    Yeah same.

Was there a limit on how many you can buy? I hope so as otherwise I reckon people have bought them up in bulk.

Dont think there was a limit. They should have absolutely done that though. It was gone within a hour from the 10am EST launch (the site was also live around 10 mins before the announcement)

Also my order confirmation says signed in the description. Got one of each

  2. Axl seems to have issues when he’s consistently changing registers. Especially when adding power/rasp, which happens frequently in GNR’s catalog

AC/DC was much more straight forward vocally and it was actually probably easier for him to be more consistent in mainly that register as long as he was prepared vocally

Couple that with coming off for him a scorching 2016 reunion tour vocally, he then carried that through to those gigs

  3. Nobody cares about a new song in 2023 except for us. It’s a nostalgia band to 95% of the public. If they even heard it, it’s forgotten in a week. No matter how positive or negative a reaction.

New music is not why they go to a show. New music reminds them that they are on tour. It’s a news cycle refresh

Who cares about “rep”? Like and enjoy what you want. Not what other people perceive

Don’t know if this has been brought up, but I tend to think this forum, Reddit, and all the other comments made on any other social media platform provoked the official statement regarding the “Perhaps” vinyl delay.

Never in a million years would I have imagined GNR actually acknowledging such a folly… but I really think enough folks (myself included) were vocal about their frustrations, hence actually getting an explanation.

Maybe the same logic can be applied to getting TG’s clipping issue fixed… yes, the mix is not perfect, but the clipping really should be dealt with ASAP.

People were cancelling preorders. That’s why they made a statement

  5. Between the clipping and the pixelated cover art, it should tell you the level of detail and care that went into this

Seems like they don’t care, there’s little attention to detail and/or they’re too cheap.

Maybe one day it gets fixed. However it certainly questions their ability to handle the live vault of material with this kind of track record. If that’s in their plans, it would be unfortunate if this is the level that’s acceptable

It is good enough for an album, but not in the released version. The song itself is good, but the production, mixing and mastering are not great at all let’s be honest, and I think the band would struggle to place it, at least as released, alongside Hardskool etc and get away with it sonically. The album would sound like a mess. They should have re-recorded it from scratch as a fresh production with a decent studio engineer, producer etc.

They should have re-recorded all of these songs from the ground up to make them more of their own. They clearly didn’t want to put in the $ and time on that level

They sound like CD leftovers because that’s the foundation. It’s Slash and Duff pasted on Brain and early 2000/late 90’s Axl’s vision of the band. It simply doesn’t represent the current band  or how they’d play these songs live

Also The General being the Sequel to Estranged is one the most ridiculous things that Axl has ever said. I cannot even imagine how those two songs relate in his mind. His Brain must be like one of those police investigation walls with strings connecting seemingly unrelated events or people.

If you want to look at it in the way that his abuse as a child affected his relationships later on in life? That’s the only thing I can string together

doesn't seem very plausible to me. Not an approach I can see Axl taking, it just seems too cheap for Axl to agree to use Chinese material just to make a deal with promotors so the tour could keep going.

my guess is that Axl chose to release these singles this way and there is no obligation to release anything when it comes to original material.

When the alternative is for Axl to do press to keep the big shows happening? Maybe he’d rather just negotiate the songs to be released to fulfill that commitment

Does it make sense though to release a song towards the end of the tour? How does this serve the purpose of promotion if there are only two or three shows left? And The General wasn't even scheduled to be released during the tour - the tour would originally end on Oct. 16 and the initial release date was Oct. 27.

If it’s just to fulfill a contract? Sure. It’s all negotiated. The General also isn’t technically a single. It’s a B side to Perhaps. They also announced the pre-sale and its inclusion during the tour.

Perhaps died within a week. it had like 4m youtube views and trended. 2 months later it's barely changed and people moved on. that's throwing a song away. If that song was immediately followed by another then another then an album it wouldnt have. If you give people an album they move onto the next song on that album and the next etc, then they go back to the song they loved at first and the cycle continues. You release songs one every few years they fall off a cliff and you forget about the band. you have them in an album you're continually eating those M&Ms

That’s what these songs serve as. A news cycle bump. These songs were released half way and towards the end of the tour. We seem to get 2 of them per leg.

It looks like these songs were part of their promotion obligation with the promoter. Nothing more, nothing less. Repurposing what’s available and Axl doesn’t have to to do press. They make more $ off of negotiating a deal with live nation to drip these out every leg than what Spotify and some physical sales would produce

Maybe if they come together to write an album’s worth of songs, it will be different next time

  11. Hit Best Buy in LA at opening. This store was one of the flagship music stores that also sold instruments and they’d usually get a lot of promo items/signed items etc..

Went in and they had red hand covers in the display. Didn’t grab one. Grabbed the normal cover and vinyl. Thought about it all day and went back after work. They were all pulled

Hardly on the scale of the stones promotion, let's remember that these tracks are only released at all because of the village leaks...the stones just went & recorded a record even with Charlie passing away

The Stones were promoting an entire record

GNR was promoting a single in the midst of a tour. One that isn’t even available to purchase as a physical copy yet

  13. It’s most likely he made moves on her or talked in a way to which that could be perceived. I would think there are texts to back it up with the amount of detail here. When you’re in charge, you now have a power dynamic with everyone involved. Your conversations need to be more calculated as a result

It’s also the music business. Things can sometimes be perceived as being lax. It’s not corporate.  I doubt most bands have a HR expert on staff

For GNR, it presents an issue. Not only could this cost them monetarily, but it opens up the possibility for future damages as well. If another incident happens on their watch even with different parties, they can be perceived harboring a certain type of environment by not taking any action here.

I still think this gets settled out of court

Why? Slash certainly wouldn't have gotte fired, that's for sure. That would have been the end of GNR. Axl needs him more than he needs Axl these days.

They need each other. None of them are getting paid that much on their own. The tour being canceled affects all of them legally and financially

They may have known. It would have cost them less to settle after the tour ended
