents that we love each other very much but neither of us can be arsed to make the effort to spend Christmas together. 

It's probably a good thing that we're not going to the US this year as the last time we spent the holidays with my wife's family I got drunk with her brother and we ended up shooting (full) paint cans in his garage. Made a right fucking mess and burst an ear drum!

The way I look at it Rockstar gives us a magna opus every five years or so.  RDR 2 is probably my favourite game of all time in terms of scope, detail, storyline, etc.  It was spectacular.  I wouldn't want them to sacrifice anything for the sake of faster releases. 

I do agree that it would be nicer if they could service each game that wasn't completely reliant on the online platform.  I've found both GTA online and RDR online daunting and difficult to navigate.  But ultimately I'm in the minority and Rockstar has made a ton of money by using their online platforms to provide new content.  Just isn't in my thing.

I think GTA VI will be the game that finally gets me to buy a new console (likely a PS5).  I just don't have the time or energy to play games much anymore.  But GTA and RDR games are special for me.  So I'm looking forward to its release, though I'm not expecting anything until maybe late 2024 or spring 2025 (my money is on spring 2025 or possibly fall 2025).  

I'm praying for a timely PC release for this. I'd love to give this to my graphics card to chew on and I don't think I'd get away with sneaking a PS5 into the house at the moment.

My favourite to interact with though I think is Diesel Daisy. He was a grumpy fucked but hilarious with it. I've got no idea why but I pictured him as bald so Is rebuttal to something I jokingly said something like "at least Ive still got my hair on my head baldy"....Well I had no idea he would bite so hard, his composure went and he would defend how luxurious and  thick his hair was. I've never seen the man so I had no idea what his head looked like but It worked every time.. I just had to mention his thinning hairline and off he would go again 🤣

Been playing Alan Wake 2 for the past day or so. I’m absolutely blown away with how gorgeous it is. Full real time path tracing just looks unbelievable.

Watched the Monster Squad with my 8 year old last night. She loved it.
