Seriously, what the hell happened to this band?

The lead singer decided to take the name and create a new business/legal entity called Guns N Roses, ending the old partnership/band that had that name. He used the Guns N Roses name for his solo project instead of calling it Axl Rose.

In 2016 the old partnership was reformed with the name Guns N Roses but songs from the Axl Rose project re-recorded are still getting released under the Guns N Roses name.

In simple words, it went wrong when Axl Rose considered Guns n roses as his solo and only project in life.

  2. 2024

Monster & Atlas Shrugged Or Monster & State of Grace released in Summer/September followed by a full CDII album or EP November/Christmas🤞

    2025

Either new tour supporting CDII album/ep release or start recording a new GNR album with new songs. Maybe call Izzy & Brain to help with studio recording of new songs.

  3. All GNR Releases had longer songs above 5mins

AFD had: Paradise City, Roccket Queen
GNR Lies: Patience, One In A Million
UYI I: Bad Obsession, Back Off Bitch, November Rain, The Garden, Dont Damn Me, Coma
UYI II: Civil War, Knickin Oh Heavens Door, Get In The Ring, Breakdown, Locomotive, Estranges, You Could Be Mine
TSI: Human Being, Ain't It Fun
CD: There was A Time, Catcher In The Rye, This i Love, Sorry, Prostitute, Madagascar

    CD II/New Releases None!?
I can assume the longer songs are kept for an album release & they drip feed us only single/radio length songs of 4min avg.

  4. Absurd, Hardskool, Perhaps, The General, Monsters, Atlas Shrugged, State of Grace average 4 mins only.

Are they intentional saving the longer more "epic" songs of "CD2" for a full album release?

Songs like (Twat, Catcher, This i Love, Sorry, Prostitute, Madagascar)?

DId Slash said in an interview "6 songs & then put on an album"?

    Makes more sense to me.

    Your thoughts?

  5. You could be mine video in MTV in summer 1992 in Greece. I was so impressed with the live band and T2 movie scenes together and got hooked. Soon i bought the use your illusion 1 vinyl thinking the song will be in it...it was not but so many other great tracks in it that were growing daily on me. I still remeber the smell of the cover, the innerfold the vinyls and the needle of the record player. I felt so much warmth, comfort, it was  like shooting heroin running through my veins. I couldn't stop playing those songs, reading the lyrics and try to find all type of magazines, articles, stickers, photos, posters, t-shirts & information about the band. Eventually i bought uyi2 vinyl which i loved even more and eventually the afd vinyl with the rape cover, which at first i didnt like as much as the uyi albums. It took me some time.

Remember following the HTGTH forum hopping the band will form again and release new songs, really supporting axl and his new band and all the slash and duffs solo projects.

Highlight the 2002 Leeds & london shows and even more the 2006 UK tour with izzy all the 6-7 shows which i filmed them and released.

I remember being dissatisfied with VR which i even left mid concert to return home.

Also dissatisfied that robin, buckethead and brain were replaced by DJashba, frank and bumblefoot. Lost a lot of interest between 2010 & 2016 and connection with the band.

The reunion sparked some i interest and Axl/DC and especially when at  2021 started releasing songs again and the 1991 ritz video and this year shows where Axl finally after 2006 looked more engaged, happy, talkative and fit running & performing more to my liking. The lack of rasp & the cleaner voice i dont mind it as much, though 2006 voice was very pleasant for me.

Can't wait for all the cd2 songs to be released and finally bring a closure to that era since it started about 1996.

  6. All the Chinese era reworked & finished songs to be released within 2024 dripped fed.
All those (including the 4 ones laready released) to be presented in an album format at the end 2024 (CD II)
2024 to bring full closure to that era, for everyone.🤞

2025 focus on a new era writting new songs from scratch.
Even maybe bring Izzy, Steven or Brain in the the studio/ for writing purposes if needs be.
Not necessarily involve Izzy & Steven in the future long tours though, Richard  & Brain are fine to me.
    Get rid of Frank!

  7. Yes i agree. All the Chinese era reworked songs to be released in 2024 (including the 4 ones) as Chinese Democracy II or sth and be done with it. 2024 to bring a closure to that era, for everyone.🤞

Then 2025 focus on a new era of being trully creative again as a reunion band.

Even maybe bring izzy just for the studio/writting purposes for a few songs if needs be, give him some writing credit too, though not necessarily involve him in the future long tours.

Yea, it's another song that was massively over-hyped and I'm sure we've already heard the best version(s) of it.

The best thing they could do is unload whatever is left before the next tour. 12" EP, 45 rpm, 2 songs per side. Monsters/SOG and Atlas/Nothing, or something like that. Slap some shitty artwork on the front and take my $40. Then finally move the fuck on from the CD era.

Yep, or two 7inches with 2 songs each in 2024,  like the rest of the recent releases so far.

    Altlas / Monsters

    State of Grace / ???

Team Brazil isn't just a management firm who would decided that, "No, I don't want to work for this client because the strategies I have to execute doesn't make sense and I have no power to influence outcomes." Team Brazil are family, first and foremost. Family that helps out with what needs to be done. They don't have the option to leave. That being said, as far as I understand it, Beta is not part of the management any longer, at least not formally. We could speculate why that is.

If it helps you, stop thinking about them as empowered managers and rather think of them as executive assistants.

Secondly, thinking that better managers would find a way to steer Axl in directions he don't want to go, is naive considering the fact that more experienced managers tried that and failed spectacularly.

Lastly, I am sure Team Brazil offers their opinions to Axl on various matters, on a frequency and with an insistence that balances various factors: likelihood of actually swaying him in any direction, likelihood of making him annoyed, likelihood of getting fired, etc. They know him better than us, and they know what battles are worth fighting and hills to die upon. Just like Slash and Duff.

I agree with most of the post. What i disagree is that they "dont have the option to leave"...

I was there in 1993 and the number seems accurate as far as how many people were there with a ticket. At first, the upper decks were all empty and there were lots of empty seats in the lower ones (not even the arena was full). Then the organizers let people without tickets in and it was about half full. That show was a failure, mostly because tickets were extremely expensive for the time, but also because Metallica were playing here (for the first time as well) about a month later in a significantly smaller venue, with lower ticket prices and a strong opening act (The Cult).

Also another factor was the national high school greek exams that were happening at the same time.

I unfortunately totally agree with the above, and this is coming from someone who absolutely love the guy, started the guitar the 32 years ago because of him (hell he even signed and offered our wedding gift)

But after both snakepit album, both his guitar tone and playing are going in a direction that isn’t the best.

I have a zillion of bootlegs from the UYI tours, and for the sake of simplicity I will use Tokyo 92 as a reference point, as it showcases a powerful Marshall tone, solos on time and improvisations that you could almost whistle/play years later, as they were melodic.

These days, the sound/tone isn’t great at all (what’s up with the use of a nasal fuzz on all solos now ?!?), never use a clean channel anymore for clean parts (and trust me I’m all for using your volume knob as much as possible, but here, when you hear the intro of Paradise that is so dirty… come on! His tech is already pushing of knobs, might as well switch to a real clean channel)

and now his playing (and to a certain extent his attitude on stage too):

almost all solos aren’t on time, it’s like he has a delay in his in-ears monitors!

Of course you can always play with the tempo, a bit behind or just before, all good as long you’re in the pocket. But now? We’re clearly past this stage…

    and the solos/improvisations:

used to be so melodic improvisations (like I mentioned above), less notes, articulate, almost as if they were written improvisation as they were so good.
Now it’s just wanking the neck, and play a millions uninspired notes (for 15 min at times…) and that’s it…

And finally the attitude, at Glastonbury noticeably, but I have seen this before, he looks bored, very few interactions and smiles. I know coming from a divorce, splashing crazy amount of money to Perla each month, the reunion offer was too good to turn it down, but I sincerely he hasn’t done all this only for the bad reason ($$$$)

Again this is coming from someone who loves Slash, worships him, and respects the guy like no other.
But this has concerned me a lot for years, and there’s no signs of improvement unfortunately.

at least we have the old bootlegs and videos from the past ahahah!

Maybe the reason of that change of his playing, tone, feel is that Slash is no longer under the influence of drugs or alcohol. That wires your nervous system and brain differently.

  12. At last Axl became lighter, more animated, simple fitting rock clothes, rock attitude, communicating with the crowd, reminding the 90s Axl . At last a reunion gig where Axl is not as noticeable the weakest link of the 3....I don't care that much for the voice performance & michy mouse parts. The stage present is what matters to me the most, an Axl who is engaged giving it all. Thank you Axl for finally giving two shits and performing to a level on par with the Guns n Roses history and legacy...I missed that energy since 2006 and now you have both Slash & Duff as well, creating magic on stage. So grateful to watch that performancerock3
