Aerosmith are so talentless along with all the other american boybands like nine inch nails, they call themselves hard rock when all I hear in their music are rants about former girlfriends, cliche love songs and mild homosexual frustrations ("anger").

Personally I like Aerosmith, they're not the greatest band ever, and they do have some shitty lyrics and there's bands out there that are a lot more technically proficient, but I don't really care cos I like them. I've barely listened to the bands you've listed but I doubt I'd like 'em cos it's not my style, but if you like 'em that's fine by me, everyone's got different tastes in music which is good, since everything would sound the same if everyone liked the same music.

The truth is, being technical counts for sweet fuck all in my books. I regard music that moves me, something that I (and others) can connect with as good music. Whether that's Dylan strumming over a 3 chord acoustic number, or Alexi Laiho shredding the fuck out of some CoB track depends entirely on the person.

Honestly, my favourite band is AC/DC and they have little that's "technically" brilliant about them. I could seriously care less about that - they're the band that makes me happiest while I listen to them, so i'll continue to enjoy my basic 3 chord rock n' roll track without worrying how many bpm Angus can play the TNT solo at, or how melodic Bon's vocals are. If listening to black metal makes you happy, then go listen to it and stop telling people how much better you are for it.

Did I say that? I don't think that "talent" necessarily equates to technical ability. I think it takes a hell of a lot more talent to create music that people can connect with on a level that's beyond how simple or complex a song is to play. So no, I don't admit that it takes "little to no talent" to make an America's finest. Aerosmith don't represent that to me, but at the same time I can appreciate their ability as musicians and I definately don't see them as talentless.

They're actually a bunch of highly charismatic and entertaining performers that have produced a lot of great rock n' roll music. Sure, a lot of it was bad, but they made some really classic songs in their day too. They have shitheaps of talent - probably more than you'll ever have.
