angel of death
In Windows XP; If you have everyone on the same log-in, is it possible to have passwords on specific folders? My mom was wondering this for her work computer..And, I didn't know if there was a way to do that..Thanks.. highvoltage
Windows doesn't have something like this as a built-in feature. You need to get other programs to do it.You have two options:1. Download WinRAR and compress the folders into encrypted password protected RAR archives. Nobody would be able to open them but the password holder - but it would take a long time to re-open them yourself.2. Download something like My Secret Folder... it's functionality is basically explained on the page.
angel of death
Nothing built in?They have some guy that comes in that deletes unnecessary files/programs..So, he would most certainly delete one of those..Her other option was to save everything onto a disc, so that she only has access to it..I guess she might have to do that..Thanks, though..Good to know, just in case I may need something like that.. :xmasssanta:

gnrrulz
XP Pro has built in encryption. She could also just right click the file, go to properties, and then check the hidden box. Then the file would only show up with hidden files and folders enabled in the tools menu in explorer.
