Graeme
Punk Rock tried to Kill the Metal..... Ha ha ha, They Failed as they were stricken down to the ground.! (Tenacious D, The Metal)As a Musician, In general I see a lot more technical proficiency In Metal artists. I know for many people it's about what you enjoy... but nothing worse than listening to a "classic" and hearing a guitar solo and chords you can play in your sleep, and fgeeling unable to believe such laziness was rewarded with fame and fortune. The Sex Pistols can be forgiven on grounds of sheer attitude... VERY few other bands have kicked ass so hard as they di don Never mind the Bollocks.

awesome 80's
Alright thenJudas priest-I remember back in the early 80's i bought british steel thinking i was going to get a mediocre rock album. well i thought wrong the album was phenomenal. it was the first album i ever bought. i have been a fan ever since.Motörhead-late 70's early 80's they made some killer material.iron maiden-even though i never got into them. you might like them.black sabbath- personally i like both ozzy and dio years equally. but you might want to give their material with ozzy a try first.venom-i never cared for them very much but you might find enjoyment out of them.thrash-metallica/megadeth/slayer/voivod/anthrax/celtic frost/Suicidal Tendencies-i never got into the whole thrash thing but i think it might be appealing to you or anyone else trying to get into the genre.groove metal-pantera/white zombie/machine head/five finger death punch/lamb of god/six feet under-you probably wont dig this sub-genre unless your into more heavier stuff. but i think it's worth giving a shot.avenged sevenfold-i like this band there worth giving a try.down- they got a nice southern metal sound that i find pretty killer. SunnyDRE
time to end this.End what?Oh by the way, you could classify a whole lot of "so-called metal" in the punk catergory and vice-versa. I find trying to catergorize music into different genres is pointless......I mean some rap could even be consider punk (Bad Brains, N.W.A) and for that matter some people would even say Limp Bizit's early stuff is metal. You get it? These polls serve no purpose.

Is0tope
Punk. Add a bit of slower songs with poppy melodies as spice and there's my perfect dinner for my ears . The Replacements have been pleasing me for days . Edited October 31, 2007 by pet0
