I said this in the other thread, but I find it super interesting how Duff claims to be a big supporter of the MeToo movement but when someone in his camp is accused, radio silence.
Granted I would like to see this band and lineup stay together for a while so I’m not rooting for some big fallout or anything. All I’m saying is that it’s very interesting.
How did Slash call him when he paid a (unsuccesful) visit to Axl back in 2006? "Spineless", I presume?

He absolutely has acted that way. He has never behaved as a replacement, has showed absolutely zero humility or appreciation to Axl or the other guys. Whether it's his 20+ years of interviews since leaving the band or his autobiography, he has been snide, egotistical and has always equated himself to the others, when he has no such importance. Exhibit A: his demanding that Duff force Axl to include him in the reunion.
Like, seriously? Never heard or read about his appreciation for Izzy, Slash, Axl or even Steven? Really?
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying he's a supernice guy or a walk in a park kind of person, I am just saying you're massively exaggerating.- 4

Matt Sorum has always acted like he was a founding member of GNR, and also as someone who had a major hand in writing their biggest hits. He was neither, so his ego has always come off as not only out of control but way undeserved.
That's nonsense. He never acted that way.

This could be very true, at least I heard something very similar some 20 years ago - from Slash's publicist at the time (we were in touch because of an interview).

Whiners should go and try to take that many gigs a year at their 60s
Ronnie James Dio. Do you remember the guy? Or Glenn Hughes.

The best album any of the members released after GnR is Ain’t Life Grand for the record.
Rod was/is a great singer. Slash was not happy about the band though.

Hello fellow gunners. Regarding Axl mentioning Izzy lately and adding Izzy’s song in setlist I as an old GNR fan can’t seem to shake an opinion that Axl is hurting since 1991 when Izzy left. Not meaning hurting as he can’t cope with it but Izzy is the one Axl respects the most. Thank you for your replies.
He did? When?

I'd have to go with those last two Loaded records. They were cool.
Interesting. I like them both but to me Dark Days is - along with Neurotic Outsiders - the greatest Duff's solo output of all. Also Beautiful Disease is very cool record, especially Who's to Blame. Oh wait, and Walking Papers and Leevee Walkers... The motherfucker puto out more stuff than Izzy! :-D

Some great singing there + songs like Crestfallen or Forgotten Cases and especially Fragile Water are surprisingly good with some strange but interesting flavor of American musical on the top of it. Enjoyed it much more than Gilby's or Duff's last solo efforts.
But as for the best solo effort - Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds. Period.

Got nothing against Izzy at all. If the man doesn't wanna do it anymore, let him stay at home living his life. But I sure as hell don't think GnR would "sound better" if he joined the band on tour.
Probably wouldn't, Izzy became pretty lazy when it comes to rehearsal etc., Richard is a far more reliable player (let alone his technical skills).
But in the studio... Well, that would be a completely different question. If Izzy would join the rest of the guys in the studio, my expectations would be doubled.- 2

Tommy always seemed like something of a bully. The environment probably had some toxic elements, but I don't want to speculate too much. I don't know enough about the subject.
Bully or the guy who took the responsibility, some sort of father figure. Depends on the point of view.

Good thing Tommy was able to bring an extra copy of the demo to the concert the other night to give to Axl so they could get the song finished and finally released.

You think that they’re in touch with Steven but not Izzy. Really? I always had the impression that they still got on with Izzy, and Steven was left out in the cold.
That has changed after the reunion financial negotiations. Just a speculation, though.

I'm pretty sure Slash is very unhappy about the situation. Both 4tus and Nuno (in his second statement) acted like weirdos.

There are a number of things that could be preventing the band from releasing anything. It's not as simple as writing lyrics and recording the music.
We don't even know if the band has a current record label deal nor who would finance the cost of new music being created and released.
No record label is going to throw millions of dollars at this band to hole up in a recording studio for a year or more. The days of multi million dollar record label contracts ended when record sales declined.
If you take a step back and be open minded, you might see that the band are creating revenue from touring for a reason.. That reason could be to pay there own way and be independent and free taking control over there own music and how it's released.
Did you ever stop to think, it could actually be a legal issue or a contractual issue preventing new music from being released by the band..
You're funny

“I told her, ‘Hey, if you ever need me to put some guitar on something, just let me know and I'll do it!’ And so she hit me back about two weeks, three weeks later, and said she's got this song that she's doing a remake of and asked if I'd put some guitar on that. [Guns N’ Roses] did a show in Norway and I had a day off, so I found a cool engineer and studio in Norway and just put the guitars on there. It's amazing how fast it came out.”
Well, I guess Lovato figured out how to release records nowadays.- 1

This. Slash just doesn't get the connection between him and Izzy, as evidenced by his UYI comments in his book where he felt he needed to overdub extra guitars to fill around Izzy's parts.
Yeah but remember his later comments where he repeatedly insisted Izzy was the only guitar player he really meshed with (along with Dave Kushner). When it comes to Iz, Slash has his ups and downs but the negative comments were usually related to his disappointment on a personal level (Izzy leaving the band in a bad way etc.).
