Don't you guys have some law where Quebec residents can't enter contests or something over a certain amount?

No.  It's just because the GN'R clan, or the promoter is lazy.

The province of Quebec was sick of the fake contest and scam and they voted a law that if you do a contest you have to registered it.  You have to give a small deposit to make sure that you are legit.
The whole process takes about 5 minutes with an online form.

These are the only 2 arena gigs they are doing.  Their stadium setup is going to be different.  So I'm assuming they just used a generic stage (stage looked plain) and wanted to have some action behind it.  I'm pretty sure that's all it was and most likely the last time we will see those effects.

    Good point !

  3. Hey guys ;)

Am I the only one who doesn’t know how to react with the reunion?   I had the feeling it was coming for a few years now.  I was lucky enough to meet Axl a few times and share drinks with him.   I have heard stories that he used to talk shit about Slash during the after show parties.  But the 4 times I was there, I was surprised how he was telling funny stories from the Illusions era and saying nice things about Slash.  It really felt like the anger was gone.    The last show in Montreal, had a different vibe. I had a drink with a few GN’R members after the show and you could feel that something was going on.

I have the feeling that DJ was ask to leave and that it wasn’t his decision.  When he announced that he departed, I knew that Slash was back.

The reason I love GN’R is the music. Maybe it’s because I saw them live so many times that I’m not that hype about another nostalgia tour, even if now Slash and Duff are back.  Will I go see them, I probably will just to witness Slash and Axl back together again.

I think it’s time for GN’R to release new music, and I really hope that during this tour they will find that spark that will make them wants to record new music.

  4. Who knew back in 96 when Axl recreated Guns N' Roses it was to reap all of that nostalgic money. Nice long term goal Axl. You're essentially Mini-Kiss.

KISS has released two excellent albums since 2008, has changed it's setlist, stage, has released numerous products including live DVDs, compilations, merch etc, and treat their fans the way they should be treated. Of all bands I love, I am fulfilled as a KISS fan more so than any other band. If I wanted to buy something related to KISS, even music-wise, that I don't have or haven't heard yet, I can. I always can. With GnR, I'm bored beyond words.

If they treat the fans the way they should be treated, they wouldn't have pulled that disgusting Tommy Thayer move.

    This!

I have met Beta a few times and yes she was a nice woman. The problem is that she changed a lot. From her latest action, she's not the woman I used to respect. She tried to control fans and she got a few people mad because of a lot of reasons.

She have to understand something. Yes GN'R is a band but at the same time, it's a business. If you don't respect your fans, they won't respect you. Don't get me wrong, I don't like to see this being post on the web, but she kinda caused all this.

  5. I will say this though, I don't disagree with some of that review.

The bar was half full, at best.

what needs to happen to you completely lose your faith? honest question. i like to know the mods opinions.

Oh don't get me wrong man, it's hanging on a thin thread. :tongue2:

See, the thing is, at that show Monday night, I witnessed Axl Rose.

What I mean by that is, that guy can still turn it on, when he wants to, and when he does you fucking know it.

At times throughout the show, I saw some of the same Axl Rose that I first saw in Toronto in '91.

And that's why I still hang on. It's there to do something with and god damn it I'd love to see him pull something out of the hat, ya know?

I just don't understand the lack of productivity. :shrugs:

The cupcakes can bag on shitty youtube clips all they want, but standing in a bar Monday night watching Axl Rose, carefully, it was obvious to me that there is enough gas in the can to do something more, even if it was with the original line up, if he were to so choose. That is, if he isn't going to bother doing anything creatively new.

I'd love to hear new music, I really would, but man...if you're done with your muse, call up the lads and kick it up right, because you know you still can.

If all you're going to do is tour the classics, then burn this shit to the ground with the fuckin boys and exit stage left.

There's a gazillion fans out there who'd god love ya for it.

Or you can keep playing half filled bars.

That's exactly how I felt about the Montreal show! Great post Zint!

  6. That clip of Better is better than I expected after hearing PC and what Montrealer said. Those are the parts he sometimes puts effort into, though, so I'm curious to hear what he sounded like on the rest of the song.

Watching some 2010 vids, I knew the voice was worlds apart from where it is now, but I'm just as struck by how much more energetic he was. It's really his entire performance that has fallen off a cliff.

Yeah, the rasp was back later in the song but I wish there was a full video of the song. The begining was Mickey all the way :(

HG, I don't agree with you on this. I think that the song he was most energic was The Seeker O_o

Hey don't get me wrong, it was a good show but I really feel Axl doesn't give 100% of his capacity.

im gonna have to disagree with you on that first part and the last part... i found better was really good the whole way through... about not giving 100% well idk... i think he did... like i posted earlier, it seemed like he wasnt as motivated to sing the older stuff, plus the fans singing kinda drowned alot of it out... might even have thrown him off at a few points too... imagine trying to sing a classic song like estranged, at the same time as 3000 other people... i bet its tough, even if hes the only one with a mic... i do agree with the energy on the seeker tho... seems like hes just as motivated to sing the covers as he is to sing the CD stuff... probably has alot to do with how he feels about those songs... apart from the instrumental covers, im sure axl hand picked the songs he covers... you can tell hes more motivated to sing the stuff he really feels

BTW, looking at your vid, I was right next to you.
