Oh there's a loop alright, it's called a perpetual loop of nothingness
The closest thing to a loop with this band is the fruit loops swirling around Axl's cereal bowl in the morning, and lord knows given the size of him he ain't sharing those with anybody.
Hence why we are where we are right now.

The Fernando message brought me to ease a bit in the hope something is going to happen
Really?
Fernando doesn't know his head from the hole in his ass if you want to be real about it. He has lied to us for years about pretty much everything.
I would say the only person to believe about anything is Axl, but I don't even trust a word he says given his track record.

Is he working to get Axl off the couch lol
Getting a crane this time of year can be kind of tough.

But it bothers me that there will probably be many more songs like Twat and Prostitute that he'll almost never sing live because they're brutal.
I share this same concern.
The solution is to stop being like Britney Spears then and record vocals that can actually be replicated live. He's a big fraud if he keeps recording shit using all sorts of computerized shit to make his voice something its not.

I wouldn't expect a new album. That was your first mistake.
-
WHAT?!
I thought he was 35 or something like that.
You look at Myles and Todd who are both 45 and then you look at pictures of Axl 5-6 years ago when he was that age and you wonder what the hell happened to him.
Goes to show how big a difference taking care of yourself can make in the aging process.

I reckon there was 9000 at manchester and leeds. With standing sold out on both.
You're not far off.
I worked the Slash shift in Manchester, 9,500 sold with 10,000 expected.
First thing that hit me when I walked in is that Slash sold SIGNIFICANTLY more than Axl did on the 2012 run.
He's (and the rest of the guys) worked his ass off to get this band to be taken seriously. He he started this in 2010 and he was playing shows that were a fraction of that. Keeps at it though and with each tour/album cycle you can see they are growing.
I think it's freaking awesome that he has managed to grow his solo band into playing respectable sized venues because he has put in the work.

He's just the GNR keyboard player, he's in no position to talk about future plans.
It's a sad state of affairs when the housekeepers evil spawn know more about a band's status than it's own members.
-
Myles is what he is, but as far as the band goes they play the shit out of YCBM in that video posted above. Musically that is about as good as that song has sounded since the Illusions. Brent is the man on the drums.

I know when you're rich everything is relative, but that was a hell of a generous gift. Slash likely paid a small fortune acquiring it, and at the time he gave it back to Joe it had likely appreciated significantly as the market for those is insane.
Doing a good deed is one thing, but that was way above and beyond considering what it was likely worth as well as the fact he is personally obsessed with guitars so giving up one with that lineage was probably tough as he probably really liked it.
-
How about turning GNR into a family affair.
The Lebeis family has been bleeding him dry for decades now, how about getting some use out of them.
Get them music lessons and have them play instruments to cover the songs live. Fernando on lead guitar, Vanessa on bass, Beta making Pitman's weird noises, Jarmo on drums during live shows.
Axl would never have to worry about line-up changes again, and could turn GNR into the monster he always envisioned.
It's absurd he calls it GNR anyway, so why not just go the distance and really commit like this.

there was rumor of matt sorum wanting to return, perhaps frank was let go.
perhaps axl is taking a long hiatus for a restructure.
Vr reunion without Slash/Scott but with Axl/DJ?
-
At the end of the day interscope is truly only interested in putting out a gnr album if slash is back.
Can you blame them? Whoever signed GNR in the first place never envisioned they were handing over so much cash to get a Slashless GNR record.
That was all a product of Axl's bait and switch to use the GNR name to fund his solo career.
The label rightfully has made his life hell for screwing them.
-
Silk Worms is possibly the single most embarrassing attempt at a song in GNR history.
Axl is probably horrified they ever played it live, and ti is why we have never heard a thing about it again.
-
i think the solo for 'battleground' reminds me a bit of 'messages,' which, imo, is still one of the best tunes slash has ever done.
Had the exact same thought when I heard it.
-
Axl is not stupid.
Have you not been paying attention the past decade plus?
The guy is a full blown retard at this point for allowing himself to have his career drug into the ground by the Brazillian family that has been ripping him off and playing on his emotions.
I wish I could agree with you, but 15 years of destroying your career tells me and everyone else otherwise as far as your original statement.

That's nearly fifty new songs in 5 years
All the more remarkable when you consider that he has to share his lead singer with another band.
Myles song count the past 5 years is through the roof right now.
Seeing Slash be able to be so productive under these circumstances really drives home the level of ineptitude this community has had to put up with the past decade plus from its namesake.

I agree with Howard, Slash's November Rain outro gives you the chills, every time.
The NR outro might be my favorite 2 minutes of music ever.
I just thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time with Slash doing the outro on top of the piano from the video.
-
Listening to Slash's riffs on this album almost makes me sad in a way because I still think he/duff/izzy could whip up a killer GNR record in short order. Slash still has that "it" in his guitar that just can't be replicated.
The album as a whole is an inspired effort and I am happy to see that even pushing 50 he's still able to be creative like this.

Big kudos to Myles.
This is the 4th full album of new material he has released since 2010 (not including Slash's solo songs) and he sounds great.
When you consider most of his writing is happening on the road while touring with the 2 bands it is all the more impressive that he hasn't run into a case of writers block.
People bag on the guy on this board, but my hats off because he's pretty much the hardest working guy in rock right now as he's constantly on tour and is pumping out new full albums yearly.
It's not like he's in his 20's either with boundless energy, the guy is going to be 45 in 2 months.
Not sure where all this is going in the future, but he's had a great little run these past 4 years.

Just gave it my first listen.
Not sure what I think. There is alot of variety packed into this album. This is a much more inspired effort than AL was.
Myles sounds great, and there are some killer melodies across the album.
As a band they seem to have found some semblance of a sound. Slash sounds like Slash, but this doesn't have a dated sound at all.
There is no "Anastasia", but as a whole it's a stronger effort across the album. It isn't generic, and it's going to take a while to digest. On a first listen that is a win in my book.

''Perhaps slightly cheesy when they start the sing-along “La la la la la la la Lar la”.
This has completely killed my hype for Battleground =( Is it really that cheesy slash2baz?
Haven't heard it, but Myles was quoted in an interview a while back in the process about being totally blown away by Slash's solo in it so that gives me hope.

I saw on the Alter Bridge board that you can apparently buy sarafi inn right now on itunes.
What was 2006 like here on the forums?

At least we could still hang on to the myth of what CD was at that point. Sadly once everyone heard it and subsequently saw Axl's half assed level of commitment we realized it was all over but the shouting.
Not to mention at this time it become apparent just how much TB had brainwashed Axl and how far gone he was. The realization he was no longer a fully functioning human being was kind of sad for many of us compared to what we had all remembered.
