    unfortunately it won't happen

I could see a situation where new management is brought in and TB is essentially back to being personal assistants

Theres a good chunk of $ at stake here. A settlement is coming out of the band’s pocket. Potential touring and relationships  at stake if he sticks around on that level

    He's still with Marshall too

He’s just not an exclusive artist with them. It looks like Magnatone came to the table with something that Marshall couldn’t/wouldn’t  provide. The ownership change might also a mean a change of direction with how they look at those deals as well. Marshall’s focus seems to be on integrating the brand with their parent company and producing import models. That’s where Slash probably fits in. Not so much with a high priced amp that he’d use on stage

  3. Exclusivity comes at a price. Slash now gets to shop around. Marshall has also recently changed ownership and maybe they simply weren’t willing to cater to what he wants from that relationship any longer. Maybe Magnatone just came to the table ready to collaborate

He doesn’t even play strictly Gibson. The BC Rich, Guild double necks, Travis Bean etc… have been stage used for years. It would be wild to see him take out a tele though

The article does say that it's not clear if Slash will ditch Marshall. As it mentioned the SKMC tour, maybe he would still stick to Marshall with GNR?

Do you know anything about Magnatone? I don't think I've ever heard one.

I think he’s been using magnatone already on the last tour. They’ve prob built him an amp close to his Marshall specs and even throw the same celestion speakers in the cab

To my brain, a delay in the vinyl due to sound quality + the band trying to fit 9 minutes of music on a 7" go hand-in-hand.

Vinyl absolutely can and has hold way more music than most Google results can find because they're based off of the modern standard for vinyl printing, which is 'make it good as sound as good as possible or else why not just make a digital copy?' And Justice For All by Metallica was a 65 minute album printed on a single LP to cut costs for the consumer. The pressing is not great but it's very possible. Edit: I'm wrong about AJFA, whoops! I'm fairly certain there's a 60ish minute thrash album in the 80s printed on a single LP but I can't remember what it is now.

There’s a ton of reasons as to why something doesn’t translate to vinyl. Running time can be one of them. Mastering needs for vinyl is another big one. My guess goes towards the latter

The hidden song theory just doesn’t make sense to me. They played it live. I wouldn’t expect more than what was presented. You’d think they’d want to stretch everything they have over multiple releases or hold something back for an EP/LP release with all of the singles

Azoff got fired just because he pushed him into a reunion.

Yeah. Azoff is notorious as a manager for creating reunions through isolation/manipulation. That’s his playbook. Why hire him? Unless you wanted to go down that road at some point? It never really made sense

I think part of it was also his part in forcing the album out

  7. A few thoughts on the album front

    1. the follow up album was most likely done. Once UMG stopped funding the project, it probably made things complicated. Especially when the follow up was ready and you get into advances

    2. Singles vs album approach. It seems like they are working these releases within their touring deals. 2 songs per tour and you get to go to the well many times over vs just one album release. Maybe it’s just all part of the negotiation. It creates a news cycle and fulfills their promotion obligation since Axl doesn’t do interviews

    3. Whenever they’re done getting everything out, we will see everything released on one album. With all of the $50 color vinyl variants that you would want

    4. The more these rehashed songs get released, the better chance of an expanded Chinese Democracy box set

Something I’ve noticed that probably means sweet nothing but the date caught my attention, Biffy Clyro literally just announced an anniversary vinyl bundle, something I’d be interested in. The release date is December 8th, I don’t know why but I found that an odd coincidence considering the changed date of the Perhaps vinyl is also December 8th. Originally the release date for Perhaps was today obviously along with some other big releases today including a Prince SDE and a Taylor Swift album. They came out without a hitch. Are bigger artists or more popular/in demand releases getting priority over smaller releases? And that could be the issue Guns have run in to with Perhaps? And December 8th is a quieter time to release vinyl?

    … perhaps?

It’s possible that big releases such as The Stones and the Beatles could have pushed them back in the queue

However if it did, management, the band and UMG knew about this for weeks if not months. They need to communicate the delay. It looks like UMG had to send out a blanket email as a bare minimum

Saying Sorry for the delay a few weeks back would go a long way. Also they could start the holiday discount code early with “Sorry10” or something in their merch store. Use it to their advantage

If it’s been pressed to vinyl, maybe some rogue employee will rip it for us. Other than that I think it’ll be cancelled completely. We’ve seen this before with GNR. Delay, into delay, into delay, into never.

One could think that it hasn’t been pressed as of yet with that type of delay

Shitty move waiting this long before the scheduled ship date to announce. Not a great sign that you have to reconfirm the order

50/50 that this even gets released now

Yup, this was always in the back of my head. How reliable are those dates?

Ultimately, it doesn't matter if the song is out today or in 3- weeks. It is just Axl, so we all have a mild worry that he may decide to pull the plug on its release. We just want it out for peace of mind!

Oh it’s coming. They got the $. I’m sure it’s all sitting in a warehouse right now. When it gets to the distribution center and shipping labels printed is another thing

  11. There’s a bit of a difference in a release date and an expected shipping date for a preorder

I would think eventually it will be on streaming sites. I’m not even sure if it will be shipped tomorrow. Hopefully in the next week. Expected shipping is a estimate

Remember this is a Perhaps vinyl. The band isn’t exactly pushing much of anything about the B side

Generally, when do records get sent out? Days before release or release day..... As if it's release day, it may not be online until following Friday, earliest?

They’ll start to ship out Friday. I believe the song will eventually be on streaming services. Whether that’s in the next week or sometime down the line

None of the singles have been promoted in advance so far. If this song is considered part of that, it would be no different

You guys are vicious. These promo interviews that Duff and Slash do are puff pieces. They're just vehicles to promote new records and tours. We're not gonna get any juice information on GNR's plans. There are no concrete plans save for tour dates anyway.

Seriously. Do people expect them to divulge anything when they are on a press tour for their solo work?

By now we should all know the drill. Things change in the GNR world. It’s best to just not say anything and let things happen or not. The alternative is they say something, it catches fire publicly and then it doesn’t happen. It makes people look even more incompetent.

We all know who controls what happens with the band in 2023. Nothing is going change that. They’ve been active. They’ve released music. Not sure if we can expect much of anything else at this point
