  1. Reminds me of Dave Grohl at a Soundgarden show about a year back, just getting in the pit.

Also, bitching and moaning in this thread is pathetic, some of you really need to get lives. Keep in mind that artists are still fans of other artists and might just want to see a show as a fan. Using something like this as an excuse to whine about what you don't like about this band is pretty fucking lame.

  2. I guess I'm in the minority here - I really, really disliked the leaks, mostly because I heard some of the new stuff live in 2002, and again in 2006, and live, it sounded great! When I heard the leak of Madagascar (my favourite song from CD) it was a huge let down - it sounded flat. The finished product with proper mastering/quality sounded a lot better. I'm not even sure how far off the leaked Madagascar was from the finished product - I haven't gone back to listen to it - but whether it was quality alone or subtle changes in the final mix/mastering, it sounded a lot better on the album.

Same goes for Catcher, TWAT, etc. (which I didn't get to hear live til 2010), The stuff that leaked did little for me; hearing the tracks live did though.

  3. Fake article trying to imitate the Onion but doing a rather poor job of it. Metal Sludge is just terrible. It had its "heyday" in the early to mid-2000s and even then it was a site where you just laughed at the users more than the material.

Why are you posting a fake story from years ago?

  4. WTF...

I had no idea they ever held -anything- in that parking lot. They should have just held it at Downsview.

I guess renting a parking lot is cheaper, but...

It can't be much worse than Ozzfest being held on an asphalt parking lot on a stinkin, blazing hot July day in Toronto.

    Literally, a parking lot.

For those of you who have been to Sound Academy, that parking lot right across from the venue?...THAT is where they held Ozzfest!

    Manson,Slipknot,Ozzy, Sabbath etc.

I saw so many ripped open knees and mangled legs, arms, elbows coming out of that pit, it was fucking nasty!

  5. Are people bitching about the show due to it being 2.5 hours? Are you forgetting that Rose Tattoo and ZZ Top played also??

I paid full price to see STP cruise through a 90 minute set a few years ago. Tool has been known to do 90 minute shows.

2.5 hours is just fine. 3 hours is awesome but lets be fair to the band here, they may have dealt with time constraints and other factors, and 2.5 hours is still a long show.

  6. i think Scraped would work as the 2nd song

i think they planned that when they started touring, lol agreed :shades:
it would be awesome . Then save Welcome to the Jungle to later in the set, or not :tongue2:

Jungle later might be a bad idea. It's a hard song to sing - I'd say do it early with fresh pipes. CD works as a warmup for it.

  7. BBF apparently mentioned Atlas Shrugged as being on the next CD and that it "almost" made it on to Chinese.

We know there's songs in the can - Soul Monster, Down by the Ocean, The General, Seven, Thyme, Atlas Shrugged, etc.

There's no doubt at album ready-ish and no doubt a ton of label-related issues getting it out. Thing is, in this day and age if they sold 200,000 copies it's be a huge success on the charts. Get one single to go viral and you're good.

  8. This thread is hilarious. Schippy acts like Guns are the first band to ever do a 2 for 1 deal. Newsflash, I got a 2 for 1 on Rush tickets and they're a huge, viable live act, and on Megadeth/Motorhead. Guess no one is interested in those bands.

Also - nice spin doctoring. You criticize GNR but this benefits the KISS/Crue tour just as much.

It's called marketing. Lots of tours do it.

They added a second show in Melbourne and downsized Newcastle. I'd say that sounds like a draw. They fact that certain people want to declare a tour a failure over a week before it happens, and the fact that ticket sales apparently mean more to them than the music, is kinda sad.

  9. Just wondering, cuz in another forum(non GNR), he said he loves CD more than the 2 UYI albums. And he is not a hardcore fan as most people here. So wondering what you guys think.

I just wont add AFD cuz that is just on another level; while TSI is a level below.

You can add me to that list.

AFD is about as perfect as an album as you will ever find.

And my next favourite GN'R CD is Chinese Democracy.

I think it really is because UYI were split though... there are just so many tracks on those albums that I skip through.

"Filler" is often a matter of opinion when you get down to it. However, for me - You Ain't the First, Back off Bitch, So Fine, My World, the second version of Don't Cry (really, that should have been a B-side of the single), Get in the Ring... those are all filler to me. That's 6 songs. And it doesn't even include tracks I just think are weaker, like Bad Obsession for example, or the covers, which again, could have gone out as B-sides or something (or on a covers album, since they did TSI after all).

Chinese Democracy's "filler" for me starts and ends at Rhiad, and I'm not even sure I can say that's filler, just a track I think is weaker.

If I had to make my own UYI album:

    Perfect Crime

    Pretty Tied Up

    Don't Cry

    You Could Be Mine

    Estranged

    November Rain

    Don't Damn Me

    14 Years

    Locamotive

    Coma

And that's probably too long for an album so I get the need to split things - I've never been able to come up with a satisfactory track list where UYI is one album and something isn't left out - so it's just all out perception for me.

    AFD

    CD

    UYI I

    UYI II

    Lies

    TSI

    That's my order.

  10. 90%

the remaining 10% mostly are stupid latin american fans

Hey you racist ass hole, why would we the latin american fans be stupid? show some respect and think a litlle bit before writting in your computer, motherfucker!

Because they only known their own language (you are a perfect example: ass hole = asshole). I'm tired reading spanish/portugal comments on the GNR related sites

For the record: i'm not a racist, i DO NOT have any problem with Latin American (or whatev) people, just the "fanboys & girls" are annoying as fuck

I think he meant "Latin American fans that are stupid." As in the stupid fans that are Latin American, not that all Latin American fans are stupid. Poor wording, though.

    yup, my bad

    (my grammar sucks too

Oh don't do PR for crash diet. It was stereotyping, plain and simple. There was no wording issue. He knew exactly what he was typing. And he deserved to be checked.

    On topic:

How much of an impact do you think the internet has had on the public's awareness? One could argue that some of the older casual fans, from the 80's, may not utilize the internet as younger people do.

    Fuck off, you muppet

"they only known their own language"

    "I'm tired reading spanish/portugal comments"

    know

    of

    Spanish

    Portuguese

You can turn in your grammar police badge now. Perhaps in future you should refrain from chastising others on their usage of the English language, at least until you've mastered it yourself.

However I'm sure everyone will write "asshole" correctly now when insulting you!

What a sorry joke this board has become.

  11. Why would Ron do this? Before anyone starts hating on Metal Sludge, they are a legit news source and have been talking about Dj Ashba long before most of you heard about him. They also broke the news of Dj joining GnR.

    Swing and a miss.

Sludge is anything but legit. The site is a joke. If you know anything about its history, or music in general, you understand that. It's just about the biggest cluster of cupcakes you can find online, and no doubt Ron doesn't feel like dealing with them. I don't blame him one bit.

  12. Holy fuck. It's not the first time Tommy's been pissed over something. He's been the guy, next to Axl, who's been most vocal about shit like crowd members throwing shit, or sound problems - so why the sudden rumour mongering? It was already explained that his bass cut out. So be it. He's always had a passion and that probably comes with his time in the 'mats - we really needed multiple threads about this? They're playing in Japan shortly, pretty damn sure he'll be there.
